  1. Agreed! LOL
  2. I'll be watching how this one progresses as I've had in the back of my mind to attempt a 1/12 scale.......someday.
  3. I am not familiar with static models in 1/32nd scale. What company is this impressive looking build from? As others have commented, you made some nice choices on the paint.
  4. I have this one in my stash and really appreciate your heads up on the fitment issues. Stellar workmanship on your part has produced a beautiful replica of one of my favorite Ferrari.
  5. This build inspires me to try my hand at a building a “daily driver”. Very impressive.
  6. I think the flat black floor provides a nice contrast to the blue and white. Enjoying this build and the results are looking GREAT.
  7. From the look of this project you have considerable talent yourself! I am enjoying watching this build develop.
  8. Zippi - Love the tow truck. Color choices and quality of build look outstanding!
  9. "Made a few tweaks - vinyl top, hood vents, exhaust tips, cut up the dash and added an 8-track player with some tunes, detailed the engine a bit, the aforementioned wheels, etc. - but it’s mostly right out of the box. " You don't do yourself justice! The level of detail and craftsmanship is extraordinary! Beautifully done.

  11. For having decided to minimize the effort you've certainly done a nice job! Very clean looking. The paint looks excellent.
  12. Was the detailing done with a molotow chrome pen? What's your impression with how well that worked? I'm asking as I struggle with BMF.
  13. Thanks Bob. Thanks for the info! Like yourself I am trying different approaches and doing lots of investigation and reading regarding how others approach their painting. I'll spray some spoons and see what sort of results I get using your method. Andrew
  14. Hi Bob, Your stock of winter bodies looks good! I'm at a point where I'm still exploring various painting techniques. Can you share how you thin your craft paints and what psi you shoot at. I'm assuming you're using the Paasche H which I think I've seen you refer to in other threads? Thanks, Andrew
  15. The final product looks excellent despite the struggles. As somebody else pointed out, and I agree, you really captured a nice vintage look. Your resolution of the windshield frame actually looks quite good from the photos. Looking forward to following more of your work.
  16. Very nice clean build with wonderful attention to detail. I've experimented a bit with using craft acrylics but with only mediocre results. Can you share details of how you thin and the apply the paint? I assume the clear coat is what gives it the nice gloss finish? Thanks, Andrew
  17. Thanks for the tip. Looks like a good product and I've just placed an order.
  18. I have both the original and the re-release versions of this kit in my stash. Having read of the windshield frame issue I just checked and the "Special Edition" release which has the blown engine option has a warped windshield frame. I think it's warped beyond use and I will have to get creative and/or contact Revell for a replacement. Zippi - I really like what you've done with the wheels. Despite the challenges I'm betting you'll end up with a good looking model.
  19. Good advice on dabbing the brush on a paper towel. I've started doing so and paying more attention to the "load" of paint that the brush is carrying. Getting a balance between having just enough paint on the brush so I can cover the detail area in one application and avoid having to apply more paint which leads to the clumping and streaking is going to take some more practice.
  20. Thanks for responding .......I've not made enough of the youtube resources.
  21. I hear you on the practice, practice, practice......now if I just get better at learning from my frequent errors! LOL
  22. I will check out the video, thank you for the link!
  23. I will try thinning the Tamiya acrylic and see if that gives me a bit more control of the flow and avoid the clumping and streaking problems.
  24. Another interesting direction to check out, thank you.
  25. Thanks, I will look into these. I have some silver and gold pens that have been useful I wasn't aware of the various colors available.
