I wonder who wrote that on the envelope, the sender or a USPS employee? Either way, it's spelled incorrectly, and from my experience, USPS has a stamp they apply when you pay extra (key words) for the non-machinable charge, meaning the letter is not sent through the automated sorter. No way for us to know if the sender paid for that extra service or not, but sending the decal sheet in a proper package, and as a package instead of a letter wouldn't probably saved a lot of trouble.

Accurate Kenz&Leslie Cougar Funny Car Decals
Casey replied to Doctordarryl's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Send him a PM for any cost questions, please. Maybe Daryl has a website he could direct you to, also? -
I think you're thinking of spindle-mount American 12-spoke wheels. The 10-spokes are a modern interpretation of the original 12-spokes, but most of the 10-spokes I've seen have a bolt flange, and are a five-lug bolt-on type wheel.

You might be able to make these work, but if you're building the '57 Ford which graced the cover of Hot Rod magazine, nothing like that exists: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=81826&hl=gasser

Why not call around to stores you think might have it and ask if they do? We don't know which stores are in your area, even if they are national chains, so a quick phone call and you have your answer.

It was never in the General section, Skip. There are multiple people, not just one person, participating in this build topic and sharing their work. Isn't that what separates an individual member's build topic from a group or Community Build?

Playboy Land Yacht idea..
Casey replied to oldcarfan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I love reading about at seeing these concepts, even if they never came to fruition. Dean's Garage also has a lot of interesting automotive related drawings, concept ideas, discussion and history, most of which is from the actual designers who worked on the concepts and in the various studios. -
No. There is always a place to post ANY model you're working on here on the forum, but it may not have its own specific sub-section like NASCAR and Drag Racing models do. We've discussed this issue many times, and Gregg doesn't want to change the categories, so we accept that and work with what we have.

missing parts for a DM distributor?
Casey replied to Mrdarkmonkey96's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It looks like all parts are present, save for maybe one on the right side. Most of the smaller pieces are plug wire loom parts, so the distributor, the distributor "hat", the hold down clamp, and on of the larger rings (maybe supposed to represent the lip on which the hold down clamp rests?), should be all you need to use it. -
I agree. The first two sets look too small to me. And ditto on the header.

I just tried it and the pop-up menu does appear above, not below. I would suggest you send Dave Ambrose a PM and ask him about it, Jordan, as he can probably best help you: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showuser=3519 -
Click on the "Edit" button on top of the image in your Photobucket account, Anthony, and from there you can crop and/or resize the image until it's small enough for use as an avatar. I would suggest you DO NOT select "replace original image" when it comes time to save the new, smaller image, though.

The Revell '70 Hemi Cuda kit includes part number decals for the radiator hoses, and maybe the two heater hoses, as well as a bunch of other underhood detail decals.

I remember that, too, but I think the different skins were eliminated when the forum software(?) was upgraded. I recall there were issues when changing between the Full and Mobile versions, too, so maybe the two were related. I don't see any option for selecting a different forum skin anywhere, though.

I don't think there is anymore. Can you try decreasing the brightness of your screen, Randy? Holding down the Control (PC) or Command (Mac) button and pressing the minus ("-") button should work.

IMO the vinyl used for the tires is the problem. Maybe it had to be as soft as it is for demolding purposes, and while it's difficult to compare freshly molded tires to those molded 25 years ago, the new tires are noticeably softer. The tires in the 1/12 Shelby GT500 Mustang kit are much firmer, too, so I don't think it's an aging/chemical breakdown issue. Maybe it's a supplier issue, or maybe they were made softer for easier mounting of the optional wheels. In fairness, I recall the 1/12 Shelby GT500's tires are not exactly easy to install the wheels into, but the tradeoff is those tires returned to their original molded shape after stretching them a bit to get the wheels inside. Plus, they seem a bit thicker overall and were perfectly molded from the start. One of the large diameter rear tires in my kit has some funky molding at the lip/edge, which doesn't allow it to sit evenly with the rest of the tire lip's circumference when the wheel halves are in place. There is only so much room for tires inside the wheelhouses, which you might remember from the very narrow Goodyear Eagle slicks included with previous issues, so I won't fault Revell for limiting the new lo-pro tires' width, but the tires in this kit are a major disappointment. Fortunately, there are other wheel and tire options available, and the balance of the kit is just as nice as it's always been, so there's still a lot to like about this kit. More on that later...
