Thank you Howard. Hi Bob, thanks for having a look. I appreciate your kind words. Just realized I’m going to have back to back “murdered out” builds! Thanks Mario! I’m a huge fan of your builds so I very much appreciate your compliment. It definitely has “villain” written all over it. Thank you Phil! Your 300 was excellent inspiration for my splitter and spoiler. Seeing yours made it much easier for me to visualize what I wanted to do with mine, so thanks. I am quite pleased with how the exhaust looks. Hi Claude! You know me, I like ‘em low… insects beware! It really did turn out exactly as I had envisioned, that doesn’t always happen. Thanks for checking in sir, always nice to hear from you. BTW, I may need your 2 cents a few times with my next WIP, keep the piggy bank handy!! Cheers, Steve -
Hi Steve, great looking build. That open sunroof really adds to the look of car. Swapping out the headlights makes a big difference also. And man…. those things are huge! I learned to drive in a ‘73 Dodge Monaco 500. Similar size vehicle, XXL … Cheers, Steve

Hi Keith, I’m really liking this one. That colour looks great, especially with the black stipe and hood. Gotta love those Pegasus wheels, they look great on almost anything in my opinion, excellent choice. I’ll be watching… Cheers, Steve

Nice to see you back at the bench Roger. Very clever idea the trunk hinge mount. Under side of trunk with bracing etc. looks fantastic. Looking forward to seeing what colours you choose. Cheers, Steve -
Thanks again Anton, love your enthusiasm for this one!! I know right!! Thanks for having a look Tom. Cheers, Steve

Hi fellas, got this finished up a few hours ago. Here’s a couple more pics. It is now posted under glass. I kept the chassis fairly simple, but it still looks the part I think… I added the door handles and the 300c badge that was modded to the side trim. I removed the badge, thinned it and painted it black. I was going to leave the handles off initially, but I’m glad I put them on. Thank you all for your input and comments. I always appreciate the feedback! Cheers, Steve

Hi all, I have had the idea for this build for years and finally got around to building it. A couple of things I like about these cars, they have a “gangster” look about them, and they have a slightly chopped top look straight out of the factory. IMO they have stood the test of time. The idea was to give it a much more aggressive look, and convert it to a 2 door. The first photo was the main inspiration. So…. Convert the 4dr into a 2dr, and add suicide door handles. Remove the body molding, add a splitter and rear spoiler, mold the front and rear bumpers into the body. The front bumperettes were thinned and “tucked in” flush, the grill is speaker grill screen. Open up the lower front grilles, the 300c logo was removed from the side trim, sanded thin, then installed higher on the body by the door handle. Side exit exhaust in the rocker panel. Wheels, tires and brakes are Pegasus, wheels have several coats of smoke. All the trim is semi gloss black. The paint is Tamiya TS100 semi gloss gunmetal, followed with a light coat of smoke, then flat clear. All lenses have multiple coats of smoke. This is just a simple curbside build with no interior, and only the bottom half of the engine. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the warp in the hood til it was painted, I decided to live it. Thanks for having a look, all comments welcome. Inspiration…. My vision…. A big thank you to those of you that followed along on the WIP. Your input and comments were inspirational and very much appreciated. Cheers, Steve

Hi fellas, this one SHOULD be finished later today. She’s up on all 4’s now! Glass is painted with semi gloss black on the inside. Headlight, driving lights, and taillights were all treated with multiple coats of smoke on the outside. Trim is all Tamiya semi gloss black. The grill is just an old car speaker grill. I had to really fight the urge to put some bright metallic orange on the brake callipers. I think it would have looked awesome, but staying with all black kept it stealth. There are a handful of exterior details to add, finish the exhaust, glue on taillights, licence plate, final wipe down then done! Easy peasy. With the splitter and low stance, the car has quite a NASCAR look to it, so I thought using NASCAR exhaust dumps was a good fit. Tucking it into the rocker panel kept the custom look of the car. Taillight lens isn’t glued on yet. The goal was to have dark tint, but still have a red hue to it and hopefully still see the “reflector” in certain light. Hard to tell in the photo, but it worked!! Molotow pen used for the chrome work in the reflectors. Just needs a quick cleanup before I install lens. Hope to a few final pics here later today… So, part of the reason for this build was to test a few colours and techniques for the next build. Keeping it simple/curbside was to achieve a “look”, but get it done quick so I can get on to this… Thanks for having a look.

Another beauty David. I really enjoy your builds. Detail work is fantastic, interior is extremely well done, and the colour really makes it all pop. Cheers, Steve

I’m actually not sure why I like these little cars as much as I do, but really like them. Small cars with big attitude… Your builds are all cleanly done. I did one several years ago, this reminds me that I want to build another. All three are beautifully done Anders, thanks for sharing! Cheers, Steve

Beautiful Impala Ryan. The paint work and details are all very well done. Cheers, Steve

Foose 56 International?

I’m in 100% agreement on both counts here. Real rust sucks, but Mark, your rust /weathering is just awesome. My 2 cents on the front bumper, I think it needs something, and I know whatever you decide it will look perfect. Keep up the great work. Cheers, Steve -
Hello Mike! I really like these cars, along with the Monte Carlos, Regals etc. It was a fun one to build. Thank you Ismo. Hi Claude! This one was posted not long after I joined the forum. The stance on this one turned out really well I think, as you know, I like ‘me low! Things were a little snug under the hood. Dan, I’m pretty sure this would scuff the tires. Thanks for having a look. Hi Keith. I appreciate the enthusiasm!

Thanks Carl, always good to hear from you sir. It’s starting to get the aggressive look I was aiming for.

1963 Chevy Nova Wagon Street Rod FINISHED 3/20/22

Hi Dennis, great looking interior all round. The door panels look fantastic, may I suggest possibly adding some PE power window/door switches too. The sub box is perfect, I’m tucking that idea away for future use. Cheers, Steve -
This is coming along really nice Dan. I think you’ve convinced me I need to get one of these kits. Great colour choices. Cheers, Steve

I definitely agree that the new stuff just doesn’t stick as well as the old. I was wrestling with some of the black foil last night, it’s terrible stuff… I also hope my comment didn’t sound critical in any way it was just a thought.
-
Hi David, Yep… the exhaust is painted and the black tips just peek out the holes, it looks pretty sharp. Photos soon! Thank you Dennis. It was interesting that most of the Chrome in this kit goes UNDER the car. Lots of smoke on this one… I did however install the only actual chrome that will be seen which is the side view mirrors.

Looking really good Bob! The interior colours look perfect. I have two comments on the foil. First, I think you did a great job, it looks fantastic! With the adhesion issue, I’m wondering if the wax is causing some of that? I know the foil these days doesn’t stick as good as it used to, but maybe the wax is compounding the problem? Just a thought. For me, I like to paint, foil, clear, then polish. Everyone has different ideas about that order though. You are doing beautiful work, can’t wait to see this one finished. Cheers, Steve

Thank you very much Anton! I appreciate your kind words. Forgot to mention in my PM to you that the paint is actually a very dark blue on this. Hard to tell in the photos. Thank you Bob. Good ol pro street build, still love the pro street look myself. If I was doing this again, I would use mirrored turbos for more symmetry under the hood, but I’m still pleased with it. Good news is I have some mirrored turbos now for a future build….

Thank you Chris! Hello Anton, I’m going to get some of the TS38. The exhaust looks slick, I did a test fit yesterday. Thanks for the PM too! Hi David! Thanks for the comment, the paint turned out EXACTLY as I wanted, that doesn’t always happen…. Hello Nigel! Thanks for checking in. I think it looks great as a 2dr, I still might do a shortened 2dr hardtop with a slight chop in the future. That Granada has very similar roof lines, thanks for sharing. My early experience with smoke was a little hit and miss, (more miss) but I’m learning some techniques that help. The two main things I’ve learned is: keep the coats light, heavy coats don’t work, and make sure the paint is warm. I’ve been having fun with the smoke. Cheers, Steve
-
Hi Phil! Those two look absolutely perfect side by side. Both beautiful builds sir, as always.

Hi David, long and low, I love it. Not sure if the continental kit is practical, but it looks awesome! Looks like a lot of foil on that one! Very interesting hinge on the hood. Very nice clean build indeed. Cheers, Steve

Quick update, Had a very enjoyable, productive afternoon at the desk. I have everything in paint now except the license plate frame, I realized as I sat down just now that I forgot to paint that. Holes made for the NASCAR style exhaust in the rocker panel. This one won’t have my usual polished aluminum exhaust tips. Just ignore that nasty dust bunny on the rear quarter panel, it’s gone now. body is painted. first a few coats of Tamiya TS100 semi gloss gunmetal followed with a light coat of smoke, partly for a darker shade, partly for a bit of depth. last and most important, a medium coat of flat clear The colour is a bit less shiny than it looks in the photo. I am REALLY pleased with how it turned out, it is exactly the look I wanted. If all goes well, I should finish this one up by the end of the weekend. Thanks for lookin, more soon!
