I mean, that's actually a paper model, done on heavy card stock, panel lines drawn with an ink pen, right? It's uncomfortable to even look at it. Imagine what happens after you open the box and look inside.

Did the search function reset with the update? It seems no posts before the update are found using a (very general) keyword search; -
Looking for a good airbrush
Casey replied to planesandcars's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Airbrushes have been around for a long time, and while makes and models change and evolve, there are literally 100+ "Which airbrush...?" topics on this forum alone. Yes, you will need to read through them and take out the advice which applies to you and your intended use, but please don't disregard fellow members' advice and help because the posts are "old". Post age has very little do do with selecting and properly using an airbrush. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/73170-buying-my-first-airbrush-questions/?page=1 -
Looks like it had the Kelsey-Hayes "Stripper" wheels leftover(?) from the Countdown series issue, the same optional wheels as found in the reissued '53 Corvette.

Please continue that thought.

It's a beautiful thing to have Model Empire as my local hobby shop, and even better that they stock a good number of OOP kits, and at reasonable prices, too.

Question about an AMT single axle trailer
Casey replied to VW93's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have the four wheel trailer from the last reissue of the Fireball 500 kit. I'm just curious why the trailers are different, what changed, etc. -
I think many were miffed back in '88 when Revell released both a chopped 3- window Coupe and Phaeton kits...in 1/16 scale. Both were state of the art then, and that was a high point for Revell in terms of design an engineering, but we all know how snobby we can be regarding our preferred scales. I am surprised they haven't tackled a '33/'34, but maybe the demand is satisfied by the snap-together '34?

This was not the ex-Lindberg 1/20 scale GMC High Rider pickup kit I was expecting: I was thinking it'd be the red, super-polished plastic '94+ version, so this is a mildly pleasant surprise. This appears to be the Baja Racer version (though not the factory first gen S-10 Baja), only stock, not with all the aftermarket parts and decals (maybe those are optional and included?). Mike W, did you build this one?

Question about an AMT single axle trailer
Casey replied to VW93's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I was assuming the trailer was the same, and the new axle and wheel/tire pieces were what changed, but it looks like everything is different between the AMT '64 Corvette Raodster trailer...: ...and the RC2 era reissue of the Fireball 500 kit's trailer: The "deck" holes are opposite each other, the leaf springs appear to only have two clamps on the newer trailer (vs. four on the old), the wheel chocks are smaller, and what was that plate shaped piece between the chocks on the older trailer? Here was the pic I found on eBay of an original Fireball 500 kit, showing the ramps, which got me wondering when I acquired the trailer from the RC2 reissue: Here's the original Fireball 500 instruction sheet, showing the trailer parts: -
I don't have anything with maintaining this list anymore, but this could have all been avoided entirely by reading this line from the original, opening post: please keep in mind this list is for companies which produce aftermarket products, not resellers nor mass merchandisers. The intent was not to list every place, business, website, etc. where aftermarket items could be purchased, but rather to list each company who makes the actual products, and their contact info, so it's all in one place here on the forum. Without that limit, anyone could post any online or brick and mortar business which sells anything related to the aftermarket, and again, that was not the intent of the original post. Not sure who updates the list now or if the original intent is still valid or not, but I guess it would be either Dave Ambrose or the lone Moderator, Mike/Xingu would be the people to contact if you'd like something added, deleted, or modified.

I should've noticed the mis-matched color compared to the box art model, eh?

Question about an AMT single axle trailer
Casey replied to VW93's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Did this trailer lose the pictured ramps when it was modified to a four-wheel/double axle trailer? Or did only some kits which included the trailer also get the ramps? -
I had no idea this kit was reissued in 1995 by (then) Revell-Monogram, under the Early Iron Series label, but the contents of that particular reissue can be viewed here: http://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/774/monogram-7553-woody-early-series

No love for the 1/24th scale Model A coupe
Casey replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Counterpoint: Is it an accurate '30 Ford Roadster (Standard or Deluxe)? I haven't the slightest clue as to its accuracy, but add the Roadster into the Coupe and Cabriolet pot and you've got quite the Model A stew cookin'. The cabriolet door filler pieces were include in the Yellow Jacket kit, so I would guess Monogram planned for the body to be modular from the get-go, hence the separate roof section. Comparing the layout of the chrome parts between the Yellow Jacket and Cabriolet, so there's probably no going back to the Yellow Jacket. That might also explain why it was last seen in 1966(?) or so: Tough to beat this one for nostalgia:
