  1. “I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.” Bill Cosby ...and I've been called worse.
  2. Pickups, Vans, SUVs, and Light Commercial Trucks Post your pickups, SUVs, and other non-big rig trucks here, either in progress or "Under Glass." Yes, the Model Trucks Section has no separate "On The Workbench" and "Under Glass" categories, like the Model Cars section does, but that's the way it is. It seems inconsistent to me, too, but I don't lose any sleep over it.
  3. Daniel, welcome back. None of which Daniel has engaged in. He changed to a new user ID and explained why, so welcome back, Daniel. It must be the heat getting to people lately. Gotta be.

  5. The O.P.s question has been answered. I was waiting for Harry to decide if there would be separate "Under Glass" and "On The WOrkbench" categories in the Model Trucks section, but that has been decided, so I started goign through the Model Care- OTB and UG sections last night, moving any non-car topics. Again, if anyone has a concern, complaint, or issue withe where something is posted, feel free to PM me and let me know. As Harry stated, we don't catch everything, but we do try to make sure things are posted where they belong.
  6. The first 40 pages of Model Cars - On The Workbench hav ebeen cleared of non-car subjects, so if you see a non-car subject there and think it shoul dbe moved, please PM me. Ditto for any other sections. As an FYI, I consider El Caminos, Rancheros and any other vehicles with beds trucks, so that's where you'll find them. If I feel it fits better into on the of more sepcific categories, such as NASCAR, Drag, etc., that's where it'll be found. There will always be debate about what fits better where, so please let's not dredge up that debate again. Let's work with the categories as they are now and accept the changes, regardless if you agree with them or not. Looking at the big picture, what's important is what you post, not where it's posted.
  7. The kit is done and available, so PM Raoul for more details, please. I think there might be more value you offered the engine with the rest of the kit, but I can see how some people would want to build it curbside.
  8. Is it based on this kit?
  9. I get the feeling the plow blade and support for it are three or four pieces at most, with another three or four pieces for the upper light bar/motor/mechanicals. There appears to be nothing included for actually lifting the blade, either.
  10. Looks like the box art has been finalized, and the mirror position corrected:
  11. Pretty close- it's the Banshee III from 1973... ...and Yes, it most definitely showed the "mean" face which was to come debut in '77, inspired by the Banshee III.
  12. It's the newer '41 WIllys, not the original '41 Willys with opening doors. See the pics Gregg posted in post #1. The easiest way to discern between the two Revell '41 Willys kit is to compare the grilles. If it has a horizontal, two-bar grille, it's the original kit. If it has the full grille with many vertical bar and slots, it's the newer kit. Sometimes, as in the "Happy Days" and some of the "Hot Rod" reissues, the grilles were omitted on the box art models, but the copyright date on the box and instructions can always be used to determine the kit's age, too.
  13. Yes, if you mean the end of the vent line, where it passes through the exterior wall. Solid PVC pipe or sheet metal ducting would be an even better choice than the flexible stuff shown in your picture, too. The fewer nooks and crannies and paint residue can get caught in on it's way out (if it gets past both the filter and explosion proof fan), the better.
  14. Are the Truck "Under Glass" and "On the Workbench" categories staying as they are now? I didn't want to move anything until that was decided.
  15. Looks like late August: http://www3.omnimodels.com/cgi-bin/woi0094p?&N=N&P=1&F=RMXS2097&L=RMXS4254&C=SCBRMX The Rat Roaster is scheduled for late Novemeber, the '57 Ford for late December release.
  16. Good point, Lawrence. Let's try to keep this topic about Revell's 2012 announced releases, and keep discussion about where the hobby is headed here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=57564&hl= state of the hobby&st=260
  17. You put the spray booth right next to the furnace and water heater???
  18. Soemtimes people have a little too much confidence in their spray booth's ability to evacuate all paint and vapors when it's located next to or very near potential igntion sources, like a furnace and water heater
  19. One might argue the hobby is surviving because of the over 55 crowd.
  20. Shouldn't at least three of the tires be mis-matched, and one rear tire bald from all the one-wheel peels upon leaving the school parking lot?
  21. I had you pegged as more of a "Caddy Hack" man, Chuck. Wow, does that hood scoop ever clash with the nose of the car, huh? Then again, what doesn't clash with the '70 nose? Looking forward to seeing this one progress, Keith.
  22. Why did you decide to add headrests? One of the advantages of most pre-'69 cars is the lack of headrests, and the fact that there's nothing to catch your eyes as you look down the side of the car, and especially as your eyes pass through/over the interior/side windows. That is a fantastic starting point, though...so clean.
  23. Oh, you're just saying that because the alternator has a bracket and isn't floating in space. Marcos, why the cluttered background in the first few pics?
  24. Tell him no, you want a full refund, and that's it. There's no question negative feedback should be left in this case, so that you can warn others this seller is not to be trusted.
