What do you drive?
Mattilacken replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I just replaced my 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander with a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. Feels like coming home, its my 8'th Jeep GC including one parts car and a couple that i just rebuilt and sold. The Cherokee in the background is what i drive at work, its a 2017 Cherokee that we lifted as much as possible to fit "32 tires(if i remember correct but at least "31). O and a "17 wheel can fit the 3.0 Diesel Summit. My Mamba M5 did so but with minimal clerance. have had theese weels for more than 15 yers and used them on several of my WJ jeeps. -
Sweet, so did we, in total 8, mostly WJ and I have had every engine available in the WJ except for the old VM motori diesels. I see what you mean and agree with you! As well as I need to get the rear edge of the front fenders to come inwards. Not clearly visible in these pics but they are way further out with the tire as a base line. I think it’s easier to correct those thing on the body than in the computer so I will try to fit the fenders permanently and then modify. how about the oem viper intake.. should I make some thing better looking or even take the intake from the later gen engine so I would have a taller engine?

Truck tire shopping
Mattilacken replied to ksnow's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
They are here in some regions as well. And in manny citties you are not allowed to use them either. But here above the Arctic Circle most people use them or same tire but the version without studs. -
Truck tire shopping

Here if you dont run a studded tyre as Nokian Hakkapeliitta you run a studded STT pro. Sadly most AT tires are not legit to use in EU/Sweden even though they have snow rating in the US. best example of Hakkapelita is what @iamsuperdan sell, the Arctic Trucks AT44. -
What did you see on the road today?
Mattilacken replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sweet truck! I have always liked the Icelandic styled trucks of wich we have a couple. We have two Hilux AT and some Izusu trucks. And the first one we had around here was a Nissan Patrol. I did a model of a tire based on that tire, you can have the file if you like to build a truck for your desk. -
That stance is just right! But as you say, needs allot of work to go with it. Almost easier to take a full drag racing chassis to get the large wheel tubs. Neither of the AmT or revell 67 have a good chassis for a low stance. An other way is what I did in my 1996 Impala SS Pro street, I took a monogram 1/24 nascar chassis and widened the tubs in the rear, that chassi is ok regarding height.

Nice work there! -

I printed it, it even got the switch in it, it was hard to paint it. I got the basse model at grabbad but modified it to be able to print it, I have the file if you would like to have it.
-
Made some progress, got some brakes and other engine parts prepped and ready for paint but not much to show. But I did some minor additions to the interior added the switch board to the left of the steering wheel . And just a better shot of the engine with a better camera.

Great progress there! Nice work on that rear axle. -
Thank you! Thanks! It was probably mor or less as this one yes I have done some changes to resemble an Impala here in Sweden that had the world record at 402m with a caravan behind. ? he had replaced his front and rear bumper with what I have modeled here and mine also have a custom spoiler but other than that they should have been a like except for everything else as you pointed out ? haha Thanks Slusher!

Thanks Steve! Great to hear from you, as you said in your thread, it’s been a while, but that’s summer right! Yes the rear tires are printed and designed by me, but I realize that they look so naked without any tire text engraved so I might need to put some stickers there.. might have to buy Hoosier or some other nice ones instead of the traditional good year. What’s your 2 cents, tire decals or not?

8 months later and the Impala is back on the table. The Porsche is done as so is a Jordan F1 car, super productive year so far, and I have also made progress on my c5R and C5R race truck. made my first cost of primer and have corrected allot of old mistakes and I also removed the door handles since they felt so 1980’s. So I will put some others in there from the PB. I have also started to put the interior in place, and started to see how much interference I do have with the cage and seats… will be needing some mods as it seems..
