Looking good! I only use Duplicolor or Tamiya spray cans, I've tried others but had problems, so stick with what works! I do have ONE suggestion for your beautiful Chevy, somehow make those rims fit deeper into the tires if you can, and you can! It's one of the things that always bothers me, wheels not seated properly into the tire, it's the kit manufacturer's fault, but as modellers, we can make it better.

That's a great looking convert! Love it.

Very nice collection! I saw a few of those on the strip back in the mid sixties, great memories!

Glue on windshield and how to remove it
dino246gt replied to JerseeJerry55's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Worse than glue, for this build I did not want the sliding window that was molded on, so I sanded it off with a somewhat coarse stick, worked down to medium, then fine, and finally with some Novus 2, it came out clear as ever! This same procedure will work with glue on the glass, but the BEST answer is use a glue that won't ruin the clear plastic, as stated by many, cheers, have fun, NO damage to a model can't be repaired with patience! -
What did you see on the road today?

Here's the part to be removed, some styrene added then re-installed to clear the driveshaft and the diff. I also "mini-tubbed" it, sliced the inner fenders, added styrene then re-installed them:

Land Rover

Here's the one I built, changed the wheels and tires, and put a mis-matched narrow military tire on the hood . -
Opening up panels is nothing to be afraid to try, yeah thin panels break, no problem, keep going and make repairs like you already did as you go, it'll turn out awesome I'm sure!

Steve, it looks great in grey, as your models are always so nicely detailed, this is another winner! Love the rims and stance too, that's not factory stock, what's happening? LOL

It's simply stunning! You've done a wonderful build of that kit, and it shows beautifully! Be proud, congratulations.

Okay, well I don't have either of those, BUT I do have 1/16th Miura and 1/16th Boxer, both from Fujimi, so on THOSE kits that I do have, while looking quite excellent as far as body goes, the engine detail is disappointing. However, I love scratch building and adding extra details, which is far easier to do with mechanical bits, than body work, IMO. So if you're happy to add some extra detail to the parts that won't show closed up on display, or it you just want an accurate large scale piece, they're great! There's plenty of Google Images of any detail you can want, and somewhat replicating them in 1/16th is a lot easier than the smaller scales. I'd say go for it and have yourself a blast!

Nice scratch building! I'll be watching! -
Mid engine cars are "exotic" and there's NONE under 100K, but now you can buy a brand new one for less, amazing! If YOU don't like mid engine cars, fine, there's so many others you can have, but as an exotic car buff for decades, I'm stunned by this new Corvette, and it's price, ah-may-zing! Other cars in it's category are Ferrari 488, Lambo Hurrican, McLarens, NSX, Audi R8, each worth twice or three times as much. Mid engine cars do resemble each other out of necessity, as much as rear drive front engine cars do. If it sells well, and it seems to already have, that'll be the bar to judge if it's a good move by Chevy, but I can't see it failing at that price, PLUS, it brings an American car into the exotic fray, other than the uber-expensive Ford GT. I see a lot of Italian flags at exotic car shows, now we can proudly wave the stars and stripes! Ciao Bella, um, I mean Cool Baby!

Looking for a specific wheel
dino246gt replied to Drago's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't think you can reduce it, there'd be nothing left of it. I'd use it as it is, and it's exactly like the picture, other than the slightly larger diameter.
