We had a bunch of snow/ice last week. Yesterday I finally was able to spin my way out of the alley way where my garage is and got the 99 Mustang out on the street.

Cars that grow on you as you get older.

First Gen Barracuda's. For years I HATED that Valiant front end while that backend was all sexy cool. Lately though I have a new appreciation for them. A few years ago one crossed the auction block and I found it to be a very good looking. Other than that there is no mini-van ever made I have liked.....sorry Lee, the K-car was OK but that van.....YACK! -
When I can't do something myself on my Mustang's I do have a place to take them. The place is close to work and these guys are the best. They never fix anything that does not need it. They do not try and up sale anything. VERY honest. Heck, I day my OD cable came loose on my 88 5.0 and not only did they fix it for free (replace OD cable bushing made of nylon), the mech said to get the brass replacement so it will never fail again.

Article from the web........... Today, in-car audio is an essential part of the automotive experience, offering nearly unlimited programming choices from satellite to MP3. But until 1956, American motorists were stuck with but one choice: AM radio. That’s when, in a major milestone in the evolution of car audio systems, Chrysler unveiled a custom record player in several of its 1956 models called Highway Hi-Fi. The intention was pure, the execution muddled. Despite working well in high-end models, poor suspension systems in lower-tier vehicles caused records to skip. Additionally, Highway Hi-Fi could play only proprietary 7-inch records, forcing owners to go out and repurchase albums just to play in their car. -
Back Before the EPA

Oh Man.....poor old Bug. That makes me sad. -
Agreed. Just seemed a bit flat. Did not learn anything new so for me it was a waste of time. I should have listened to myself after the first episode when I thought, meh, I guess I'll keep watching.

Reminds me of the Hotwheels crazies. I sold a "new" HW once on the bay for for $45 cause "I got to have it before you". Of course I paid only a dollar. Love those people.

Wicked stuff! If that were real I'd just make sure she ran and slap of coat of matte clear on it and drive. It's only original once.

Not sure when I'll retire. I turned 60 this year and would like to retire at 68. Not sure if I can but it would be nice. And I will never be board after retirement as I have 5 hobby's....LOL

WOW!!!! Way cool! When my GF back in the 90's needed a new car we went to the Ford dealer to look at these and she leased a 4-door with the optional V6 with auto trans, the 4 banger was slow as a snail with the auto. While we were there I test drove the 2 door with the V6 and 5 speed. Man that little thing was quick.

Are model kits toys. ?
webestang replied to Richard Bartrop's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I just had too..............Google AI says........... While plastic model kits can be considered a form of toy, they are generally categorized more as a hobbyist item due to the assembly process required, which involves cutting, gluing, painting, and detailed building, rather than simple play with a pre-built toy; most model kits are designed primarily for display once completed. Key points about plastic model kits: Assembly needed: Unlike most toys, plastic model kits come in parts that need to be assembled by the user, often requiring tools and skill. Hobbyist focus: The primary audience for model kits are hobbyists who enjoy the process of building and detailing the model. Display purpose: Most model kits are built with the intention of being displayed as a finished product, not for active play. However, some exceptions exist: "Build 'N Play" kits: Certain model kits, especially those marketed towards younger children, are designed to be more playable with features like rolling wheels or moving parts. Action figures: Some plastic model kits can be built into action figures that can be played with after assembly. -
Ever go on a Road Trip in a Classic Car?

Last time I drove my 88 5.0 vert a long distance was in 2014 from St. Louis to Charlotte, NC for the Mustang's 50th B-Day. She also went to the 35th in 1999 (Charlotte) and the 40th in 2004 (Nashville). Drove great each time and got about 24-26 mpg. -
So yeah......looks like I need it all. Furnace and AC. $12,700. Someone put a 3 ton AC unit, WAY too oversized. No wonder my AC cost so much to run. New stuff should be around 20-30% more efficient. I look at it this way. I'll have peace of mind to spend to the rest of my life here with new stuff.

Oh boy. Need a new furnace. The one in my new house was installed in 1993 and WAY over sized for a 900 sq foot home. AC is newer so I hope it will be OK. I'll find out how much in the next hour when the project manager comes to evaluate. Thinking somewhere between 4-5k. Oy!
