  1. She's taking shape. I like what you have done with the most basic underbody. I look forward to seing the body cleared and decals. Should be awesome.
  2. Beautiful work. There's something about those metal parts, they look so much like ...metal!
  3. Fill holes that shouldn't be there, carve holes that should have been there. That's what makes the hobby so rewarding. ?
  4. Wow, that toothpick is huge...ha ha!
  5. Really good stuff. These MFH kits seem to require a lot of expertise to pull together. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Magic you say? Can I ship you my 64 underbody so you can use your magic wand on it too?
  7. Thanks Gary, I will then have to make an educated guess. Thinking it was a unique arrangement because no gauges can be seen on the only picture I have showing a partial view of the dash.
  8. Thanks Gary, exactly what I needed. You have any pics of the car's IP in your mega library? Don't know if it differs from the setup when the car became flip flop.
  9. Another cool car from your productive bench Mr McNutt. It's watching so many of your builds and the fascinating stories that encouraged me to migrate from Nascar to road / endurance racing builds. Keep posting builds and putting them in context with the stories. I learn so much from you.
  10. I have received my kit so I am set to do Cobra Roadster #1 as committed. I also have HRM wheels and tires and a driver figurine I'll try to fit in just for fun. I might have to add a bit of chin in hommage to the great Mr. Miles Body mods should be fun with the significant fender flares and swiss cheese style nose. If anybody has specific info on the configuration of the 427 engine and IP layout please share.
  11. Andy, nice work on the Daytona so far. I've never worked a resin body so this is good learning.
  12. Underbody work on this kit feels more like butchery than surgery but has to get done. Courage my friend!
  13. Next is the 2 engines starting with the Cobra. I'm starting with the kit engine but plan to dress it up a bit. Oil pan is from Harold Bradford (HRM). Ron Olsen designed Webber carbs made by Shapeways. Distributor from Connkur, a bit large but beautifully made. I plan to add Protect oil breathers. I also plan to add some fuel lines but a simpler routing than the oft seen 4 branch distribution (there's only so much my old eyes and fat fingers can handle). I also plan to add a coolant overflow reservoir and associated plumbing. Here's what I got so far, it's a start
  14. By decree of our beloved rule maker, a build done before this thread was started is eligible, therefore our first completed build is Corvette GS #3
  15. Andrew, I was already signed up for the Cobra #1 (csx 2196) Nice art work on my GS!
  16. Andrew, question to the rule master. This has to be a new build, not something already completed right? You know...I just completed Corvette GS chassis 004 - #3. I don't want to cheat but if you want to fill the field...
  17. Very nice. I'd love to build one of these someday. Your mods add a lot of realism to this basic kit.
  18. Andrew, you have so many of these kits it seems like you could build half the field! I'm sure many among us want to participate but just do not have kits needed to do so. Anyhow, I'm happy I finally found one I could do (Cobra #1) and I hope participants will find suitable kits to fill the field. This idea of a group build is great. Thanks for pulling us in.
  19. Just found a pic of it, I thought it was deep yellow but...oh well that was almost 60 years ago.
  20. I used to go a lot, it's only 40 minutes north of here. I remember in the mid sixties a privateer fellow running a yellow Cobra faster than anyone else. Turns out it was god old csx 2002!
  21. That's why I picked #1. A unique Cobra and certainly not a straightforward build but should be a fun challenge.
  22. Wow...this shifter looks like an exact replica. Well done!
  23. Abs, there is only one Daytona coupe listed...and it's spoken for. I'll go on a limb here. I don't have the kit but will find one. I don't know what changes I will need to do but I'll figure it out... Sign me up for this:
