  1. Good luck to all CBR2022 entrants! And Happny New Year too, of course. I need to get something else completed and off the bench over the next day or two, making use of the final few days of holiday, then I can make final decision and start on mine......
  2. Congratulations Kurt! I found it very difficult to make a choice, and I'm very pleased and grateful to have picked up a few votes at my first attempt.
  3. Good to see it out again. I enjoyed doing one back in the '90s: It went together better than the GTX behind it and still looks good on the shelf. I regret not buying the custom version they also offered. Very period box art as I recall, did they change/add much?
  4. Is it that bad then? I recently picked up one of the Revell-Monogram issues of the black version - sounds like it's best to go in the way I'd have done back in the '80s, just try and enjoy it for what it is.
  5. /\ Amazing work there. Not quite today, and somewhat less advanced/skilled, over the Christmas holiday I've been trying to finish this Tamiya BMW: The interior, engine and floorpan were all done in the '90s, I'm giving it a reshell to tidy it up a bit (I had most of a spare kit). There's quite a bit of BMF and detail painting on it, but hopefully I can make the final push on it today and get an early 2022 completion under my belt.
  6. Nice one Martin! Looks really effective.
  7. Crikey Gareth! What a collection of great builds, certainly some that passed me by and it's great to see them all.
  8. Great to see them all Michael. I have to admire your patience and skill on the competition car decals, but I love to see what you can do on the road cars.
  9. Be careful what you wish for: There is this funny little kit. It's small, and the bodyshell is split in half lengthways through the bonnet, roof and tailgate! I know someone on another forum who built one, it was a bit of a challenge. I haven't dared attempt mine.....
  10. Lovely job you've done on that one Tom. Great colour and detailing, I'd be very happy to have that in my cabinet.
  11. Nice work so far, it's looking good. Land Rovers are one of those vehicles where you could build almost endless variations - if it wasn't available from the factory chances are someone has built/converted one afterwards.
  12. Not quite today, but recently: A 1973 Wartburg! One of a few low-price, Eastern Bloc cars sold here at the time. I don't remember any of these from when I was young although I do recall various examples of Moskvich, Skoda and Lada. I didn't know what it was until I looked online, apparently a 1951 Alvis Three Litre TA21. I liked the timless quality of the setting, apart from a few details it could have been at any time in the last 70 years. Also interesting to see what we were getting as a largish luxury car at the time, compared to 1951 cars from the USA. 1972 Volvo with a lot of patina. I've seen it in use a few times. And a rather smarter 1976 244. 1990s sporty stuff.
  13. Turned out very well, it looks great. I'll have to look out for one myself.
  14. That looks amazing! The detailing around the windows works so well and really elevates the look of it.
  15. My AMT '70 Challenger arrived yesterday. Need to have a bit of a play with it over Christmas to see how the V10 might fit and what wheels/tyres will go with it. Got to work out how to give it a reasonably subtle look, more resto-mod than pro-touring. Maybe brown/bronze paintwork?
  16. Nice one Dominik! Imagine it at 1:1, it certainly makes a statement.
  17. That looks fantastic, well worth the effort of tidying it up after all those years.
  18. Great to see this one progress in such a methodical way, it's coming together very nicely.
  19. Potential entry for the CBR 2022 Buildoff: With a Viper V10 engine and 'box, subject to a trial fitting session.
  20. Nice work Steve. You've captured the subtly different look of the V8 very well, great period colour too!
  21. That's fantastic! The detailing on the engine has worked very well.
  22. Great to see them all - fantastic quality and an interesting variety. There are one or two that I missed first time around, like the wonderfully realistic looking Impala(?) convertible.
  23. Not crazy, looks good to me!
  24. A nice little selection there. Is the Isuzu as nice as other Hasegawa kits?
  25. Stunning! The overall look, colour choice, quality of build etc all come together perfectly.
