Those things are in a whole other realm. Never seen them firsthand, but absolutely amazing pieces of engineering.

So the turbos are feeding the blower, the supercharger is "opened up" internally and acting as a overpriced tunnel ram. If I'm thinking right.

I caught an interview on YouTube with the owner of that, they blipped the throttle ONE TIME and lifted both heads. Same car put it on the back bumper, and then the roof if I'm remembering right.

The interior is finished. I'm very pleased how this turned out,and of course Murphy showed up. The only part in the kit damaged was the shifter,so I had to make a new lever and knob. Starting to finish up the chassis, the exhaust broke off so i made them separate. Thanks for looking.

They sound awesome. Very unique

Very nice skyline. You're going to need a bigger place with the speed that you build. And you just moved in.lol

Thanks for the tip, I'll try and not look so close. I'm always amazed at the level of detail some are able to create. Again, beautiful work on this one.👍👍- 103 replies

It was a Mexican built car, a "3" in the vin. Brazil is a "9" I believe. You see why I'm confused about it. It's long gone now, I parted it out after I got out of the hospital.

Question for you. I had a mk4 jetta, no sunroof. Only one I've ever seen, not that that's important. It was an odd car, option wise. I wonder if it was a motorsports shell like you described. Car got totaled on me one month into owning it

The 1.8t and vr6 I'm very familiar with, I've owned and built a few. My last vw was a 2.0t,tsi. Stock engine, mild tune(APR) 6 speed. Fun daily driver. I still have the built 1.8t from my 05 gti, full build big turbo ( gt3076), I couldn't sell that to just anyone, that car could get interesting real fast. It left with another 1.8t, frankenturbo setup.

I recall vw built a twin charged engine a while ago, supercharger and turbo working in conjunction. It was small displacement and not too great if I remember correctly. Not sure if they had them in the U.S.

"Loudest guy in the room". I bet that things limited to 8-10 pounds of boost.

What did you see on the road today?

Isn't this the truth.

These trucks are some of the best I've owned(I've had four) and believe me I was never polite to them. Ford built a winner with these, and for some reason abandoned the formula for a good small truck.

I agree,It would be a cool model,but the branding would make it a 200 dollar kit.😭

I've never been much of a "tool snob", anything that's going to see everyday use is bought quality. I've broken too many junk ratchets, and knuckles, to deal with that. I'm fortunate to have a TON of my fathers tools, mostly snap-on and sk-wayne, proto. Some are probably 60-odd years old now and still going. The only casualty is his flex head snap-on long 3/8 ratchet. That thing was skipping in the 90's and needs a rebuild. And I won't leave it with the tool truck, sentimental value and all that.

Great indeed. I was aware of Navarro, the Jack Gillis article is new to me. Thanks for posting this and the interesting morning read.👍👍

Those were more for scavenging than "boost" in that application as I understand it. Detroit's are the original source for the 4,6-71 blowers.
