  1. Wow, that inside foil and headliner, oh man, that's really nice! Don't forget sunvisors! What an amazing build!
  2. Did a little work on the engine, and got it and the chassis installed, so far so good! Oh but there's not much clearance to the hood, so I'll have to scratch an engine cover, should be fun! It's ALL fun, always, cheers!
  3. I made up some pretty cool wheels, believe it or not, the whitewall inserts from AMT's '34 Ford fit the backside of the Foose tires. I painted the Foose rims gold, then glued the whitewalls to them, smoothed the centers, added decals, chrome rings and filled with clear canopy cement. I drilled out the chrome headlights, man I hate chrome headlights! Especially when trying to drive at night! LOL
  4. I made many body mods, at the rear I decided to have plain fins, and add '59 Caddy bullets into the bumpers. I modified those bumpers, then airbrushed Molotov, and let them dry, for months!!!
  5. So I bought a couple of Foose Caddy kits, just for parts, and the first use of those parts is under the primitive Eldorado Brougham kit. I painted up all the parts from the Foose kit that I plan to use, but the Brougham doesn't have a separate chassis, and it's a multi-piece body! I had to remove the bottom and lengthen the front fenders to fit the Foose stuff, I also opened the hood.
  6. I didn't realize where I was posting, so I really should put this under "on the workbench". Cheers!
  7. I'm still working on this Caddy, or should I say, I've gotten back to working on it. Detailed the interior, somewhat, good enough anyway, polished that black, oh man it's smooth, got the chassis, suspension and wheels/tires on, also drilled out the headlights. I'm leaving the roof and glass for last as it certainly is terrible looking! The whole front bumper/grill will also have to be "re-imagined" as it's too wide and too tall, and just plain too funky! Also have to scratch up some kind on engine cover. Anyway, this thread sure got off track, I hope to bring it back, back to Cadillac, enjoy the progress pictures and comment away, good or bad!
  8. Wow, I hope to see it in Minneapolis this Spring? Seeing it during construction, MAY influence my vote for best road car! It sure is gorgeous, as are ALL of your amazing builds, cheers!
  9. That NACA vent mod is perfect! I like the LP400 best, simple and clean. I love restomods, and your version, besides being greatly improved over the kit, is a dream restomod! I LOVE IT!!!
  10. I don't think I've ever seen painted plastic look SO much like real wood, excellent, and it's a VERY unusual model subject, um, I don't think I've ever seen another one! Great workmanship, (workpersonship?)
  11. I like it too! Very cool!
  12. Search on Shapeways for 3D model car parts and tires, there are lots of 1/16th scale things, and I believe MOST parts can be scaled to any size, maybe. Also take one with you to an RC store, they do have some very realistic looking wheels and tires.
  13. The 3D stuff I've gotten in both 1/25th and 1/8th scale are better than kit parts.
  14. Sort of like the REAL ones! Nice work you did on that, so someday I'll try it, at lease I know it can be done! Cheers, Dennis
  15. Here's how I made the chopped 3 window roof fit better: First picture shows the side body line where the roof part is proud at the rear and the opposite at the front. Second picture shows after I sliced the body to allow me to fit scrap styrene into that slot as a wedge to keep the body lined up. Third pic shows the consistent reveal of the body line from rear of kit roof to front. I guess it would've been easier before I glued the roof on, but either way, it works.
  16. Wow, that' so cool, I've often thought about opening those doors, looks intimidating, how was it to do? Sure looks cool!
  17. Beautiful build on my favorite Ferrari, love it!
  18. Amazing work on an oft overlooked kit, and I've seen this in person, wow!
  19. Here's how I did my interior, and I have a suggestion for you, IF you plan to display it with "doors open". Glue the inner and outer door parts together and fill the seam and THIN the edge before painting. This necessitates removing the pins that the side glass glues to, no problem, it'll drop in after and probably fit better! On mine, the finished product is a bit of a let down because of that door thickness and the gap between the inner and outer, plus the side glass doesn't sit down far enough, imo. Cheers, great kit though!
  20. Tim, that's awesome! Adam, that's cool, but don't race Tim for money!!! LOL Of course, both of you have me beat!!
  21. Here's those same resin rallye rims on my Nova:
  22. Yeah I don't know why all model cars don't include those dry transfer scripts like Tamiya, Aoshima, Fujimi, etc. does. Makes the paint easier to polish and they have a scale thickness to them. I guess it's only because of cost. If an aftermarket company could make them available, wow that'd be so cool!
  23. Beautiful vintage hot rod, I love it!
