Hows it coming on the paint touch up Greg? What did you decide to do? -
I was kinda looking forward to seeing the finished product on this one. Sorry it had to end.

I remember this one in the movie. One tuff looking piece of machinery. Nicely done. Looks like the 1:1.

Yeah I know the flat gray 2X primer I use lays down really nice and is different than the topcoat paint. I put my cans in pretty warm water for about 10 min before spraying and once finished I step back in the garage where it was about 55 degrees. It was around 48 degrees when I painted yesterday and the humidity was around 30%. I did not prime the body this time because I wanted the blue to be a lighter shade plus the Rust-Oleum 2X primer really takes a couple days before it's really cured. Probably a day or two longer in colder weather. Sorry it did turn out better for you man.

Yeah its a shame when you don't have those nice engine decals. I knew better and should have checked. I was in to much of a hurry to get the distributor wired I guess.

Great looking Cobra. The black-white photos look nice. Fantastic build.

Super clean looking ride. Love the two tone colors. I for one like the low profile Wheels & tires. I'm putting them on my 61 Impala and I have them on my 49 Chevy pickup 1:1.

That's a good looking group of Ford's.
-
Thanks Gareth. I forgot to put my 409 decals on the valve covers but I can still get them on.
-
Got the 409 wiring completed and I got some paint on the body. Turned out pretty good for the cold painting conditions I had.

Ok....the paint has sat now for about 45 min. I'm pleased with the results for the paint conditions I had. There is some orange peel but not to bad. I sprayed two light coats and two wet coats letting it flash for 20 min between coats. I had the can of paint setting in warm water until time to paint. I'll clear it tomorrow is the weather is ok.

Thank you Dominik. -
Working on my plug wire boots this morning. This may not be the best way or the way you do it but it's what I came up with so far. I use 30 AWG wire for the plug wires. I buy some old phone wire at Ace Hardware (49 cents ft) that has 4 wires inside. I pick the color of boots I want and strip the insulation off the wire and cut them to length. I run a needle in the end of the insulation to enlarge a little to get the plug wire started. Doesn't looks to bad.

Thanks man. I appreciate you checking yours for me. I can stop fighting it now ☺

Ok...I'm trail fitting the bumpers this morning and I'm not sure of the fit of the front bumper. This pic is the bottom side. Should the bumper fit up close to the body or is the gap on each side normal?

I just finished the 34 pickup. Very nice kit. Will build another down the road.
-
Sounds good. Now if we can just find truck drivers to get them to their destinations.

I stopped by my local hobby shop yesterday and asked about the 30 Model A that is due in this month. I have him holding one for me when they come in but was told he's not seeing anything being shipped and the due date is really unknown. I'm hoping early Spring 2022.

I will report back my results this afternoon. It's 31 degrees this morning so I'm hoping it gets in the high 40's today. There will be sunshine and very little wind. I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst. I made a run to the hobby shop yesterday and bought some Tamiya TS-44 Brilliant Blue spray paint (rattle can) as I thought this would work better than dragging out the airbrush. My plan of attack is to leave the body and paint in the house until ready to paint, put the can of spray paint in hot water for about 5 min before painting.

Nice looking Ford. Good looking color and the decals look great.
