I ordered this kit online with other items and kit arrived destroyed. The seller made good on it and let me keep the kit.The body was broken in half at the windshield, one side of the ''A'' frame gone and all breaks in the plastic were not clean breaks,Im waitjng for some items for the 60 T-bird Im working on so I figured why not fix this kit,so here goes....... Used some evergreen strips to beef up the breaks underneath and white areas on the top side is Tamiya putty. running boards were also busted up, so now Im making a set of new ones, rear mags were busted up too which seemed strange, but easy parts box fix for those.. Im not sure which way to go with it yet but it always figures itself out

This Mercury as seen in the ''on the bench ''section , started out clean and unpainted, only problem is someone sanded everything off, so I added some strips on the body sides and fender tops. Drilled axle holes higher to lower car, added door handles from Revell 60 Chevy, headrests may be from 62 Buick Im not sure. Wheels were parts box, 59 T-Bird steering wheel and phone. 59 El camino spotlights, kit supplied custom taillights.Color is Testors ''Root Beer'' lacquer ,inside was a combo of Nutmeg satin and Vellejo ''red black''. Scroll decal hood and trunk Revell '49 Mercury. I used new and improved bare metal foil on strips that I added without problems. The ''A'' frame was done with old foil, wouldnt lay right, not the foils fault my foil was just old.

First trade with Casey, , not enough "o" in smooth...thanks Casey , Ken

Thats the original '59 Chevy frame I used ,it had to be narrowed to fit the Buick where it mounts. Frame to wide, glass to wide. AMT el camino glass to wide. Never tried the Revell '59, but I know if I get another Buick glass it will fit the modified Chevy frame. Problem is finding one with out Modelhaus.

I planned on getting this one done this morning,I had the glass all trimmed and ready to go... but I dropped the only vac-u-form windshield I could find and buy and roll chaired over it numerous times. When I found it on the floor it was split and scuffed, so until I find another glass I'm calling it done, and after all that foil..

Harry you will adapt to a new city, a new home, your only concern should be to get better and stronger and with the comfort of knowing family is near , and the support behind you here , you'll be back. Maybe new life styles mean you may move a little slower and maybe need some help to do things you normally did on your own. So I hope and pray you continue to get better everyday. ..Ken

Great looking 56, , great era for stockcar racing.

Pretty much done with this mild custom, my new bare metal sheet should deliver tomorrow, I need to lay down a strip starting on the front of the hood , down the entire driver side along the edge of the trunk and back along the passenger side to the front. One long nerve testing strip about 1/16th tall Add tail lights , glass ,mirrors , maybe a spotlight and skirts.

Harry I'm happy your starting the week on an upbeat positive swing. Continue getting better and stronger..

I was looking up some ideas to finish the interiors on my 59 Buick and 60 Mercury builds and came across these dashes of yesteryear . I was 5 years old when these were around way too young to appreciate how cool they looked.
