  1. This is a 1/20th scale model of F. Cevert's Tyrrell 002 he raced at the German Grand Prix in 1972. The model is manufactured by Ebbro and it was built by me... Here's the real car: Here's the model: Oh yah, the Ebbro kits are fantastic. Thanx for lookin'
  2. How does one load a photo in a topic? I used to load photos from my Fotki site w/o problems...I miss the magic button I'm running everything on a MacBook Air
  3. OK I tried to enter a new topic, but can't load photos from Fotki! I miss the "little magic button" from the old version The "Drag files here" doesn't work or am I missing sumthin' plus...I need the "Preview Post" back, if not things could look ugly...
  4. look under activity in your profile. Ok, so the old "My Content" is now "My Activity"...thanx still adjusting to the new format...seems just when you get familiar with stuff - it gets changed and ya gotta re-learn everything
  5. My only complaint on the new format...can't find "My Content" under my profile. I used this to catch up on posts I was following plus those I had posted. Made life a lot easier than scrolling through everything to find them.
  6. Ebro kits are very much like Tamiya Kits (The guy that started Ebro used to work for Tamiya) Fujimi and Hasegawa kits have a lot more parts/pieces and are very detailed, but everything fits amazingly well. Studio27 and MFH kits are multi-medium kits. Lots of resin, white metal castings, photo-etched parts, etc
  7. Tamiya by far... the Revell kits are good kits, but not as nice as Tamiya Tamiya does have possible steering in their 1/20 scale F1 kits also check out the following companies for F1 kits: - Ebro - Fujimi - Hasegawa and if you want to play with resin: - Studio27 - Model Factory Hiro
  8. Are these guys still around? I have not got a response from the latest site - R&R Vacuum Craft I want to build a model of Ray Crawford's 1954 La Carrerra Pamericana Class winning Lincoln Capri They list a 1954 Lincoln Capri resin kit in their catalogue and would like to get one. Or maybe someone has one they wouldn't mind parting with? Thanx
  9. thanx for all the positive comments, I truly enjoyed building this model.
  10. Bernard, glad to see your still around Chris, ya I snuck one in on ya Ken, the mural is a decal I found browsing on the internet Peter, I do only live 25 miles from Salinas, CA thanx guyz
  11. Cleveland didn't get screwed, they were just the 2nd best team in the NBA this year. Congrats to the Warriors...the best TEAM in the NBA this year!!!
  12. Great Job Peter! I had forgot about this model and you definitely did it justice! good to see you still building! c'ya
  13. Yes, I based the model off of this car...pretty cool, heh!
  14. Having seen a lot of VW Hot Rods showing up all over California lately, I thought I'd try building one. My main influence came from "Heb Rods". thanx for looking'...
  15. Don Grahamn throws a 2-day model contest at the Kalifornia Kustoms Kar show every Memorial Day Weekend in Santa Maria, California. I've never fancied building models of custom cars, but Don challenged us to give it a try. My buddy Raul Perez gave me a couple of lead sleds for this occasion, a Pontiac Bonneville and a Buick "Low-Rider" Riviera. I went with the Buick and wanted to do a "Panel Paint" job on it. Picked up some Pegasus wheels, fat tires out of the parts bin...sprayed the white walls on with a circle guide and Tamiya's white primer. The murals are decals glossed over with MM UltraGloss Clearcoat. I found out real fast, to be good at painting panels - it's gonna take a lot of practice!!! Well any way, here's the Buick: Well, anyway I gave it a shot... thanx for looking'
  16. Good to see you posting again my friend, I was wondering what happened to ya... Looks like you're having fun with the Hornet, I looked at it, but got too many fires going to add another one. Looking forward to see what you do with the car and good luck with your business c'ya
  17. Your search would be: Toys & Hobbies > Models & Kits > Automotive good luck...
  18. I've never seen nor used their primer in a bottle, only have seen it in a "rattle-can" You might try thinning it with lacquer thinner...
  19. If you decant the primer, you won't have to thin it for your airbrush. please note if you're using Tamiya's primer on resin, I've had problems with it "biting" into the resin...and yes I have scrubbed/cleaned the "dickens" out of the resin! No problem with Scalefinishes paint o'er Tamiya's primers, works all the time! good luck
  20. Try using "heat shrink tubing" too cover the wire wrap also... and you can paint teflon with with any of Tamiya's lacquer spray paint and bottle paints.
  21. Hey Roomie... I had a great time hanging with you, Art and John at the GSL. Congrats on your awards, the look on your face when you won them was priceless. For a first timer - I found the GSL experience both humbling and rewarding. I am looking forward to the next one. It was great sticking faces with names I've known for years. Looking forward to seeing you in Phoenix next April. I'll be and sure and let the Monterey Guyz know about your successful GSL and we'll work on getting them to attend the next GSL c'ya Curt
  22. Bill Your comments on my build of the Magic Muffler Fiat are well taken. I tried to duplicate the chassis with what photos I could find. The chassis ended up being about 1/8 of an inch too wide. Hence placing the exhaust headers outside the frame rail caused the angle of both to be off. The decals I used on this build are incorrect, but I can't print white decals. The decal set Steve has are correct with the white areas printed on them. Curt .
  23. My good friend Steve Allemand has created a decal sheet for the Magic Muffler Fiat AA/Fuel Altered in 1/25th scale. The car: The decal sheet: The solid black images are actually printed white, they are placed on the model first, then the decals with color/detail are placed over them. Steve included both Vavoline and Pennzoil decals. If interested in acquiring a set of these, you can contact Steve via email at: allemand64@aim.com thanx
  24. I'm with you Harry on this one, Spaz Stix chrome is far superior to Alclad's spray-can and much more durable.
  25. Bill Welcome to the Forum Your timing is impeccable... After reading your article in "Elapsed Times", I just had to build a model of the Magic Muffler Fiat. Also picked up a copy of the issue of "Street Rodder Journal" as well. I just finished building it and posted it on this forum a couple of weeks ago. Here's a link to the post: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=100868&hl= I'll be taking it to the GSL Model Contest at the end of this month The car is even kinda scary in 1/25th scale c'ya
