  1. Nicely built model, and very interesting colour. Looks good with minimal decals. Well done.
  2. I am very glad to see this build back on the bench. Your brass panel work is lovely. Nice work on the hood opening. Looking forward to seeing more.
  3. The Evolution Silverline looks like a very nice airbrush. I expect the entire H&S line is. I have the Infinity CR Plus with a full range of needles/tips, though I think I've only used the 0.4 so far. It works beautifully, perfect atomisation, excellent control, very smooth. And of course, it is absolutely gorgeous.
  4. Yes, pretty much any clear paint will serve that purpose. I sometimes use Future when a very thin adhesive is needed. I have used Tamiya acrylic and Testors Gloscote also.
  5. Thanks for the response, Joe. All data points are helpful. Thanks for the updated info, Pete. Photography is another of my hobbies, so I have a decent working grasp of temperature, and the white balance considerations it brings about. The CRI is an interesting consideration.
  6. Cheers. That explains things better. Very helpful. The MAC valve is not necessarily a substitute for a regulator. I am interested to try one to see how spraying is affected. And yes, I love my H&S. I've only had it for a 1.5 years, but wow, does it spray nice. Silky smooth. It's also my first decent gravity feed airbrush (my un-liked Badger 105 Patriot notwithstanding), which I'm convinced is the way to go. Plus, it's a thing of beauty.
  7. Ah, I see. Thanks for that. I just checked the link. Interesting little device. I use a Harder & Steenbeck airbrush. My compressor and regulator are right beside me when I paint, so perhaps not necessary for me, but I may have to get one nonetheless. It’s an irresistible little attachment that would nicely complete the airbrush package. The reviews are very good, too. Regarding the tip cap, I noticed that. Yes, easy to get too close. I have the standoff attachment, and have not had a need to get any closer than that, yet.
  8. Nice looking Mercedes classic.
  9. For anyone who has watched the video, what is the screw device on the bottom of this guy’s airbrush, directly under the paint cup?
  10. Thanks Pete. Very useful information. I knew some lights show colours better than others beyond just cool and warm, but had no idea what to look for, or what values would be acceptable. Having read this info, I’m curious; does the packaging on any of the lights discussed above have this rating? And, what is it?
  11. Cool stuff, but unfortunately most of the ciggie pack foil I've seen is textured rather then smooth. Years ago I saved several samples from friends who used to smoke cigs, as I thought there were potential applications for it, such as some side trim , or heat shields around turbos, etc.. I have some in silver, gold, and even metallic blue. The Micro Scale foil adhesive works great for this stuff.
  12. Shouldn't gassers have stock frames? I thought that was a rules requirement (along with the requirement for some other stock features such as upholstery, lights, exhaust, etc). This, therefore, would be a shortcoming in the old Revell gasser kits. Or perhaps that was only for the early years of the class. Anyone got the straight dope on this?
  13. That’s a very handsome Bugatti. Nice work. I’ve long wanted to build one of these. I see in spite of the issues it builds up nicely. Well done.
  14. Now that is slick! It looks seriously sinister. Very cool.
  15. Beautiful build. Great style. The bumperless front end looks much better than I would have thought. I like it, very clean.

Nice, Steve. That’s one good looking Chevy. Very cool!
  17. Oven liners and turkey roasting pans are a good source of heavy foil. Cheap at the grocery store.
  18. Yup. Blue Crescent is another name for the Boss 429. This engine has appeared in a number of kits over the years, some of them rather poor. The JoHan Ford Pro/Stocks and Funny Cars have a good looking one. The Monogram Boss 429 Mustang has a nice one in 1/24 scale, and has the nicest set of valve covers.
  19. That's a beautiful Road Runner. Going to be a cool build.
  20. Looking good, Mike. It's going to be a cool rod.
  21. Totally cool! Outstanding weathering and patina, and wicked style. I love it.
  22. Very cool!! Great execution. That’s one of the neatest things I’ve seen in a long time.
  23. These rings were made from aluminum tube. The small ones are gauge bezels for the small gauges on my Europa build, and the larger ones are for the dash vents. Tricky to make, and it often takes me two to three attempts to get a satisfactory one, but it gets easier and faster as you get in the groove, and they look 10 times better than PE. They are typically .010”-.012” thick, but I’ve successfully made them as thin as .006”. The pucker factor goes up as the they get thinner, so I usually hold up at .010”. That’s a scale 1/4” which is fine for most applications. I can post up a tutorial if there’s any interest.
  24. The black borders look good. Makes the orange pop against the blue. What paint did you use for the blue?
