Anton! How are you sir? Another great looking build. I sure wish these would be produced again… Good looking cars. That colour looks nice and the subtle stripes really make it. Nicely done! I NEED one of these to build. Cheers, Steve

Haha!! Thanks Jim! Ya…. the “shiny” does look good with the contrast of the base. Thanks for lookin’ Cheers, Steve

Thanks Misha. It was definitely fun foraging on my property for the various elements. Trying to keep the scale somewhat accurate and believable was a combination of measurements and also what just looked right. Thanks for the kind words, I have no doubt the base you build will be a work of art. Cheers, Steve

Thanks Steve! Wow, you did a lot of work on the rear fenders. Very nice bodywork, and the interior is beautiful. Not sure yet what I will use for a chassis, but that gives me a good idea of what to do with the kit chassis. Thanks again. -

Crisp! That is a fantastic looking little truck. I’m not normally a fan of yellow, but it looks really good, especially with your interior colours. Nice work on adding some clean detail to the simplified chassis. Here’s, Steve -

Very nice build Steve, I missed this one previously so thanks for updating. The stance looks perfect and great colour combo. I have a similar build in my head. Is this the same body as the Deserter kit? If you have an undercarriage shot to share it would be much appreciated. Cheers, Steve -

Great looking build, and great story to go with it Scott. Really nice job on the weathering. Do you have any photos of the 1:1? Cheers, Steve -
Mystery Machine…. with a twist.

Hi Dave, the possibilities are endless with this thing. Paddy wagon, pizza delivery, mobile dog wash, dog food delivery (Scooby Snacks anyone?), along with the ideas others have shared here. Fun kit. Thanks for having a look. -
Hi all, I just finished a diorama for photographing my models. I couldn’t resist getting a couple of glamour shots with this build. Cheers, Steve

Hi all, I have been wanting to build a “setting” for photographing my completed builds. The idea here that it is the corner of a parking lot, with the surrounding area being landscaped. I did a quick WIP on this if you are interested in more details. This is something I have not tried before, but it was fun combining my career in civil construction/road building, my love of gardening and landscaping, and the passion I have for this awesome hobby of ours. Yes, I did try to simulate oil stains in the appropriate places. I might add more to that, but don’t want to overdo it. Couldn’t resist “parking” a few of my favourites to see how things look… And Jim, if you stop by for a look there’s some “shiny”!! Overall I’m quite pleased with the final look. The scale look of the asphalt is pretty close by my eye. I will definitely play around with where I set the base to try and get a better flow in the background. Eventually I would like a photographed backdrop, in the meantime this is much better than nothing. Thanks a lot for having a look. Hope yo like it, and always, all comments welcome. Cheers, Steve

Horses are no less “family” than our dogs are. I feel for you. He was really fluffy yesterday, just got a fresh grooming today. He’s actually a miniature Schnauzer, but with a “teddy bear” cut rather than the typical Schnauzer cut.

Thank you CG. As mentioned, it was a fun little build, and I was happy with the lighting experiment. Cheers, Steve -
Unlikely you will get any ideas from me Greg, but I do intend to start picking away at it again. Yours is REALLY nice ? I know how much you like your shiny Jim. Keep an eye out in the Diorama under glass section, I’ll put a shiny car or 2 in the lot for ya! Thanks for sharing that Bill. Yes, some of the people on here have some beautiful backgrounds, and take amazing photos. Not my area of expertise, but hoping this will be an improvement. Thanks guys!

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!

Keep on goofing Kurt, that thing is wicked cool!! -
Thanks Jim! Now I just need a “shiny” car or two parked on it. Haha??. Yep, all the curbs would be broken with just a piece of rusty rebar holding the bits together, and they’d be mixed in with the landscape. We do seem to get more snow than we used to, but still not much, and certainly not as much as Winterpeg. Speaking of the background, I would like to have some sort of scenic backdrop. That’s a project for later, my yard will have to suffice for now. Time to get back to building the Blazer… Thanks Scott. Don’t forget the moss from my yard! I appreciate you guys taking the time to comment. Cheers, Steve

That’s awesome! I love a good drum solo.

Very sorry to hear that Mike. My wife is a horse girl, and she gets super attached. Our neighbours had to put down a horse of theirs that my wife had been riding for a few years. One of the toughest days I’ve ever had…

This is a real beauty Craig. The colours play very nicely together, and make for a classy looking Caddy. My 2cents on the wheels would be to add one or two light coats of smoke, but I kinda have a “thing” for Tamiya smoke. Either way, this is a very nice looking build indeed, thanks for sharing. Cheers, Steve

Hi John, love the Bahama blue! I have a one of these in the que for this fall, it will likely be Bahama blue too. Great looking paint job. I will be watching with interest. Cheers, Steve

Ok, on the home stretch here. I wanted some variation in the landscape, but tried also to keep it from looking TOO hodge podge. Here I have added the driftwood and grass. For some added texture and colour I cut up a disposable paint brush for ornamental grass. Next up, the curb stops in the parking spaces. As Greg mentioned above, without these people tend to drive in the grass, or bump into whatever landscape there is. So I decided to modify a couple of carpenters pencils. They were slimmed down in height and width and reshaped. I then shot them with some textured paint, then a few shades of grey to resemble concrete. Holes were drilled to receive the “rebar” pins to hold them in place. “Rebar” is short pieces cut from a paper clip, then painted a rust colour. I was hoping to get this outside this afternoon to get some better photos, but it’s yet another windy day here and I didn’t want any bushes to blow away! So hopefully tomorrow I will get some decent outdoor pics and get it under glass. Looking forward to parking a few cars on it! Thanks for following along and taking the time to contribute your comments, much appreciated. Cheers, Steve
