  1. Welcome to the forum, Martin. Some examples of excellent model building you have posted there. Fine builds, and very creative. Looking forward to seeing more. Cheers.
  2. That is one sweet looking’Bird, Steve. Love the style, nice and clean. Cool colour, too. Very nice!
  3. This build is coming along very nicely. The black on the engine cover looks great.
  4. What's that big lump in the fore-ground? An intake plenum?
  5. Interesting kit. Never heard of this one, but the body shell looks right. I'll be watching to see how this one goes.
  6. Good looking Firebird. Nice work on the decals.
  7. That's a fine looking Vette, Andy. I like the colour combination. Nicely done.
  8. Thanks much for the link. That is the mother of all rabbit holes. It also means that I can now dump that pile of magazines in the basement without my head imploding.
  9. Thanks Mike. Very helpful indeed. Cheers.
  10. Very cool, Tim. A great 80s period piece. The Chevy makes for a nice, tidy delivery. Thanks for posting. Are the tires starting to eat the wheels? In some photos I see some red around the rims that I wouldn't expect to see there, almost looks like red plastic bleeding around the edges.
  11. Love 'em! Both are cool Ramchargers builds with that great period look. Nicely done. Been looking recently for a set of Ramchargers decals for my own JoHan '64 Dodge, but they're getting hard to find.
  12. I dig it! Cool parts box build. That's what model building is all about. Your dragster collection is impressive. Thanks for posting that photo.
  13. Beautiful Pantera, Sonny. You did a great job with this kit, which has its issues. You have massaged this kit into a lovely Pantera. Very well done.
  14. That's exactly how I do it. Works great.
  15. Good tutorial, Jim. Cheers.
  16. Additionally, using a magnet holder can magnetise your tweezers. My go-to tweezers are a fine Triumph watchmaker's tweezers made of carbon steel, and as it is, they will magnetise slightly over time. This makes it very frustrating to handle small parts made of iron/steel, for example, a carb linkage made of .009" guitar string, or a plastic door handle with guitar string pin, etc. I find I have to de-mag my steel tweezers about once a year, or so. I would expect a magnetic holder to aggravate this problem. Not a problem, of course, if only handling plastic, brass, and aluminum.
  17. Absolutely. All common hobby spray booths are inherently flawed in this way. The only advantage to a hobby paint booth is fume removal. Pulling unfiltered air across a freshly painted body can have the expected result.
  18. Yeah, I feel you're right, Roger. I'm exploring other options, including using a photograph of the badges. Still chewing on that idea a bit. I did buy the decal set from Ray's, though. Some other good there.
  19. That looks wicked! Beautiful rendering. Is the Toploader part of the package?
  20. I appreciate your attention to detail. It's worth taking the time to get these things right.
  21. Many thanks for the suggestion, guys. I checked Model Car Garage, but nothing for this kit. I checked Ray's Decals, too. Some very cool stuff there, but as Steve noted, nothing for F-350 or Camper Special. Nonetheless, some other cool stuff on that sheet for a 70s F-series build. It would be nice to see a decent PE set for the AMT Ford pick-up. Given the many-varied build possibilities, and its enduring popularity, it would seem a natural for a PE set.
  22. Does anyone know of a photo etch set for the AMT Ford Super Stones pick-up? I am actually looking for badges for a '73 F-350 Super Camper Special build. If there is a comprehensive PE set out there for '70s Ford pick-ups, it would solve a few problems. Thanks.
  23. Cool! It's good to see one of these kit given a quality build. Neat period engine swap.
  24. Very cool build, Pierre. Your weathering looks spot on.
