  1. Yeah, forget scale. It’s size that matters. The difference in 1/24 & 1/25 for these mirrors is a little over .008”. That’s a little over 3/16” in 1:1. Potentially enough to be concerned with depending on how fine you like to work. I do appreciate adherence to scale accuracy. Kit mirrors are rarely in scale anyway. And to that end, since I have a Europa in the garage with Sebring mirrors, I measured them at the widest point of the housing and found the Tamiya mirrors are almost a half inch oversize. That maybe more than you are willing to allow. Especially since the Sprite is such a small car. That is, if it is in fact Sebring Mach 1 mirrors on your car. There are a couple copies on the market , and they may not be the same size as the originals. Just food for thought.
  2. Nice Frog Eye. The 'flat bottom' mirrors look like Sebring Mach 1 mirrors. Many Lotus Europas were fitted with these, and the Tamiya Europa Special kit has a good representation of a pair of these. The round mirror looks a lot like ones that came in [some?] AMT '68 Shelbys. Apologies for the filth on the Shelbys in the photos, they are old models in serious need of cleaning/restoration (the all black car being my oldest surviving build). The chrome sprue is from the Tamiya Europa.

    Datsun 280Z

Nice looking Datsun. Such a nice design. The Z really is a great looking car. Good looking model.
  4. Micro Scale foil adhesive is worth considering for applying the mylar (or Rolo foil, as the case may be).
  5. That’s a great looking coupe. Love the style. Very clean. Very cool.
  6. Really digging this one, Mike. Looking cool.
  7. Great looking T. Your perseverance on this project is paying off. Nice work.
  8. Love that colour. It’s coming along nicely.
  9. Cool project. Looking forward to watching this one. The soft top is a neat piece.
  10. Lovely Camaro. Really digging that colour, and the wheels look great. Nicely done.
  11. Yup, that will catch ‘em off guard at the stop light. Can’t beat steelies. Nice work.
  12. Oh, very nice Z. Beautiful build, and great colour. I love it!
  13. Nice clean Vette. Very sharp.
  14. Cool looking hauler, and neat story about the decals. How neat is that. That green Galaxie is super sweet, too.
  15. That is one of the neatest builds I've seen of this kit. I dig the stock fleet look. Nicely done.
  16. Nice work on the Chaparral. What a great looking race car. I'd like to build one of these to display with my Monogram build, but as others have noted, the prices are a bit crazy right now. I'd like to see this one reissued. Here's hoping.
  17. Nice work, Gary. Beautiful rendition of a beautiful Ferrari. I really dig the first, black & white photo.

    30 model A

Very cool looking rod, Tom. I love the old school vibe. Very nicely done.
  19. Super cool '56! Love it.
  20. Wow, that is some very impressive weathering. Very realistic. You have a real knack for building a distressed model. Excellent work!
  21. The build is coming along nicely, Charlie. Those wheels are a work of art. Beautiful work on everything. Really digging that Bug project, too. Man, that would have been a wild looking machine.
  22. Man, there sure is a ton of work in this build. Those belts look great, Mark.
  23. I’ve been curious about these paints. Do they respond to buffing at all, like some Metalizers do?
  24. I don’t know if this will help or not, but I bought a case at Michael’s that was intended for sports memorabilia. I made the simple wood base. The brass pins are just K&S tube to locate the clear cover, and the black surface is fine sand paper, which grabs the rubber tires nicely so the model won’t slide around. I gave the model to my sister for xmas a couple years ago, and was concerned about the thing being handled by the uninitiated. Ultimately not the cheapest option, but served my purpose when I couldn’t find a decent display case locally.

    MGB GT V8

I love me some B GT, and both of your examples are gorgeous. Excellent work, and really digging the v-8. Nice work capturing the subtle details, the window trims looking particularly good, and I love the wabasto roof. I have one of Chris' GT bodies in the stash, and this thread provides lots of inspiration. Cheers
