I've had this problem on two occasions, and I can guarantee the paint had been cured for months in both cases. Once was Duplicolor lacquer and the other time was on Tamiya lacquer. The tape was Tamiya masking tape. In both cases the tape had been left on for several days, perhaps more than a week. When the tape was removed, it left behind alligator skin texture. The texture was not tape residue, but a significant pitting or corrosion of the polished paint surface. The damage can only be removed with vigorous colour sanding and re-polishing, provided there remains enough paint thickness to save it. Ironically, on the second occasion I had applied the tape to some of the body, not for painting, but to protect it during final assembly, as it was my closest-to-perfect paint ever and I was concerned about scratching/chipping. Go figure. I still love to use Tamiya tape, but I remove it as quickly as I can following paint application. If you use a dehydrator, remove the tape before putting the model into it. Others have experienced this problem, too, and it has been mentioned on the forum before. It seems to be some sort of chemical reaction between the tape adhesive and the paint. It's very disappointing, especially from a trusted brand such as Tamiya, and double especially when the reaction occurs between their tape and their paint.

Now, that's the cat's pajamas! Everything about it is just right. Love the vision, love the vibe , and so nicely built. Excellent work.

Beautiful Jag. All E-Types are cool, but the early coupes are gorgeous, and your build brings out the beauty of the design. The colour sets it off nicely. Your printed wheels are off the hook. Very impressive.

Was a hardtop version of that kit released as well?

I would try hardwood, such as maple or birch. Not oak, as the grain is too course. An old piece of hardwood flooring cast-off and a few minutes with a table saw should make up a nice trailer load. Weather if desired, or leave fresh cut. Could be stained if you wanted a darker colour.

Great looking combo. That is about the nicest box stock build I've seen of the Revell VW. Impressive work on the trailer. Nice style, and looks perfect for the VW. Very well done.

Digging the Woodie dio, Nicely done. As other have noted, the vibe from the woman is priceless. Very cool.

Gorgeous Cuda. Perfect colour and you did a great job laying down that paint. The engine detailing is well done and very clean, and those carbs are insane. A fantastic build. I love it.

Very cool Porsche. Nice detailing, and good, clean work. The graphics pop nicely.

The sidewall printing does look very clean. Good, crisp detail.

Somehow I have managed to miss this build. Glad to see it's back on the bench. Things are looking good so far. I'll be tuned in for the rest of the build. I have the same kit on the back burner, been stalled for two years now, but hopefully It will be back in action soon. I'm building mine as a '72 with Lusso trim. I sorted the windscreen the same way as you did, but still have a small amount of distortion. I may take another shot at filing/sanding/polishing to improve it further. I glued strips of plastic from the inside of the window frame to hold the windscreen in place. I'll put up a pic when I'm back at the bench to illustrate.

The Tyrrells are looking great. The colour looks perfect. Such an interesting car, from the days when radical innovation in F1 was still possible. I loved those days.

The shade of blue you chose looks fantastic. I like it! So much nicer than the B5 blue.
