  1. Now those look sweet. That's gonna look real good against the black body. 👍👍
  2. Nice grand prix Michelle. That red really pops with the iridescent top coat, looks great.
  3. Great looking build and nice re-use of an old build. This one is giving me some ideas.👍👍
  4. Awesome looking '57. 👍👍
  5. That's a cool build Michelle. I like how you put the louvers on the back window, really pulls off the look. Awesome work
  6. Thanks a ton everybody. I put a real effort into the paint, and that interior. The level of detail I see elsewhere on the forum is a big inspiration for me, I see amazing work everywhere. I didn't want to clutter up things under the hood and chassis, I still feel it's a bit bare here and there. Trying to find that sweet spot between too much and not enough, without the resulting madness. Pretty proud of this one, considering it's my 3rd full build in thirty years and worlds nicer than anything I built as a kid.👍👍
  7. Was it one of these? High accessibility van.
  8. The big hemi would fit the bill. Gonna pay attention to this one. I like that color, there's a guy on YouTube with one in the same color, an old diesel taxi. Check out "perky" at dead dodge garage.
  9. I like the concept, there's something about a 5000 lbs car hauling down the strip that's just cool to me. What's the plan for the drivetrain?
  10. I check out forums for survivor cars, try checking out "for A bodies only.com" .
  11. Awesome Coronet. That red with white interior, stunning combination. Very nice build👍👍
  12. Emmett sounds like a good dog,Tj. Give them a treat for me. Sounds like those neighbors don't have a dog, they have a status symbol. People exploit that breeds protective instinct as such. What kind of dog is Emmett, you said he had to look down at the pit?
  13. Finished this up tonight. This is the old Monogram Heavy Chevy build as a clean daily hot rod. Lowered, swapped the intake and carb, new wheel/tire combo and detailed up the interior with added seat trim and belts. I also added lenses to the lights in the front bumper. Createx pearl black paint and clear coat. This was a fun build of the first kit I ever built, went together with no big issues or problems other than the kit having a slight warp, no big deal. Thanks for checking this one out, feel free to comment. 👍👍
  14. Beautiful thunderbird. Great color choice and I real like that interior. 👍👍. One sharp looking car.
  15. I got it in a trade with a member here on the forum, and I'm adapting the manifold and super charger from the copperhead dragster to fit. Not sure what kit the nailhead was originally from.
  16. Same way I've gathered MOST of my inventory. Old corded headphones as well. All but the smallest diameter is common in those and charger cables. I even found small rubber sheathing that's a dead ringer for radiator hoses from the ones that have the gray braided cloth covering.
  17. Grab a roll of masking paper, I find newspapers break down too quickly and lead to dust issues. Harbour freight might have some,I'm sure home depot and the other box stores will. I clean my booth before almost every use, force of habit, but I know what you mean.
  18. That looks awesome and matches the hot wheels very well. Very nice work with this. 👍👍
  19. I remember seeing something about that,it was a young kid's journal if i remember correctly, the handwriting was all still legible. Icy cold water and no oxygen seems to be what preserved it.
  20. Don, I've had good luck thinning vallejo, and any other acrylic paint, with createx 4011 or 4021. Both with brushing and airbrush. As for tamiya acrylics, their "x" series paints, I'm new to them and picked up a tip here that Mr color leveling thinner is the go to. I picked some up and agree. As for making a "wash", I start around 2:1- 3:1 mix thinner to paint and adjust as needed. I'll mix some up and drag the toothpick or brush up the side of the cup to check how it flows. All by eye, no rocket science. Looks right,is right. For brushes, I've got a good selection of small spotters and rounds in the 1-20 range.
  21. Awesome looking build Luke.
  22. So here's what I've found after an hour. It's sensitive to the paint thickness, big time. And touchy to adjust. This ornament was after an hour of playing around, straight testors enamel silver. It's good for pronounced details, anything shallow, a brush would be better IMHO. The pen is barely open in order to control the paint flow, and I'm "reloading" the nib, not holding the valve open all the time. I'll continue to mess with this, but im starting to think there's better tools/techniques than this tool.
