  1. Tamiya X-22 is pretty tame stuff. I use it over everything without issue, including Testors enamel. However, I would ensure the Testors is fully cured, which can take weeks if applied heavily. Ditto Humbrol enamels.
  2. Cool! I'll be watching this resurrection.
  3. Welcome aboard, Gene.
  4. That is one wicked looking Mustang. I’m generally not a fan of big wheels on vintage cars, but this really works. Gorgeous paint, too. Very well done!
  5. Good looking Autocar. Love those trucks. You captured the rugged appearance well. Looks cool all lit up. Nice work.
  6. Sweet looking combo. The Topkick sure makes for a tidy rollback. Love the GMC 1-ton, too. Lovely work, as usual. Always a pleasure to check out your builds.
  7. Cool Nomad. Love the rake. Digging that colour, too. Well done.
  8. Interesting project. I dig anything Pinto. Don't think I've seen a wide-body build of one yet. Looks cool.
  9. Watching with much interest. Love the Lancia rally cars. Been interested in doing one of these 037 kits for quite some time, and those detail kits are stunning. That engine is looking fantastic.
  10. Cool project, Lee. Really digging that 6.
  11. Year ago Testors re-jigged their paint line, removing some classic colours and adding others. In the process, the name of some colours was changed. Metallic green was one of them. Testors dropped the colour metallic green, and dropped the name jade green, and moved the name 'metallic green' over to the old jade green paint. The clue is in the part number. On the little glass bottles, met. green used to be #1154 and jade green was #1530. Now, met. green is #1530. So, the current Testors met. green is the old jade green. The same is true for Testors metallic blue and sapphire blue. The current met. blue is the old sapphire blue, and the old met. blue colour has been dropped.
  12. Very nice looking Cobra. Nice paint, and super clean build. Well done!
  13. Not an Indy car , but I think the Heller Lotus 49 may have been molded in red.
  14. Yes sir. The Fujimi kit converted to a 1972 with Lusso trim. One of the few stalled projects lurking around the bench.
  15. Just returning to the bench from my usual summer hiatus. Europa project right where I left it last time I sat down here. Trying to remember what I was doing last, getting dug in.
  16. I've been away for the last five weeks, and just now catching up on some of the interesting builds I've missed. This is one of them. Over the last ten years or so I've developed quite an interest in the big, elegant classics, and have been looking into picking up a couple of these old Monogram kits. When I was a kid, my model building buddy built a few of these, and I was always intrigued, especially as they differed so much from the typical simplified Monogram assemblies of the day. I'm enjoying watching this build. Things are looking great, and you've overcome the kit's fit issues nicely.
  17. Yup, me too. Looking forward to seeing this one come together.
  18. Nicely done, triple R. Good, clear, illustrative photos.
  19. Not Bonneville specific, but Slixx has several sheets of drag contingency decals, some of them 60s and 70s era specific, and probably some useful for late 50s, too. Some of these would be applicable to Bonneville stuff. eCatalog Order Ordering System for Slixx Decals (ecsvr.com)
  20. I'm really digging those beach shots. Very cool.
  21. Beautiful Charger. Very nice paint work. Very cool!
  22. The Mustang is shaping up well, Jim. That battery is seriously good.
  23. Now that's one gorgeous Hudson. Super clean build with seemingly flawless paint, and perfect colours. Excellent work. Nice photography, too.
  24. Good looking Dodge. Love the subtle appearance. The engine looks spot on. Nice work on the foiling. Many say foiling is their least favourite part of the build, but I love it. Sure, it’s frequently frustrating, and I often re-do a bit that I can’t seem to get quite right, but that makes it all the more satisfying when you finally nail it, and the whole thing just pops. You’re off to a great start on yours, and as John noted, particularly tidy around those tricky trim corners. Great work.
