  1. Looks awfully nice. Beautiful paint!
  2. So Rich is requesting that I add brake cooling ducts to the Tiger. What do I do? I make ducts for...the Cobra. Don't worry Rich, the Tiger will have them too! First time I try this. Hollowed out Evergreen 4 mm tube for the inlet and the flex duct cobbled from sprue, thin wire wrapped around and covered up with plumber's tape. Added retainer straps made from 0.25 mm thin strips.
  3. Mark, welcome to the site and posting your WIP. Personally I find WIP sections great because we all support and help each other. Keeps me motivated and pushes me to complete the project. I look forward to seing how you work with resin and will certainly learn something along the way.
  4. Congrats Bruce, it was a lot of work but it works. More rewarding to work with a complicated kit that has nice details than an easy but less detailed kit. You pulled it off and the Sunoco livery is a nice change from the common red Ferrari (if common can be said of a Ferrari)
  5. Then I must add brake cooling ducts to my Tiger!
  6. Michael, never too late to join the party. I read some stories about the 2 Tiger prototypes but did not do a detailed search. Still working on the Tiger but with the big fender mods I did it will fall under a late sixties fictional club racer. The Cobra will be a bit more rooted in reality starting life as csx 2026 but as a privateer car later in it's racing carreer.
  7. And some work started on the interior with building up gauges. Using thin wires for bezels and Micro Krystal Clear for simulating glass.
  8. Chassis are mostly complete and engined installed with some home made plumbing of rad hoses, and expansion tanks & hoses
  9. GTO powered GTO...took awhile to sink in but I dig it. Will follow with great interest!
  10. Wow Mark, this is a superb build. Thanks for showing it again. Need a tip from you, how did you make the deck lid tie down?
  11. Despite the fit issues it has turned out great. You could display it in a shop type setting with front & rear panels removed and standing against a wall behind the car. This way you can see both the great paint finish and the beautifully exposed chassis / mechanical bits.
  12. Looks fine on there pictures. Look forward to see it polished and decaled.
  13. Feeling a little stuck on this duo build, so I did these go give me hope that there is a finish line somewhere out there.
  14. Congrats Tim, this is a beautiful model, like all of your's are.
  15. I hope you find a way through this issue and not lose this great build. PM me if there is anything I can do to help.
  16. Félicitations Thierry! This is a worderfully detailed model...or models. The chassis itself is a wonderful model. It took 2 kits but definitely worth it.
  17. It's not you, it's the kit. The panel contours and curvature just don't match. It's a shame to be faced with this after all the great work you put on this model.
  18. Thanks Mark. Now moving faster on chassis work, interior next and keeping my favorite (body paint & decals) for last.
  19. Thank you Ken. I met Lafleur (briefly) years ago, the nicest and most unassuming superstar ever. I was there at Notre Dame when Gilles won for the first time in 78. A lucky win but it made up for all the previous bad luck. F1 was amazing back then, with all these cars looking different from each other and all various engine's sound signatures. Every year 5 or 6 different drivers would win races.
  20. Mr McNutt, this is a spectacular group. Wow! That transporter must have struck fear to opponents when it showed up at race venues filled with Cobras.
  21. Beautifully done Rich. I've seen a few of these Fisher kits presented but never seen one for real. Seems like they are nice but require work and skills to get good results. Obviously you have these qualities!
  22. Beautiful build Art. I'm no expert but the body appears to be a good representation of the real car. The one thing holding me back is their poorly designed generic chassis/engine that just does not cut it for me.
  23. Engines are always a struggle for me and I am happy they are finally done. I am disappointed is with the Shapeways 3D printed Webbers. I purchased the "high detail" option but they are coarse and poorly shaped. Check out pic 3 if you ever wondered why Cobras handled better than Tigers...
