  1. I have never consulted a youtube video for any model related issues or techniques. However, I have a project I've been working on that requires a figure to be posed with the car. I've never done a figure before, and I'm completely unfamiliar with the techniques used to achieve the very high degree of realism I require. I've put a lot of thought into how I will approach some elements of the figure build, and working in isolation, I've come up with some solutions. But there are some aspects of the figure where I need outside help to get the desired result, and I'm looking for an online forum that specialises in figures, where I can lurk and pick up some tips. However, I suspect youtube will also come to the rescue for some of that, too.
  2. Very cool build, Mike. I always liked the Tommy Grove Mustangs, and their clean appearance. And of course, anything with a Cammer is super cool. You nailed the look. Well done.
  3. Very cool old school dragster. These things must have been crazy freaky to drive. Very nicely done.
  4. Good looking Mustang.
  5. Interesting project. Looking forward to seeing this come together.
  6. Good looking pair of Camaros.
  7. Very nice, Ray. Stripe delete and black wheels make for a cool, all-business look. I like it. Regarding the kit itself, it is clear if features numerous significant shortcomings compared to the Monogram kit.
  8. Beautiful 911. Great detailing. Love it.
  9. Neat build, Bill. Elegant, yet spooky. Well done.
  10. The AMT '58 builds up nicely stock, too.
  11. Very nice custom Camaro. Stellar paint, and nice, clean work. Very well done.
  12. If you know what models they might be, and if you still have them, you could try posting a photo and someone may remember.
  13. I’m glad you did dig it up. I’m beginning to gather materials to build a replica of a buddy’s ‘67 Firebird, which had an ivy gold interior. Very helpful thread.
  14. Welcome to the forum, John. Pull one of those kits off the shelf and dig in. Don’t be afraid to totally screw up a couple. They make more. Pick one that you haven’t been planning and thinking about. Throw a little paint at it and build straight out of the box. Keep it simple. That should grease your model building mojo. Cheers
  15. From fall through to spring I spend one to two sessions a week at the bench, each five to seven CDs long.
  16. Cool old work-horse. Nice work on the weathering.
  17. Great replica of Jim's Nova. You nailed it. Very nicely done.
  18. Very cool, Phil. That's a lovely replica of a wicked cool dragster. Very nicely done.
  19. Welcome to the forum, Joe. Great place here to get your model on. Cheers.
  20. Nice! Looking forward to seeing this one back on the bench.
  21. That's a great looking Camaro. Very clean and tidy. Excellent work.
  22. Thanks for the heads-up. I never knew this set existed, actually. I dig those skinny cheaters, so I ordered up a set.
  23. For a windshield, I would use masking tape to secure it to the body. I'm big on mock-ups. By the time I finish a model, much of it has been together and apart again dozens of times. It goes a long way to reducing the number of issues at final assembly, though I must say, it does not eliminate them. There is almost always something significant that goes together very well in a mock-up but, maddingly, still doesn't want to fit smoothly at final assembly. Sometimes I wonder if I would be better off not doing frequent mock-ups... at least there would be an excuse for things not fitting at final assembly.
  24. Welcome to the forum, Yoshimi. That is a fine looking collection of stock cars you have built. Cheers.
  25. Fantastic! Looking forward to this build. I have one in my stash, and have spent a lot of time lately planning its construction, and how to deal with the various idiosyncrasies of a four-engine model. Your is looking great. Very nice work so far.
