  1. OK Dave, let's review the definition of survivors.... these are not survivors, they are masterpieces!
  2. Pascal, your body work is exceptional but seriously this model should be displayed without it. There's so many amazingly crafted components that will be hidden from view...
  3. Making the littlest stuff is usually the biggest job! Of course this being the sixties only the driver gets them.
  4. Masterpiece Pascal. Looking forward to the rest. Was this the last V12 before Ferrari moved to a flat 12 design?
  5. Thanks Mark. Good news is there are no brush marks to deal with but the shapes of these bodies will require caution at the polishing stage to avoid cut throughs.
  6. Absolument magnifique. A perfect rendition of what may be the most beautiful F1 ever. Beautiful metalized finishes with just a touch of heat stress on the exhaust, the tires are perfectly weathered, I could go on an on. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece!
  7. Primer sanded with 2-4-6-8k cloths and color coats brush painted with Vallejo paints. I mixed up my best guess of a period style dark red for the Cobra and British Racing Green for the Tiger. Color came out smooth and I will give it a day or two before brushing on the clear.
  8. Richard, thank you for sharing this fascinating piece of history. If I understand it right you are working on a Tiger model with will be based on a specific car you were deeply involved with, how wonderful. Can't say that about mine, I just did not have good data to go by so I just made it up and went with a fictional build. You live in a wonderful part of a country which I had a chance to see multiple times on vehicle development rides. Davis Dam, Lake Mead, Death Valley Stove Pipe and of course Las Vegas for city traffic thermal testing. I loved it all so much.
  9. Both car's chassis are done and painted. The last piece was cooling up exhaust pipes as the ones supplied in the kits were not useable. Now moving on to body painting.
  10. Got the little ducts painted and added Pro Tech 0.030 fasteners. Don't think I could handle anything smaller than that.
  11. Thanks JC, I persisted and made it through. Challenging kit.
  12. Your modeling skills are unbelievable. I think I've gone back and forth your slides a dozen times. Spectacular! Going back to the table and looking at my stuff... depressing. I need a new hobby. Whisky perhaps?
  13. Very nice kit, very very nice detailing arsenal and very very very nice set of tools. Looks like you're all in!
  14. Hang in there Mark, almost done!
  15. Welcome back JC. Working on my first Cobra and using your past work as a learning tool.
  16. Thanks guys. Can't help it, I always find these little things to add so my quick builds are never quick builds...
  17. Absolument magnifique Thierry! The level of detailing and all the metalic finishings are so impressive. wow!
  18. Looks awfully nice. Beautiful paint!
  19. So Rich is requesting that I add brake cooling ducts to the Tiger. What do I do? I make ducts for...the Cobra. Don't worry Rich, the Tiger will have them too! First time I try this. Hollowed out Evergreen 4 mm tube for the inlet and the flex duct cobbled from sprue, thin wire wrapped around and covered up with plumber's tape. Added retainer straps made from 0.25 mm thin strips.
  20. Mark, welcome to the site and posting your WIP. Personally I find WIP sections great because we all support and help each other. Keeps me motivated and pushes me to complete the project. I look forward to seing how you work with resin and will certainly learn something along the way.
  21. Congrats Bruce, it was a lot of work but it works. More rewarding to work with a complicated kit that has nice details than an easy but less detailed kit. You pulled it off and the Sunoco livery is a nice change from the common red Ferrari (if common can be said of a Ferrari)
  22. Then I must add brake cooling ducts to my Tiger!
  23. Michael, never too late to join the party. I read some stories about the 2 Tiger prototypes but did not do a detailed search. Still working on the Tiger but with the big fender mods I did it will fall under a late sixties fictional club racer. The Cobra will be a bit more rooted in reality starting life as csx 2026 but as a privateer car later in it's racing carreer.
