Seriously cool short tracker. Very nicely done. Love it. -
How big is your... stash?

Nice looking stash, Keith. Looking at your built-ups, what colour/type is the paint on the mossy metallic green Challenger T/A? It's a great colour, and looks right at home on the Challenger. -

Cheers Gary. Unfortunately, some of the more interesting sports car kits are hidden in behind, including a stack of Ferraris and a stack of GT-40s. -
It's good to have another Canuck onboard, Devin. Welcome to the forum.

How big is your... stash?
Bainford replied to Pierre Rivard's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
554. A few years ago I added a third tier to the shelf, and took the opportunity to organize the stash. I had reached maximum storage capacity, so decided to thin the stash to make room for new acquisitions, and to finance some high-end kits (MFH, etc) and some hobby gear, such as a lathe and a resistance soldering set-up. In my first run through the stash I pulled 130 out to sell (everything on the bottom shelf), 40 of which have sold. Among other things, they paid for my long coveted Harder & Steenbeck airbrush. I mainly sell at our local annual model show, but there hasn’t been one since covid, so haven’t moved any kits lately. -
Very nice work on the Turbine. You have captured the look well. Nice clean work. I attempted one of these as a kid in the 70s, but did a less-than-stellar job of it. I'd really like to take another crack at one of these kits.

You are a man of tremendous and admirable restraint, Dave -
The only other magazine of that nature I read on a regular basis was Popular Hotrodding, but that was mostly in the 70s. Nonetheless, it could be one of those. The search continues.

Many moons ago I had a magazine that I am quite certain was a Hot Rod mag, which featured what I figured at the time was one of the coolest boulevard cruisers ever. It was a '62 Ford Starliner with a Cammer. It had a big effect on me at the time, and I wanted to build a model of it, or at least heavily inspired by it. Over the years I've purchased a '60 Starliner and a '61 Galaxie kits from which I might cobble together something similar, whenever I get around to it. I probably have the magazine in my huge stash, and will dig it out for reference when the time comes. But then this thread appeared with a link to all Hot Rod magazines, and I was glad, as this would be much easier than digging through my daunting pile of old magazines. But alas, I can't find that Starliner article. My search thus far has been rudimentary, but I was sure the cover was a staged cruise scene with the Starliner in the background. This would be 80s or early 90s. Memories being what they are, I probably have this all wrong. Maybe it wasn't even Hot Rod, but I think it was. I'll have to dig deeper, I guess. The search continues.

Yes! That looks fantastic. Nicely done, I'll be using this method for sure. Cheers.

Greg, that is brilliant. And I disagree with your comment about PE. Your method looks much better than PE ever could. One could even take a little section from the top of each tube section, exposing some of the wire passing through it, much like 1:1 plastic wire looms do. You could even install them by snapping it over the wire, rather than running the wire through it. It would make for a cool effect using a black loom on yellow or red wires, etc.

Progressing very nicely. The whole package 'looks right'. -
Things are coming along nicely, Jim. I'm loving that rack of carburetors.

Gorgeous Mercedes, Rich. Just lovely. You did a great job on this model. I have a couple of these in the stash, and I’m eager for it’s turn on the bench. Your comments on the kit make me want to get at it all the more.

Nice effect, Paul. Thanks for sharing. -
Welcome to the forum, Oscar. Nice looking Chevy pick-up.

Welcome to the forum, Greg. You have some diverse modelling interests. I have never attempted figure painting, but have a project underway that includes a figure as a prominent feature of the build, so it's a skill I need to develop. Looking forward to seeing some of your stuff (all subjects). Cheers.
