  1. Jim, I like it that low!!! OK maybe one scale inch higher but that's it. Maybe a blown hemi? Whatever you do, love it so far... Steve
  2. Hi guys, thanks for the interest in my Anglia project. Not too much progress, but here’s an update. - Finished the recess for back license plate - Some progress on motor, whipper blower installed on motor. - Chassis painted. Interior will eventually be flocked with embossing powder. I have used embossing powder for a few years now and think it looks great. A big thanks to Steve Guthmiller for sharing his incredible interiors, and showing the various colours available. I bought a set and have many choices now instead of painting the powder. Thanks Steve!! Still lots of detail work to do here. - Suspension is painted and ready for install I thought I was going to give the car it’s final primer coat today, but... after much thought, and a little nudge from Martin, I think I am going to add hidden hinges, no door handles, and suicide doors. I have hinged many trunks, but no doors. I have looked at a few tutorials and plan on tackling doors by next weekend. Alan, I also am going to add trunk hinges on inside of body rather than on chassis. I will have photos on next update. Chassis, as you can tell is quite modified. I added the trans tunnel from Dobberton J2000 chassis. Narrowed rear of chassis by 14mm, (white piece in photos) widened fenders to suit. The motor will be fairly basic. I will add ignition wires and probably fuel lines to the fuel rails on the whipper blower. The belt for the blower will be made from masking tape. Thanks for looking, Steve
  3. Wow Francis, what an incredible work of art. I will start following along. A level of build quality that VERY few will achieve. Look forward to seeing it complete. Cheers, Steve (fellow Canadian)
  4. That is just straight-up cool !!! I absolutely love it. My dad had a 62 Impala, so I love the 61, 62's. The " A " pillars on them are awesome. Love the stance, paint, it's all nice. Well done.
  5. I love old wagons! Very nice build and colour choice. Love it Did a surf wagon a few years back...
  6. Claude, that is a super cool build. I am inspired. I might do a much less modified version, '69 body with the 70 1/2 grill as a pro touring car. Thanks for the inspiration.
  7. Hi Bruce, beautiful paint and detail work. Steve
  8. Tim, any compliment coming from you is graciously accepted. That Bantam of yours is one of the most incredible builds I have seen. Well deserved top honours at dscv 16, congratulations. Thanks for the kind words all. I will try for an update next week. Chees, Steve
  9. Very, very nice work Steve. Your detail is just simply awesome. I am a fan!! I have seen a handful of your builds now and they are all awesome. Love your 442 from the dscv show, it is stunning. Cheers, Steve
  10. Very nice Jim, I did a similar build a few years ago.
  11. Hi John, it has a big block hood, but indeed just a 327 with a cam and roller tipped rockers. About 300 hp...
  12. Thanks for all the input guys. Yes, it is indeed based on the "Skippers Critter". They are super fun cars, forgot they were a UK thing. As far as the doors, I thought about suicide doors, but I THINK... they might stay as they are. Not quite decided yet though. Noel, I love your version, looks great. Jim, I will try to get a couple of chassis photos soon. Cgeers, Steve
  13. Thanks for the input guys. Pink bits are from the Hay's pro street T-bird. I played with a few different headlight combos, I liked them low. Probably because the stock ones were mounted so high and I wanted different. Steve
  14. Here's a couple of pics of tail lights
  15. There's a lot of Steve's here, this could get confusing. Love the Plodge though, it's really cool.
  16. Steve G, don't distract him. When he's done the 68 Beaumont conversion, I need him working on a '67 Beaumont conversion so I can replicate my car. Without all the scratch building.... gotta love our Canadian cars though eh?
  17. Hi Dann, just got a nice package in the mail today. Thanks so much for the work putting together dscv16. It was a very well run event and super easy to register etc.
I was quite surprised at having 5 of my entries chosen for awards. Thanks to the judges who deemed my builds worthy, there was some beautiful entries.
    Thanks, Steve Hayden35B6AC6A-29B5-448A-A513-4AD35C8EA624.thumb.jpeg.2793712af55739b2214d10dfd36c3af9.jpeg

  18. Hi all, first time posting a WIP. I have always liked the Anglia’s but thought they would look cooler with slightly wider rear fenders. Also wanted a modern looking, low rod rather than the gasser look. So here goes... - cut off rear fenders and grafted on 37 Ford fenders - headlights are from ‘40 Ford pickup - there will be small, flush turn signals just under headlights - dash is also from ‘37 Ford (modified) added a nav screen from a die cast. - chassis is totally reworked to accommodate 4 link rear, front struts from pro stock - seats from Dobberton J-2000 - hood modified to not be a flip nose - wheels from the Tijuana Taxi kit, rear tires are small rears from sprint car, parts box fronts and disc brakes - Chev motor will have a resin whipple blower - colour will be Candy apple red, interior will be a tan colour I don’t do as much at the hobby desk during summer, so might be a while before it’s finished. Curious to hear any thoughts so far. Thanks
  19. Hi Bruce, I'm a little late to the dance but that is a beautiful truck. Haven't got one yet, but it's on my list. The paint colour is stunning, and smooth! Very nice build all around..
  20. Sweet idea Jim, I also look forward to seeing more of your builds. Nice work!
  21. Thanks for checking out my 66 Nova. Not my business, but I would finish your Nova as a slammer. For me, (and it sounds like you agree) the Nova has beautiful lines, I just wanted to put some nice wheels under it, a decent paint job and set the ride height. No muss no fuss! I will probably do a full detail build of it someday...

  22. Thanks for the kind words all. Michelle, the carbon fibre is done with decals, a google search would give you a few options.
  23. Beautiful build Phil. Your body work is always tasteful and very well executed. Love the colour choice too, and I agree with Misha, that grill is awesome.
  24. I did this as a quick build. I was originally going to do a full detail, but decided on this version instead. I have recently started doing slammer builds between full detail builds. Keeps things fun. The chassis is a resin unit with molded-in axles etc. Wheels and tires are from Fujimi. Exhaust tips are aluminum tubing. I tinted the chrome with smoke clear. As an experiment, I tried smoking the BMF trim, it didn’t turn out as good as I hoped, but it was worth a try. Paint is Bahama Blue with a carbon fibre hood. As always... low!

    ELDO-LICIOUS

Yes... what they all said. Crazy, beautiful paint job. That is a stunning Caddy.
