Thanks, Tim! It’s time to get stuff done! I started a Runnin’ at Redline, but needed to get this body done and shot. Maybe this weekend, I’ll sit down and write!

Testor’s Boyd Sunburst Orange. Airbrushed. Clear is Testors Wet Look... I’m not a fan. I’d give my remaining stock to anyone who’d pay shipping!

Thanks for the kind words. Some back story... yes, this is probably 25 years in the making. I had the paint buffed to a high luster and was very pleased. Decided to do one more buff....I could see I disturbed the flake. I saw it, yet no one else sees it. It sat on my bench as a reminder to say when to quit. A friend kept bugging me to finish it. Last year, while out in Toledo, I decided to make a list and knock out stale projects. This one came back to life, as did a few others. Taking little bites every day helps to get stuff done. If I run into a snag, I move to another project. So no....I haven’t spent 25 years building this. I’m also doing a write up on it, so pics and articles take time. I recently did a Randall Gremlin display for a friend...that had some paint issues but was completed to my satisfaction rather quickly. I build for myself and to share the build with those interested thru my column. I’m not into power builds or builds for an event. I build to enjoy and really don’t want to spoil that with unreasonable deadlines.

Do I need to clearcoat enamel
George Bojaciuk replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I once did a build for Fine Scale Modeler. Jeff Gordon’s car. When I cleared it, the decals looked liked hail damage. I had to quick find a second kit and redo the body for the review. If it looks good, just wax it. -
I’m not one to post a lot, but I have to say that any dealings that I’ve had with Modlbldr, have been great! No hassle, no drama, no excuses! Tom is just a pleasure to deal with!!!

Printer for Decals
George Bojaciuk replied to Snake45's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I personally, do not like inkjet for decals. I’ve had sub par results, even with the Testors decal coating. Mine run. I bought a laser and it comes with intro cartridges. Meaning they are not the full bore cartridge. New ones are very expensive. Ghost makes a white cartridge but it is also very expensive. However, it can do 1400 pages. If you look at your sheet as 4x6 it’s not too bad as you can multiply that estimate x 4. Today’s printers are cheap but ink and toner are expensive. Don’t prebuy ink. The printers also have a shelf life. I had an HP stop and gave me a code. It needed a print head. 2x what a new printer cost. These things are made to die. -
Drag City Casting’s has just released a hood for this. I just ordered one. Check FB.

Thank you sir!

I sent the display to the owner this past week! You might recall, he commissioned the build. The car and figure were done by someone else. I did the rest! By his reaction...I think he's pleased!

Black Chrome Bare-Metal Foil
George Bojaciuk replied to TransAmMike's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I recently used it in a Corvette interior. I couldn’t detail the trim any better. Laid it on the door panel, burnished it carefully down. Then used thinner to wipe down the high spots. The high spots were chrome! Worked great for me! -

I’ll look into it... thanks! I’ve been compiling pics for an article for my column first. Then I’d post on a forum.

Is there an issue? I’ve had several people try to message me and one never showed up. The other showed up in my profile. If I hadn’t hit it in error, I would never have know it exsisted. What’s up?

OK...just checking!

So why the hard time? This is a “fun” work in progress of a car from my younger days! The car was not stock by any means! This is not intended as a 100 point stock resto... never was!

Catalog states differently. I need to check the NCRS book... At any rate, it will have road pipes anyway...

Yep! ‘65-‘67 used the same rockers. Gas cap engraving is gone as are all the emblems except the fenders. Correct and new will be added to replicate Tony’s car. He use to wake me at 2:30 AM when he rumbled down my stone driveway.

Thx! I couldn’t toss it. Thought I just try a miracle! Thx too, Geno!
