  1. Very cool builds, I too love the steelies and centre caps in this kit, though I wish Revell would also include the full wheel trims. Nice work on opening the doors and trunk.
  2. Beautiful looking build. Love all the extra detail, and that metallic purple is gorgeous. Very nice.
  3. Lovely. Really like the Camaro with the wires and open roof! I haven't posted my annual builds yet, I'm just finishing up an Edsel and I might even get another build in before the year's out.
  4. I think eBay are just screwing everyone. I type my usual searches in and the right items come up, but I started to notice that after I bought an item a cheaper one would appear in recommended based on what I bought! I've noticed now that when you click on someone's item for sale, there is another two rows ON THE SELLERS LISTING! of items "similar" and "related" that are usually cheaper than the listing I originally clicked on! Lol, I wonder if eBay sellers know that eBay does this?! Sellers must lose tons of sales by having cheaper items by other sellers ON THE SELLERS LISTED ITEM PAGE! The absolute cheek of it! Lol
  5. I'm sure I'm on a mission to build some of the worst kits I've heard about, Lol. I picked this '73 Mustang up to see if the rumours are true. The '69 Country Charger and '77 Pinto certainly didn't disappoint in regards to what's labelled as a "bad kit" Since I picked up model building again I think I've found the type of building I like, rough but simple kits that need a little more than just gluing together.
  6. I've been looking for another of these since I built one a year ago or so, but they're as hard to find as hens teeth. Although a very simplified kit the box art just doesn't do this kit justice.
  7. Thanks Eric. I have thought about doing something Bullitt related but nearly all the scenes have parked cars I've never seen in 1/25 scale. Thanks, Cliff.
  8. Nice deep looking blue. The '61 is my favourite of all the models, such a beautiful design.
  9. Beautiful colour. I love the '60 Impala.
  10. Very nice work. What a crazy looking kit!
  11. Cheers, Eric. Cheers Mario. I too prefer the 72-76, the moulding looked good from the builds I've seen. AMT looked to have rushed the redesign of the kit which really shows on the front end. Thanks mate. Like the MPC Charger, I enjoy these problematic kits and fixing their issues. I've read the '73 Mustang is a bit of a pain to build, I'll have to give that one a go next.
  12. Definitely be getting this! The curbside was real nice to build, and with the spare engine in this my earlier build will no longer be a curbside!
  13. Before I picked up the hobby again in 2020 the last model I built I think was a '57 Ford Thunderbird in the 90's. Brush painted with Humbroll pot paints. Humbroll was a good paint back then and give a good finish. I used the same cement for the glass as I did for the body and the glass would look all fogged up, lol. I'd buy a kit, a couple of paints and some glue and I build it that day. I didn't think of using aerosols, primers or different glues back then. I wish my builds survived so I could compare them to how I build now.
  14. That's different, I like it.
  15. That looks really good! I'm not much of a hot rod guy but I think I might have a butchers at this one one day.
  16. I love it, you done an awesome job. I've really been looking forward to seeing this when I seen the in progress pic. You cleaned up the front end nicely and I like the stock wheels. When I was building mine I was tempted to cast three more stock wheels from the one that comes in the kit but as you know, this kit is enough work as it is! Very nice build.
  17. I passed by that model shop today I mentioned earlier, it's not there anymore:( The only other model shops in the entirety of Wales, according to Google, seem to only deal in RC cars and trains, so that's that. eBay is the only place I can buy 1/25 AMT and MPC stuff.
  18. I haven't seen a model shop of any kind near me since the 90's. Nearest one to me is in Swansea which is about twenty miles away from where I live. I did pass by one near there a few years ago but I didn't go in cos the window was solely dedicated to Hornby trains. I'll have to see if it's still there, they might do 1/25 car kits but judging by the window display I remember I doubt they'll have anything other than the usual muscle cars. Nothing wrong with that, but they seem to be the most commonly available kits in the UK.
  19. I bought a Revell '68 Mustang from Germany a couple months back, postage on the listing was about £12 I think and that's what I paid. I was worried about import charges, or even the kit not arriving altogether because of brexit, but I took a chance because it was the only version of the model listed on ebay. It arrived no problem and no charges. It is frustrating the limited choice of car kits here, and the prices are twice as high. I think it's cos the UK doesn't have as strong a car culture as the U.S. If it's trains, WW2 planes, or military, you're spoilt for choice. If you put a muscle car next to a Lister stationery engine in the UK the stationary engine will get the most attention! xD
  20. Thanks guys. When I was choosing a colour I went looking for the most garish 70's colours there were, it came close to orange with a brown Starsky & Hutch stripe! but then I remembered a car my neighbour had in the 80's, a Morris Marina Coupé in Applejack Green, a car that kind of looks very much like the Pinto actually.
  21. Thanks, Ray. Thanks, David. That's what I like about these older basic kits, you can go wild or just fix some of the issues, either way there's not another one that's built exactly the same. What matters is you built it your way, even mine is nowhere near what other builders on here could make of it.
  22. Another one done! I've posted pics in Underglass. Call me mad, but I really enjoyed this build... doesn't make it a good kit though! Lol. Interior is not my best effort but I'm happy enough with it. Thanks for following along guys, it's always fun cos even I don't know myself which direction I'll be going when starting new builds!
  23. This is probably my most modified build to date. Too many to list here without writing a book so I'll include a link to my WIP. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/166157-1977-ford-pinto-by-amt/ This is a very basic promo style kit that looks to be very badly facelifted from the original annual. I can't recommend this kit unless you like scratch building and fixing issues. Don't expect this kit to look like this out of the box, it took a lot of work to get it looking like this, but if you like this type of model building, the AMT Pinto is well worth a go. It was loads of fun, especially getting the hatch to work! I was torn between the stock and custom look. I'm more of a factory stock guy, but the custom parts made the Pinto look so darn cool! so the last couple of pictures are for the weekend warriors, Lol.
