Very cool classic build .

Thanks Tom, here in Chicago there are various styles including a 3 sided spinner style with multi ads, my little sign is 5pcs, I may just put it on the rear of the cab and nothing on the roof. Your Van cab looks awesome . I have a Lindberg Ford police car I may turn into a cab.

I have a few Palmers unbuilt in my stash , my opinion the box art was neat and thats what made us as kids buy 'em. Have fun with it, thats what this hobby is all about.

Earlier this week I was able to get some color on my cab build, color of choice was Tamiya TS34, next will be all the black trim around the windows and other body areas, doing trim is not my favorite thing to do.

Most builders shy away from these kits because of the words "Snap kit" so they go pretty cheap at shows.
-
I never did a taxi before so last week I started one..[ Revell snapper kit ]. I used the Police car as its done in white , I have he taxi / firechief kit also but its not in white but pretty much share the same parts.. I copied the the decals from the taxi kit and glued them in place inside. . The original decals are stickers..I had an interior junk P/E set #2 and used a few items , clip board [ the kit comes with a clipboard but the P/E one is better,] seat back nets, sunglasses and, ice scraper. Making a double sided advertising sign for the roof. Added flock for carpet. Even though its a snap kit ,you can spend many extra hours and add a lot detail.

Its a "back in the day" kit. With some parts box items and a few ideas it builds out fine enough for me.Thanks. Ken

The grille / radiator I was gonna use just didnt look right with the bigger headlights, so parts box came through with an old Lindberg roadster grille/radiator

I build this kind of kit every now and then just for a change. This was fun and easy, no flash but man o' man a lot of seams to fill or remove and you must not mind a lot of brush work. Only items sprayed were the white on the players jersey and shorts and refs black pants. Entire model was finished in gloss and dull coat.Plastic support brackets hold up Francis and the basketball, the ref can be positioned anyplace. Backdrop paint is just my attempt to look like people in the seats.Floor is a mixture of Vallejo acrylics and gloss coated.Red stripe is vinyl tape.

Was that custom front end in any other issue? I bought a resin copy along time ago but dont remember who made it -
This is not a model, its a work of art..an amazing build.

Really a great job on this build. Decals look fantastic

Almost done with this one, since last update the I built up an interior with new floor, head liner and door panels. Cut the seat sides to fit. Used the same cheesy engine with a few parts box updates such as headers and chrome valve covers. Parts box headlights were moved up and on top of fenders. All new glass made from clear plastic along with short sun visor. Added chrome strips to bed floor. Need to finish radiator and shell ,the one I was using was taller than I wanted it to be so started cutting.Rear lights and spotlight are parts box.
-
Added new rear axle tubes to original rear end so a regular metal / wire axle will work..Some old narrow cheater slicks and chrome reverse for the back and the kits front tires with chrome disc hubcaps. Repaired all lower cab areas where it had old glue build up and broken plastic pieces, made the rear window a little bigger.. Added trim and made front wall for the bed, also since it really didnt have a bed floor, I cut the floor out of an old junker 'Popcorn Wagon' and used it as a bed floor, it has a wood grain texture and I still have to add some floor strips. Next since the interior really is limited, I have to add door panels and head liner .

I checked it out Matt , it's really well done and has the look.

Thanks but I got that driver pre painted from another persons parts box ?

Got this original motorized pickup in a trade here with "jeffdeoranut"..I .got it all apart and cleaned up...,I will use some newer modern parts such as tires and wheels.I think alot can be done with this..

Parts box build except body and rear tires, they are J;F resin..painted Dupli color red metallic, clear coated with Krylon color master acrylic clear, never used it before but seems to work good . The gloss in some areas was knocked down using a light Tamiya weathering. Evergreen tube exhaust.Modified front and rear axles , roll bar..MCG seatbelt

Thanks for the comments. These pictures from another angle may show the front tires are shorter, They are actually 1/32nd from a 28 Lincoln kit, I used them before on another build
-
Just like the last J/F resin body I did, most every part came from the parts box except the rear wheels, they are J/F resin too. Will be a curbside build. 1st...thin the body out, rear area is solid thick bulb of resin 2nd. modify front axle , its way wide 3rd section in rear end to hide metal axle 4th.start building an interior and roll bar The smooth disc wheel covers will be used over the slotted front wheels

66 Chevy modified stocker..DONE [updated with pics]
BIGTRUCK replied to BIGTRUCK's topic in WIP: NASCAR
Left off the chrome front and added screen in its place not much extra work on the body, all extra work was done on chassis and interior. Paint used was Testors Star Spangled Blue Lacquer and Dupli Color Universal White shot over light grey primer. Window net is piece of old car front bug screen I saved long ago.. -
