  1. Avoid Reliable Resin. if you do a search here on what you want, I did a limited run of Formula stuff. Greg Wann is now handling any parts. Good guy to deal with.
  2. I recall painstakingly painting my Vega headers white. Only to have it burn completely off in the 1st 20 mins. I redid them in black and it lasted years.
  3. I got tired of my flocking falling out like my hair! Ordered Automotive flocking adhesive and gave it a try. I like it a lot. Has a long dry time but the flocking stays! This is my '55 Chevy Interior. Flocking is Ken's Fuzzy Fur and the Adhesive is Suede-Tex.
  4. Thanks for all the kind words! If you are not on my "Runnin' at Redline" column list, PM me your email. The last offering was a detailed how to. I'd be most happy to share it.
  5. I finally dug out an old project. It's not 1:25th, but it was a blast nonetheless! I started this when I was at GMP. It was a secret project that I was to present, but I was cut loose before it saw the light of day. Its original date was around 2003. A HK engineer got this about 75% the way and I was supposed to carry it over the finish line. A couple of weeks ago, I did just that! This is a 1:6th scale Flathead. The scale is the same as GI Joe stuff, so that's where the toolbox came from. Enjoy!
  6. Aside from sprinkling it with Viagra, you will have a time painting said parts. Get the info from the caster or get replacements!
  7. Nice job, John!
  8. Bingo! I now expect you to try the wire/spring and heat shrink.... AND post a pic! Glad to have been of service! Anyway, years ago I tried wrapping the wire around... After the 100th attempt, with it unraveling, I tried this. I always look at anything for two purposes...project at hand and modeling stuff!
  9. A typical BBC hose is around 2.5". I measured one of mine. Little bigger or smaller may not matter to the eye. You'd need a spring in the neighborhood of about 0.1". The smaller spring is under 0.1" and the larger one is slightly larger. The Internet can be your friend! Automotive assortments may have a 5/32” x 3 1/8”. This should work. Oh... if you use solder, do not use acid core. Use resin core!!!
  10. Agree with solid copper wire.
  11. Find a Spring the size you want, slip it into some heat shrink and watch the magic when you apply heat.
  12. Lol! First car I ever drove was a Cortina!!!
  13. Scale Production has been out for quite some time. My friend bought one almost 2 years ago. Tried getting one but no go. Bought Greg's. Not as complete, but I have what I need to make the model.
  14. I still have most all my article cars. I donated my Yenko Camaro to Roy Sorensen for a benefit auction. The '68 and '69 GTOs were traded to a friend. Later, I got them back, with the '68 having white lettered tires vs. the redlines. It's a good thing they came home....the friend died and his brother put all his stuff on eBay. All the cars have held up well. A '69 Camaro resto that appeared in Scale Auto is 47 years old now, after the resto. When I look at them, I smile...then feel quite old!
  15. Great job! Excellent subject!
  16. I recently did a column regarding my ‘55 Chevy interior. I was quite happy with it.
  17. I bought his ‘73 Nova and I’m happy.
  18. Diecast Zone, commonly known as the D4C. Good bunch of people.
  19. I’ve had a few cans do this. Not just Testors, but Krylon.
  20. It would give me nightmares.... no way. Maybe with adult beverages. ... just maybe!
  21. After years of therapy... you had to pick at that scab!
  22. I did a little CSI work... actually found the button Tim was wearing! The year was 1995!!!! Well not “his” button but mine.
