  1. Nice save, Tony! Well done! As to the weathering of the wood, that can be done at another time, and it won't be hard to find some old wood outdoors to see what our Canadian weather does to wood that is left outside! Amazing also what a simple base can do to add to "the story". Nicely done!
  2. Basically box stock from a kit I bought back around when it was released, 1991. Built for the FOX CBP (also posted in the FOX CBP thread). Krylon White and Banner Red on the body. 2 coats of Future over the decals. Enjoy! My 4th completion of 2011.
  3. Thanks, Eric! Thanks, Bradley! I'm please with the results in the end! Thanks for the comments!
  4. Sorry to keep you waiting for pictures...been a busy week! Hope they were worth the wait! It isn't perfect, but I'm happy with the results. Questions, comments...always welcome! Now, get building those Foxes...I started my SVO...now need to make time to take a few pictures! I opened the hood scoop!
  5. I can think of nothing to add to this thread...Simply awesome!
  6. The early run of the cable car had 1/24 on the box. Also on the website. Soon after it was fixed. I had an email exchange with them about it, as I bought it with intent of doing a small diorama in 1/24. I'm still going to build it eventually, but I was disappointed. The kit was originally by Hawk, and somewhere along the way, someone tagged it as 1/24 instead of teh correct 1/48.
  7. I'd love to see how it's done! I love VWs, and models, so I'm interested!
  8. Oh...even got a couple of things on the SVO build started! Two aluminum exhaust tips in place, and opened the space for the driving lights in the front bumper cover. Sanded off the hood and decklid emblems, and glued the engine halves together. Should the hood scoop be open to the air cleaner? Seems any pictures I see on the net don't clearly show it as open or if there is a diffuser of some kind. I can see that the airbox meets the bottom of the hood, but just need to understand how it works...and if I can at least make it look kinda the same in scale.
  9. Decals are on...two coats of future...pictures when dry!
  10. Thanks, Jairus.
  11. Very cool...love the nod to Herbie's #53!
  12. Another amazing work of art, Peter! Awesome!
  13. Here's a question - Is simply posting your completed model photos in this thread the way to submit for the contest??
  14. Only thing I would add is to use a remote shutter button, or use the timer with the tripod - no shake at all! I've been using the macro setting, tripod and timer for most of the pictures I take.
  15. Man, in Canada, I wish we could reasonably get 150GB a month!! I'm paying $50 per month for 60 GB!!
  16. Looks great!! (Good movie, too). They look the same, but each one is different it seems, plus variations in height, and one eye or two.
  17. Some nice "Green" here! Here's my late contribution...'69 Baldwin-Motion Camaro by Revell
  18. Very nice!! Choice of colours, and the execution is excellent!
  19. Wow...Wow...Wow...and...Wow!!! Well done, gents...4 beautiful builds, and not just the Midgets, but the tow cars, too!! Very cool, and just flat out awesome!
  20. I just picked the generic version up after work today, and haven't had a chance to give it a thorough 'grocking'...I took a quick look in the end opening box and it's all bagged nicely, even the decals.
  21. I've been happy using Tamiya Flat Aluminum.
  22. The hubcap looks great! I'd think you could leave at least one cap off...those things were notorious for leaving the rim, at least the ones I've seen around here...we grow potholes big here, too!
  23. Progress is a good thing!! I've been there, Tom...Models do provide a nice diversion for a bit, helps the stress. Good luck on the job front.
  24. Wow...very cool build!!
