  1. Perhaps it was whiter and has faded over time? I don't remember any MPC 'Stangs coming in anything other than white.
  2. Contrary to popular opinion I've found the old Testors tube putty to be the best one-part. It has to be put on in thin layers, and takes a long time to dry, but I have projects I did decades ago that are still intact and have not shrunk. I even chopped a 49 Merc in 1982 that held up until I dropped it a couple years ago and the glue joints broke.
  3. I bought a perfect untouched AMT Falcon Ranchero in a fairly nice box. I failed to realize the model was 1/32 scale in a 1/25 box.
  4. Pam still looks pretty good to me. Most likely because we're the same age.
  5. I became a fan of his when I first saw White Line Fever. I saw an interview he had done years later, and he was totally soused. Pretty sad. At least now he is free from his demons.
  6. The Parts Box most likely has (had?) them, but their website is not working at this moment.
  7. Look on your parts trees, that kit used to have a nice dropped axle. It might still be there.
  8. Different bodies I would expect. Here's what the Tamiya looks like:
  9. I think Rob meant the Monogram ZZ Top kit I got the custom parts from the original kit off ebay and have had the idea to use them to make the Street Roadster in the top right pic here, but using the dropped axle from the ZZ Top kit. Complete instructions here: https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/monogram-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/ford/1931-1940/monogram-1934-ford-/
  10. Apparently these are a "thing" these days. Googled and a bunch came up.
  11. Norm at Replicas and Miniatures casts the Monogram '34 Ford wheels and they are in a pack with big and little whitewalls. RM-148.
  12. Way back in the early internet days I needed an email address. Every permutation of my real name had been taken. My son liked dragons but I had to add a second "g" to get it accepted by AOL. It's now over 20 years later and I really do not like it. I'd change it, but I use it on every forum and just don't feel like dealing with the hassle.
  13. A fellow from Japan built this, shows what potential this little kit has!
  14. Unfortunately mine doesn't offer roadside assistance. I have found a few that do, but the rates quoted me for my'98 Durango are more than I pay now even when I add what AAA charges. Yep, the peace of mind is great. I realize it's not AAA's fault for having the policy that won't let them drop the car off without me if the shop is closed, I just wasn't expecting it. I should add that I had two unexpected good things come of this. I took Uber to go fetch my car when it was done, and had a very pleasant experience. I also discovered that there is an Enterprise rent-a-car exactly across the street from the repair shop. Plus, the Uber driver didn't chat me up, and her car smelled pretty good!
  15. My car broke and stranded me. I got it towed to the shop. The time between calling AAA and me getting home was 4 hours, even though I was in the middle of town. I've learned a few things, many of you guys may already know. I didn't, this was the first time I was stranded in almost 50 years of driving. The tow truck that comes to jump your battery is not a tow truck, its a pickup truck. So after they cannot successfully jump start your car, the process of calling AAA and waiting again for them to show up with the tow truck starts over. They will not tow your car anywhere unless the owner goes with it or there is someone at the location to receive it. My repair shop was closed ( 10:30pm ) so I had to find someone to pick me up after the car was dropped. Next time, I'll have it towed home and deal with it the next day. Yea, so this irked me a whole lot.
  16. It's a great model, done by Marty Neyrinck. He always does quality work. Marty frequents the TRaK forums, not sure if he's a member here.
  17. No kidding Greg. This one is in my top 3 holy grails. While I've got enough spare parts to build at least 2, I'd really like to get this in fresh plastic.
  18. Yes, no complaints, great stuff
  19. Every time I see a thread like this, I am quick to point out that I may be the only person on this planet to relieve orders from both Reliable Resin and Arrowhead Aluminum. I'm sure not going to chance that again, ever!
  20. That would be a great one to post on the bubbletop facebook page. If you do that sort of thing https://www.facebook.com/groups/1102325669867051/
  21. Might I suggest block sanding the area where the front fender meets the door? Amt did a lousy job on this when they decided to make the fenders separate. Also, the wheels look just like ones I had on my 79 El Camino. I ditched the brushed aluminum trim rings it came with, for some polished rings from (I think) a 71 Camaro. Much nicer looking IMO.
  22. That's some amazing paintwork, for sure
  23. #15 is from the MPC 1967 Bonneville, both convertible and hardtop versions.
  24. Rob just beat me to it https://www.allpar.com/history/plymouth/1946-1959/diesels.html
