I can't wait to see what you're going to do with this. Besides your normal super-clean building style, what do you have planned for this to really push it over the edge to do well in this contest? Lots of paint detailing, I assume? Interested to see how you tackle it

This post resonated for me more than the article. More often than not I'm DIS-satisfied with a finished build more than I'm satisfied. Perfection is the (unobtainable) goal...but trying to reach it is the fun part for me. Not even in a sense of pushing myself to do the best I can do...but trying to do the best ANYONE can do. I'm very unlikely to ever hit that peak...but it's much more satisfying to get CLOSE than to say "well, this doesn't look very good but at least it was fun". Not for me anyway. -
Oh wow! Those are AWESOME! Fun!

I like the look of their sleeves, assuming you can slide the standard 23" wheel in there: https://www.hobbylinc.com/pegasus-23-sleeves-wheels-aluminum:tires-4-plastic-model-tire-wheel-1:24-scale-2398

Terrible Kits You Love!

The Red Baron has a massive chrome gas tank hanging off the back of the chassis, and the Rommel's Rod has a big gas tank on the front ? -
Just won this on eBay - we're planning an informal Rommel's Rod build off on the Coffin Corner when the reissue comes out, but I wanted an original one too...this looked in decent shape:

Ohhhh, you have REAL ones? Nice!!!! I'm envious! These aren't on sale quite yet, I don't think - but Mike (3d Scale Parts) is talking about having them resin cast shortly

Got some cool 3d printed showrod tires from 3d Scale Parts: They're a replica of the old Richard Carroll tires from the 60s - really excited to have a set of these!

I've been using a borrowed McDonalds tray for the past four years, so an actual bench will be a real luxury! Space is kind of at a premium in NYC - I cant build anything that takes up more room than a Big Mac and Fries

My fiancee and I signed the lease on our first apartment together! Planning a wedding early next year, and found a nice place in Brooklyn with room enough for a modelling bench at least

Absolutely amazing John! You're one of my favorite builders, incredible scratchbuilding ability! I may have missed it, but what's the notch cut out of the driver's seat for? -
Ohhhhh, this is cool! I'll be watching!!
