Only the 20 gig and 60 gig models are backwards compatible and are commonly referred to as "fat". You must look at the model number on the unit. It must be CECHB or CECHA. They are expensive and the fat models are notorious for problems that many times are not fixable.
I have all of the GT series and know some of the problems with the PS3 as well as the later GT games. At this point I do not believe Sony supports the PS3 . You can PM me if you have questions.
As soon as I saw the leading pic I thought about Chris' 30. Everything about it is just right. Actually, I like it a whole lot more than the Can 'O Worms.
Yes, all of the Gran Turismo Series. GT5 got my attention away from models, GT6 pretty much did the same, and now GT Sport is my daily activity. Hey Jonathan, want to share your PSN i.d? You could PM me here.
No kidding. I have a glue bomb with enough of the specific pieces to make one from the current phaeton, but I'd rather just have a new kit and leave the glue bomb alone.
I can live with the different grille and grille shell, but the way the top is done kills it for me. The original was so graceful but the re-do looks thick and cumbersome.
Stance, front/rear track, and wheelbase always gets me. I prefer an average build that nails all these aspects more than one of the over the top builds that completely botches it.
Steve reposted someone's Wi. NNL coverage on his page last week, but is otherwise incognito. He may have been shamed into hiding after he bragged he was designing new type of tooling for injection molding at home and nothing happened. I got tired of him when his page became a place for him to vent about his illnesses. I'm glad I didn't give him $50 to reserve one of his not-gonna-happen kits.
The Quad-Al has been done in 1/8 scale. Impressive craftsmanship, unfortunately ( to my eyes ) the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. Proportions are way off and it looks clumsy, and has only a passing resemblance to the real thing. http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/hot-rods-and-customs/1952-quad-al-2.html
I think it was over at TRaK where this was discussed, and someone found one car that had the top modified like that. It ruined an otherwise nice hot rod.
There are big round stickers they put on the car with the appropriate lane color. Most marshalls are quite good since it's the racers themselves doing it. If you de-slot, you sure don't want the fellow you messed up last race handling your car.
By the way, those weren't the really fast cars. Go to 7:25

And the new 29/30 Fords. The Slingster too.
One positive I am hoping for is that Round 2 gets a huge sales bump so that some of the vintage kits they have in the archives can be freshened up and released.
I've been thinking this since I heard Revell had closed. If the Revell kits are produced in China, unless the new owners maintain operations in the U.S. would it not significantly add to the retail price having to ship the kits to Germany and then again to the U.S.?
Yep, great place to deal with. I got the AMT 23 roadster street rod a couple weeks ago for $18. Model roundup has it listed for $60, about what I've seen it go for on ebay.
