Hi Dennis, thank you very much sir, it was a fun one. Hi Trevor, yes, it would be an understatement to say it was a little “snug” under the hood. Thanks for the kind words. Nigel !! Thanks for your input in the WIP section, and for following along. I appreciate the kind words. I hope you, and the other UK guys noticed the little British flag ?? on the fuel cell. That was all about you lot across the pond! Cheers, Steve

Hi all, I have always loved the Anglias, but.... I also always thought that their rear fenders were too narrow. This model is also in the “WIP” section if you are interested. So, here goes: Body: - modified hood from flip nose to lift off hood - added ‘37 Ford rear fenders from a Lindberg kit - mesh grill, turn signals from parts box -headlights from a Monogram ‘40 Ford PU - recessed rear license plate - suicide doors - tinted windows with smoke clear - paint is Dupli colour metal cast red over gold base Interior: - dash is modified from Lindberg ‘37 Ford with nav screen added - seats from the J2000 pro street kit, MCG seat belts - tilt steering, steering wheel and sub woofer from Hay’s T-Bird kit - fuel cell with aluminum tube filler neck - power window switches - flocked with painted embossing powder Chassis/ motor: - tubbed and modified for four link rear and front struts - channeled and lowered - wheels from Tijuana taxi kit, tires and disc brakes from parts box - aluminum tubing exhaust tips - motor is from parts box with 3D printed whipple blower - ignition wires and fuel lines added Overall, I am happy with how it turned out. A few issues, but every model is a learning experience right?! All comments and feedback welcome, thanks for looking Cheers, Steve

Hi Gareth, very nice build! I grew up in the back seat of a ‘62 Impala, a family car that had a few long road trips from here in Victoria BC Canada, down to Washington, Oregon, and even California. Love the ‘61/ ‘62 Impala’s. awesome details and “crisp” build sir. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Steve

Hi Roger, that is a great version of the Baretta! Love the Chev rally’s on it, with low profile tires, cowl hood... looks fantastic. Although, I agree with the others, thankfully it did not replace the Camaro. Cheers, Steve

Patina’d 34 Pick Up
Steve H replied to OldNYJim's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Jim, once again you are crushing it!... actually, I guess you’re rusting it. Anyway, your WIP’s are educational, entertaining, and all round fun. I have learned a ton watching these. Definitely going to try out the salt on my next weathered build. One question, do they look at you funny at the local grocery store when you keep coming back to buy more salt????? seriously though, amazing work. Cheers, Steve -
Hi Mark, I had an old can of rustoleum gold that I used for the base, it was a bit thick and thus a bit more orange peel. I didn’t want to sand it because it was bright, and really made the red “pop”. The red is dupli-colour “anodizing” red paint, which I believe is just a clear red. They recommend a silver base, but it looked more to my liking with the gold. The other issue I had with the paint I believe was exactly what Claude T described a few posts up. Thanks for looking sir, cheers, Steve

Hi Russell !! Well, I love the rescue green, having seen that beauty in person, I can say it looks even better than the photos. Your version of candy red is stunning, perfect colour on the truck. Both are beautifully built sir. Hoping to see you this Thursday. Cheers, Steve

Hi Chris, very nice job. I am about to start a similar build on one of these. When they are lowered, it improves the look of the car dramatically. When built stock, they are a bit on the ugly side.... just my opinion. Well done on yours! Cheers, Steve

64 Dodge D100 Pickup Pro Street
Steve H replied to AmericanMuscleFan's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Francis! Man, I don’t even know what words to use. That carb could be entered in any model show and win... all on its own!!!!! Crazy. I think I recall someone else asking what you did for work, I’m not asking, but my guess is a jeweller. That carb, along with the rest of this build is like jewelry! Simply incredible sir. Cheers, Steve -
Hi all, this will be the last update before going under glass. I know I said that once already... Had a fairly productive week, the body is polished up and I am quite pleased with the finish. There are a few areas that are... well, good enough. The colour is exactly what I wanted, and really looks good with the curvy body lines. I will get some photos in the sun when it goes “under glass”. Most of the final assembly is complete now. I used Tamiya smoke to tint the windows, doors are on and work fairly well. Some final cleanup, a few bits to add to the chassis, then I will call it done. Thanks to all on this thread who commented, complimented, and offered thoughts and ideas, it was all much appreciated! As my first WIP it has been fun for sure. I have a quick build that I will start in the next week or so, then I have some ideas for my next detailed build after that. Cheers, Steve

Hello Claude! I believe you may be right, and yes, very difficult to get rid of. I managed to get most of it out, but it’s definitely not perfect. Thanks for checking in sir. Cheers, Steve

Looks great, may I ask what you used for gauge bezels?

Hi Francis! Thank you for comments sir, much appreciated. Here on the “wet” coast, at this time of year , I do the same thing. Set the paint in some hot water for a bit, and usually, that helps. I use mostly lacquers. The base coat of gold may have been part of the problem. At any rate, I will polish it up, and it should look good when done. Patience... Cheers, Steve PS absolutely loving your Dodge build. Can’t wait to see the body and colour on that beast. Incredible work you are doing sir.

Hi Mark, this is awesome. Your weathering is outstanding. I love how the price went from $4.99 to $800 !!!! Looks like a fun build. Cheers, Steve

Oh ya! I almost forgot. For the U.K. followers, I have found a couple of small UK flags in my decal box. Thought I would fit those in somewhere as a nod to its heritage. Maybe one on the fuel cell... dash... somewhere in the engine bay... hmmmm? Cheers, Steve

Thanks guys! I think the whole car should polish out nicely. I don’t usually have quite that much “orange peel” to start, not sure exactly what happened there. Anywhooo I’ll get it polished out and shiny. Cheers, Steve
