  1. Is this confirmed? I thought all the Aurora Racing Molds had been destroyed?
  2. Hey Anne, get yourself a Revell Peterbilt 359 snap tite kit. They have lots of detail, they're cheap and they make a great starter kit for someone getting into building rigs. You'll see many examples of this kit in the pictures on this forum. Quite a few people have built really nice trucks from this kit!
  3. Simply won't do. I need to go 268 miles per hour. Try again!
  4. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH, I'll be watching this one for sure!!!!!!!!! Two of my favorite cars built by the master!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Very sorry to hear that. Hope he gets better soon!
  6. Very nice!!!!!!! Well worth the wait! Thanks for posting those, Dave!!!!!!!
  7. Beautiful work, Tony!!!!!! Those fenders look great!
  8. I feel the exact same way you do Steve! That is MY part, I made it from scratch! I don't care if it is a miniature copy of the real thing, I made it SMALLER which is a big change from the real thing. I only give my masters to one or two casters at the most and they have to be good at what they do. The part they produce is a reflection of my modeling capabilities. If they cast it poorly, the person buying it is going to think the master looked that way. Unfortunatly, there's nothing we can do about it if someone else does decide to buy a copy of our master and start casting it themselves. I just make it a point to let everyone know that my parts are only sold from the casters I specify.
  9. This would make an awesome shelf weight.......you know.....for my shelf....right there in my big display cabinet all lit up nice and pretty!!!!!!!
  10. I had that Peterbilt oval grill screen made in 1/25-1/24 in stainless photo etch. You can get it from Plano Model Products. It's listed in the HO Scratchbuilders Materials section. http://www.planomodelproducts.com/scratch_scq.html
  11. Just a pinch of love .....................................Oh.......and a pile of cash!!!!
  12. Whenever I go to ship something, I use the USPS online postage calculator. You just enter the box outer dimensions, the weight and the destination country or zip code for inside the US and it will show you all the options as far as Regular, Express, Priority, etc. Be sure to get accurate measurements of the box! Don't rely on the size sometimes printed on the bottom of the box. They measure it when it gets to the post office! I had the pleasure of being charged 20.00 extra bucks because the box was 1/8" bigger than I estimated!!!!! They're getting really greedy at the post office now being that noboby sends letters anymore! http://postcalc.usps.com/
  13. The first thing I do when I get any model kit that I open or is already open is to put the tires in a Zip Lock bag, the clear parts in a Zip Lock bag and the decals inside the instruction sheet. For kits I want to leave sealed until I need them, I just pray they'll be safe!
  14. VERY INTERESTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have wanted to build that Western Star ever since seeing the movie!!!!! I had a friend that was a master sculpter and model builder that I was going to ask to make the goblin head for me but he passed away before I could. I think this would be a VERY good selling item. I know a few casters that would probably be very willing to cast it!!!!! It's really looking great so far!!!!!
  15. No problem Jim, actually, the steer wheels and trailer wheels that you used are the most accurate wheels available in resin at this time for use on that truck.. My five hole wheels are a more modern tubeless style wheel. They would look ok on there but they would not be accurate. I plan on mastering a very accurate older five hole exactly like the wheels used on the Duel Peterbilt some day.
  16. Hey Jim, it looks great but those wheels are not mine. The rears on the tractor are from the AMT Peterbilt kit and the steer and trailer wheels look the one's AITM sells.
  17. Hey Jonathan, on that drip rail, I would suggest just sanding it completely off, do your bodywork and after your happy with the bodywork, you can glue a piece of brass or styrene "L" shaped stock back in the drip rail location. That way, it won't get in the way of your bodywork and will be perfectly straight all the way across the sides. Also, if you have any questions about those news vans, I may be able to help as I used to build the real ones.
  18. I have this Dodge extended cab. I remember when it was available, people were avoiding it because the roof is not correct. It slopes down at the rear whereas the real truck has a roof that levels out, flat.
  19. That turned out really nice!!!!!
  20. Your killin me Jim! LOL Someone on Facebook posted a picture of it but it was from above and a too far away. Can't wait to see how it looks all finished!
  21. Anybody heard anything from Dave? He hasn't posted to this thread in a while? Just wondering if there's any updates on these Fords?
  22. All of them are VERY nice!!!!!!!
