  1. I tried using Edge again. Cleared everything. I can log in but still get the warning about "connection not being secure". I can, when using the forum connected to http://www.modelcrsmg.com/forums .... change pages of a topic and "like" posting BUT it is inconsistent. You will notice that Edge is indicating that the connection to the forum is not secure i.e. using HTTP: and not HTTPS: If I log in to the forum using Chrome ( or Firefox ) and manually change HTTPS://www.modelcrsmag.com/.... to HTTP://.... then the forum functions normally as I would have usually expected; that is, I can switch pages on multi page topics and leave "likes" per usual. Switch back to HTTPS:// and the issues return. It seems that Edge is letting me connect via HTTP:// (non secure) by default whereas Chrome (etc) are connecting or at least attempting to connect via HTTPS:// (secure) by default. I recall that Chrome has some "safe browsing" settings and something about forcing the user to connect only via HTTPS:// but I can't put my finger on it at the moment. All in all, it still seems to me that the issue lies outside of the end users choice of browser but rather with how the forum/forum host/service provider is managing HTTPS:// or site certificates or something similar. cheers, Graham
  2. and it was for me as well, up until about 3 days ago.
  3. That does seem to be one the patterns. I am using a PC and Windows 11. Out of interest, I tried using a PC with Ubuntu Linux. I was able to log in, leave a "like", change page, etc In other words the forum worked normally. I also noted that the layout of the forum web pages was a little bit different. Curiouser and curiouser - wonder what it is about any browser on a Windows PC that makes such a difference. cheers, Graham
  4. Interesting, bobthehobbyguy can "like" a posting but I still get an error. I am sure the admins will get these issues sorted out. Short term pain, long term gain. cheers, Graham
  5. The internet is a "web" of hosts and providers and some changes take some time ( sometimes days) to propagate throughout. I able to post but I can also edit a post which to my mind indicates that the problem lies less with the basic forum software and more so with the layer between the forum and the user i.e. the forum's host and infrastructure.
  6. I don't think the issues users are experiencing are browser specific. I have tried, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave, and Opera and cleared all of their caches. All behave the same, I cannot "like" a posting, nor can I go to the next page of a multi page posting. I can log in but get a warning about "connection not secure" or "form not secure" yet I am connected via secure HTTPS. And, if you can see this post, then I can still post as well. There is something going on behind the scenes that as a user we are usually not aware. My guess is something more likely related to the forums host and some issue with php or javascript or certificate issue or some other recent update or upgrade. The Britmodeller forum uses the same software as this forum but I have not had any issues with that forum. The only real visible difference between the two forums is that this forum has many more ads which to my mind also points to the comments in my previous sentence. cheers, Graham PS: Not only am I able to post but I can also edit a post which to my mind indicates that the problem lies less with the basic forum software and more so with the layer between the forum and the user i.e. the forum's host and infrastructure.
  7. For the past couple of days I have been experiencing problems similar to what others have been describing. This is a first as up to now I have not experienced any of these problems. Rather than post in the longer thread which has now started to have descended into a more heated discussion and pointing fingers, I will add my observations here. I started to have some issues starting a couple of days ago, maybe three or four. I primarily use Chrome but knowing very well that sometimes changes may effect one browser and not another I tried, a number of times, different browsers - Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Brave. Behavior on all of these browsers is exactly the same whether I am logged in or not which to me indicates that whatever the issue it is not specific to any one or two browsers. There are several things in respect to behavior that I am observing. Logging in. When logging in I get warnings that "the connection is not secure", and "this form is not secure" and this in spite of the little padlock icon on the URL bar indicating a secure https connection. Logged in or not, like other users have been reporting, regardless of browser, I am unable to continue beyond page one of multi page threads UNLESS I "right click" on the next page number or next or last page >> and select "open in new tab" which causes that page or next page or last page to be opened in new a tab. Logged in, like other uses have been reporting, regardless of browser, I cannot "like" a posting getting this error: There may be other issues but not that I have spent any time looking for. Since, these behaviors are being experienced by (many, most, all) users and does not appear to be one or two browser specific then the problem lies elsewhere than users cache, user service providers, model or make of computer, or choice of internet browser. Rather, the issue more than likely lies with the forums host, some sort of php or javascript or certificate issue, change, or upgrade perhaps. Britmodeller uses this same forum software and I have not noted any of these issues on that forum. The admins are well aware of these ongoing issues and are hard at work sorting the issues. cheers, Graham
  8. Very nice. I have taken some notes. cheers, Graham
  9. Very nice. cheers, Graham
  10. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving. I remember these Revell 1/32 scale kits from the early 70's. There was quite a selection including Second World War subjects and modern jet aircraft. I managed to save my paper route money and had a few. I recall the Hasegawa kits but don't recall ever stumbling across any of those other brands. I eventually got one I really wanted and that was the Mitsubishi J2M Raiden. Parts fit was not the best and the fuselage was a bit twisted. I persevered but never did finish it. cheers, Graham
  11. Very nice. Real eye grabber. cheers, Graham
  12. That really looks sharp in that lovely ( emarald perhaps? ) green. Is the interior white or is it a very light shade of green? Well done. cheers, Graham
  13. Very nice. I have not yet built a Takom kit but I have built a few of the MiniArt kits. Not sure if your Takom kit had the interior bits but the basic MiniArt T-55 kits without interior are close to that 1000 part number and no doubt just as fiddly as the Takom; the MiniArt with the full interior ( plus engine plus transmission if you care to add it) is doubly so fiddly than the basic kit. Too much so for me. cheers, Graham
  14. I am not familiar with the Trizact product; I have not seen it locally. Same for the Infini sanding pads. What I do find locally is another 3m product - https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40066306/ 3M™ Performance Soft Sanding Sponge that is more similar to the Infini pads and the Tamiya sanding sponge. I tend to use what I find locally and what I find locally can be hit and miss especially after I find something I really like and can't be found the next time I go looking for it. cheers, Graham
  15. That is an excellent idea and I will give it try. Up to now I have been using 3m Super Flexible Sanding Sheets https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/MMM31851 folded over and used in a similar way. However, being thinner and more flexible they tend to create a less round end. I have resorted to folding the sanding sheet over a small diameter rod in order to make it more round. If you are not familiar with this 3m product, it is a silicon carbide sanding sheet which has a thin flexible rubberized woven backing; maybe about 2mm total thickness, perhaps a bit more. Available in grits up to 1200. cheers, Graham
  16. Cool project. I had '75 Gremlin - 232 straight 6, 3 speed on the floor, bench seats, and would do zero to sixty. I needed new tires and found four somewhat oversize tires and it became my ATG - All Terrain Gremlin. I drove it all over Newfoundland when I was stationed in Gander; over hill and dale and down some old logging roads that if I at that time had better sense would never have explored. I always wanted one with the 304 but was not to be. cheers, Graham
  17. Tamiya tape is great and always have a couple of rolls on hand but local availability can be a bit hit and miss. A very good substitute and what I have been using more and more of is a washi tape product by Scotch called "Delicate Surface Painter's Tape" and is available in various widths. https://www.amazon.com/ScotchBlueTM-Painters-Tape-Walls-Floors/dp/B000BPRGFQ?th=1 And, another is a 3M Automotive Refinish Masking Tape 388N https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036C0PVI/ another is this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M5F0Q2M/?th=1 It is always nice to have options. cheers, Graham
  18. My preference is for using tiny drops of liquid solvent cement as well. The Tamiya extra thin limonene cement seems to work well for this as it doesn't seem to make as strong a bond https://www.tamiya.com/english/products/87134limonene_cement/index.htm Rubber cement works too and as an alternative which is not quite as strong you can also use liquid masking fluid of which there are numerous choices. i.e. https://www.mr-hobby.com/en/product3/category_39/211.html cheers, Graham
  19. indeed, very nicely done. cheers, Graham
  20. I couldn't agree more. I have just recently been smitten with building some Hot Rods and these kits fit the bill. Very nicely done. Just like Lay's - you just can't eat ( build ) one. cheers, Graham
  21. overall this discussion has been quite interesting. I did find an interesting forum noted in a recent posting: https://newkoolestkruzers.forumactif.org/ In French BUT if you are using Google Chrome you just need to "right click" and select translate into English. Very handy and it makes forums in other than English easily followed. cheers, Graham
  22. very nice. Looks good in blue with the wood panels. cheers, Graham
  23. Indeed it does. Very nicely done. cheers, Graham
  24. Fabulous. cheers, Graham
