  3. Back then you could tell what kind of cars were racing Dodge ,Chevy ,Ford etc.
  4. When model companies gave us a chance to purchase items like Hot Rod magazine and in the box was a Hot Rod sticker or buy a Billy Carter T-shirts, free sew on patches inside ,buy model cases or join a model club ...
  5. Great trade shout out for Steve Cosby AKA Intmd8r , honest trader, would trade with again.
  6. Looks great, how wide are those rear wheels? They look pretty nice on your build.
  7. Thats sharp and I love customs. Great work on that wagon.
  8. Thoughts and prayers for Harry..
  9. Had this kit once years ago and sold it , I came across another one cheap Lago-Talbot 1949 from Czechoslovakia... looks like 1/24th
  10. Slow moving progress on my Mercury. I finished the bare metal foil and added the new front bumper / grille. Since all the trim is custom add on I used the custom rear lights on the stock bumper. Next is get the interior painted a medium dark tan with white accents and detail then add exterior chrome tidbits such as mirrors , antennas maybe spotlights. I'm leaving the continental kit off as this car is long enough already.
  11. Now that Caddy would look much better if the fender skirt came down past the hubcap center. to me the fender adjustment looks better, but needs a little something.
  12. Steven thats one beautiful Ford, the trim work ,the paint and that interior....perfect. Your idea with the tape is a way I can use the skirts with out destroying the rear quarters I just repaired. An idea so simple and I would never thought of it. thanks Ken
  13. Body is done chassis is done, but I have skirts painted up from a 59 Chevy that fit well. They are not the larger custom ones , just a normal pair that fit the wheel opening. Im not sure I want to glue the skirts on the body I just repaired because of skirts.
  14. Thats pretty nice.
  15. I think it was George Burns that said "If I new I was gonna live this long I would have taken better care of myself" but then again Im lucky I remembered the quote
  16. 9 Johan 59 Ramblers when they first came out. Have 3 left, never built one but sold or traded a few..
  17. Thanks Ron, Ive been buying builders for awhile and I figured it would be fun to build a bunch of classic oldies.
  18. Good looking Ford, all the work that was done was well worth it.
  19. Looks great, the black outside and the wine color inside really make it noticeable
  20. Ray, did you drop the body on a dragster frame?
  21. Once I got this out of the purple power to get the heavy paint removed I decided to start this one too.. I really like these "Squarebirds" First I drilled out the stock tail lights and put in the custom ones, found the original skirts and continental kit , spot lights and mirrors..My goal is a lowered mild custom. Its never been hacked on or sanded on so it should be a straight forward build after a little more clean up..
  22. Paint and clear on,let it cure good and polish it out. Thats 2 painted [ 60 Merc and this Buick ] may have to start another while waiting on these.
  23. Nice clean build, very smooth paint.
  24. Happy Birthday Harry, electronic finger prints and paper trails get you every time
  25. Clever build happening here, should be pretty cool with all those mods.
