  1. I did, I'm sure I have a more exciting one in my parts bins. I can still use the Molotow pen if I loose that much sleep over it.
  2. Great look with those tires. I like how you blacked out the grill.?
  3. Thanks guys! I really like the way this paint works so I'm sticking with it. In fact I'm gonna try to go lacquer all of the time. Gotta thank Casey for those 5 spokes.
  4. I would really love to see some company re-issue or better yet make a completely new mold in higher detail of the 2nd gen Blazer. Maybe 1/24. Revell could just tweak their shortbed kit. The earlier(73-74) the better. They could get a lot of variations on such a kit. The market is out there. These 1:1 s are getting crazy popular now. Have you seen how much these things are fetching at auctions these days ?. They are the new Hemi Cuda's ? .
  5. Decided to go a different route with the wheel/tire combo. Saving the Aoshima set for another project.
  6. I agree, detail is beautiful and the paint is incredible! ?
  7. I gotta get a set of those 5 slots. Thanks again.
  8. Thanks Rob. And you get 4 tires for the $12 right ?
  9. At first I didn't realize that you could order a black interior for these years but I really like this color. It's enamel so it takes a little longer to cure.
  10. I'm assuming all the off road wheels he offers fit them also what's the difference with the regular and weighted tires? Thanks. Mike
  11. I think those are so you can get the interior tub in after it is finished.
  12. That air cleaner is a little plain looking but these finned valve covers bring a little gingerbread to the party.
  13. Orange parts finished. Preping chassis and interior for paint now. Might go black but I still have a lot of that sandalwood that I used on the big game truck left. ?
  14. I wound up using an old pair of vise grips and a rubber glove (have a box of them for changing my oil and stuff). When you're finished, you can just lay it on the edge over a flat surface while it dries. Just set the vice grips enough so that you don't crush your project. ?
  15. Well this it the orange I ended up going with . I just shot the cab wit clear. The rest of the parts are still being painted.
  16. I assembled the one of the custom wheels and started to sand the tread down on one tires that come with the kit. I wouldn't even mind using these but that's been done to death with this kit. I can remember way back in the 80s when these Cragar SSTs even replaced the Cragar SS as the "it" wheel for a short time. Now most people never even heard of them. A lot of people think they're called Center lines. I think I'm gonna save these for a future 1/18 project .
  17. Looks amazing! ?
  18. That engine detail and hood hinges is some next level stuff. ?
  19. I can remember building this kit as a kid. Back when I thought brush painting the body was a nifty way to go . I must have gotten it as a birthday present or something . I can remember asking my dad what a Mo Jave (enunciating the J )was, then he told me the correct pronunciation. That's how long ago that was. ?
  20. Nice. These were quite popular here in the states as well back in the 70s in hardtop and convertible form.
  21. I actually wired the ignition on these (although poorly lit) with Accel colored wire and photo etched looms on both engines. I used the Molotow paint on the air cleaner and valve covers. You can see my sloppy job filling in the gas cap hole with J B Weld. I guess it still needed a little more sanding. These Super Swampers are nice. I hope someone puts them out in a set again.
