I’ve been really busy with real life things, so progress has slowed considerably. While trying to get resin headers to fit, I ran into a whole slew of issues. I did manage to get grilled that I ordered from Few Sprues Loose. I got 2 72 Demon, a 71 Demon, a 70 Duster grille. I started detailing the 72 grille for this build. This is a really nice product. Note: scoop is not angled, just an optical illusion from camera angle

I was not at all happy with the seats. I ground everything down and reconfigured with half round. After a bunch of shaping, filing, sanding, they are now passable. I now have an interior.

All I can say is WOW!!!!!! Enzo would be proud.

Wow! The black paint is spectacular!

Thanks Roger, I will be getting one for my build also! Front end solution looks really good, glad it worked out.

Beautiful! I’ll take one in 8 3/4 version, you are taking orders, right?? I can’t wait to see what is next. Keep it up Francis, there is so much more for us to learn from your expertise! -
When they retooled this kit, they should have eliminated the console, or make it optional. A bodies dropped having consoles for 4 speeds at the end of 1969. I wonder if you carefully sliced the decal where the wood grain meets the gauge if it would lay in there better. It might be too brittle now though. I will have to keep that in mind when I build one of mine. What color orange is that? In some of the pics it almost looks like vitamin c.

Sorry to hear about the issues you are having with this one Roger. When I look up all the shots I could find on the car, the only one that you could see any of the front end is in the fire burnout one, where it looks like the k frame or whatever he had under there looks like it was 1-2” off the ground. Even when the front wheels are in the air, it doesn’t look like the wheels drop much, if any. It is hard to tell if he was running 14 or 15 inch wheels on the front when they were not Centerlines. It does appear that the fronts were tucked up really close to aprons. One of the underhood shots I found, he had aluminum panels hiding all the apron and radiator support areas. Maybe he did raise them on the horizontal surfaces. There is a guy on FB that replicated the car, with info from Stepp’s daughter. He might have a clue. I wish I had answers.

Absolutely stellar again. I keep looking for the ring and pinion with 5.56:1 in there!? Seriously though, what holds the axles in, the calipers on the rotors? Incredible job Francis. -
I’m in! The Duster chassis does work with it( slight amount of tweaking and using front inner clip). Duster engine is much better.

Looks awesome. You just nailed it with the Panther Pink. I have a couple jars of it in lacquer from MCW, just waiting for the right build to lay it down( maybe a T/A Challenger, I knew a guy that had one in the 80’s that was stunning).

Really cool concept and build. In real life, that would be a real handful to drive. I am following along.

What a cool concept, something I never thought I would see!

Roger, on my 72 Charger kit bash, the problem was moving the wheel back to fit better in wheel well. I tried flipping side to side and turning upside down, very little difference, as pin for wheel attachment was much closer to centered on spindle. I ended up cutting .020 flat stock, butting it up against the flat pad where existing pin was, then cut a groove behind it in spindle to brace it with a slightly larger piece of .020 behind it for strength. I then cut off existing wheel attachment pin and made a new pin of same size(.080 I believe) and installed in new position.( I drilled and pinned it through the flat stock) I then smoothed everything out so it would only be noticed by pointing it out and wheel would clear properly. It may sound complicated, but it was easier than rebuilding upper and lower control arms or cutting a piece out of chassis. Since you are only looking for a ride height issue, this is why I suggest using the spindles from Charger kit if they will fit between the control arms properly. The difference in height by flipping control arm is not as much as the A body spindle in kit, you might get lucky, not having to go through what I did or remaking completely new spindles.

Do you sleep next to that machine Francis? You just keep us all in awe of the product you put into your builds. Are they going to have the Wilwood script on them too? It should be able to stop on that dime! -
Roger, Truly sorry about the news of your mother in law. If you have the 71 Charger kit, they might work, the difference is not as radical. They look similar besides that from what I remember when I did my 72

That is one thing I definitely can do. I used to paint cars for a living. If I didn’t have 3 different layers of paint, I would just polish it out and call it a done deal. It will probably need about 7 coats over all between sanding steps. I really get in to the fab work that you create. These are the parts that fascinate me. Your fab skills are amazing.

Scott, I will try my chassis that I am doing for the resin one I am doing now on the body from my new Demon kit in a little bit. I will take a couple shots and DM them to you.
