I bet if you go to Michael's or a craft store like that, you'll find little rhinestones or something that would look like christmas tree lights in 1/64. The tree on my set is pretty small so it shouldn't be hard to make one.

Can't help you with the "cheap" part but I bought a dragstrip diorama in 1/64 from my Mac Tools distributor. It's really cool. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/NHRA-US-NATIONALS-DIORAMA-HOT-WHEELS-MUSCLE-MACHINES-CAR-DISPLAY-/00/s/NzY4WDEwMjQ=/$(KGrHqV,!i8E5el+JEZyBObk1mGPN!~~60_35.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$(KGrHqV,!ikE6JfP2oYhBOuen,K8H!~~60_1.JPG?set_id=880000500F

Nicest Drag Rims? Where to go?
Ben replied to adabiri2's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
As far as the wheels in the pic on that Fairmont, the front are MPC and can be found in the Firefighter Mustang II prostock kit. The rears might be from that kit as well but they're too hard to see, I can't tell? -
Hey, your kit is number 946! It's really close to being..........wait for it..................The last of the V8 Interceptors!!!!!!

Removing laquer from Resin question
Ben replied to drodg's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I wouldn't do that if I were you!!!!!!!! I've been a resin caster since 1993 and I've seen that Purple stuff (Castrol Super Clean and the others) soak into the resin and ruin it! Not all resins are the same and I'm sure there are some that it won't affect but I sure wouldn't take that chance!!!! The only thing I ever use to clean or strip paint from any resin part is Westly's Bleach White folllowed by a good wash in dish washing soap and warm water. Never had any problems and I have a LOT of resin from MANY different companies! -
You bend it, you mend it indeed...

If it's known that those engines can easilly over rev and blow, I wonder why nobody has ever installed some type of rev limiter on them??? -

Moonlight Modelers Auction last night

What was his user ID on here? -
Every once and a while, someone will list one on Ebay but that's about it. They're really easy to build and I offer resin parts to use with them such as a roof AC unit (modern low profile Dometic) and refrigerator face (as that's all you see when the fridge is installed into the wall) a Thetford Aqua Magic toilet, a Splendide washer/dryer face (again, they are installed in a cabinet so you only see the face), a double bowl sink. A restroom sink that's in a corner countertop and a microwave face. There might be more, I'd have to check.

How To Make Opening & Functional Doors, Hoods, and Trunks
Ben replied to nwmud's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I chopped up a 99 Silverado extended cab pickup kit with intentions of making the front and third doors open and close. I scratch built door jambs just as they are on the real truck and then I was going to scratch build the door hinges exactly the same way the real ones are made so that the doors would kick in on their leading edge (front doors) and the third door would pivot outwards rather than swing so the rear edge would clear the body. Then something shiny caught my eye, so that project has been sittin the box ever since! LOL -
The way I see it, for those that find flaws in these new kits is, don't buy it!!!!! You'll be able to see exactly how the kit looks, soon after it's released because several people post pics and reviews. If you don't like what you see, don't buy it!!!!! Go and build your own trailer completely from scratch exactly how you want it and spare all of us your complaining because the kit wasn't based on your idea of the perfect kit! Most people are just happy that a model company has decided to cater to us truck builders again and bring us all new kits!!!!! REAL model builders can easilly change things about a kit to make it look the way they want it too! I'm starting to realize that there are some people out there that if you handed them a solid bar of gold, they would complain that it was too heavy or they would have rather had it in smaller pieces!

Firt time useing resin parts
Ben replied to Madd Trucker's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Wow, I didn't know that? The Westly's looked just like Windex. Kinda like a light transparent blue water. If you get the Black Magic type try it on a scap piece if you have one. -
If I had a choice of an original issue with the cool box art or a rerelease with a picture of the actual model on the box. I would go for the original even if it cost more. The box art means a lot to me as it brings back memories. A lot of box art back in the 70's especially on truck kits was more art than just a box to put a kit in. I love having all those great old boxes to look at!

Hi Monty! Thanks, that's nice to know! Jim Littiken is a member here and he machined the wheels for me. I found the tires I wanted to use on my Mustang, measured the inside diameter and went from there. I drew up drawings and found some pictures online showing the real wheel for reference. I had them made in two different offsets with a fifth wheel made to replace the molded in spare (it's the same depth as the front wheels) I then contrated RB Motion to make the long lug nuts that were used on these wheels back then. I then machined my own center caps. I don't think it would be any problem at all for Jim to make them with five lug holes. He's really good at machining these small wheels!!!! Here's a link to Jims site http://www.micronitro.net/ and here's a link to RB Motion http://www.rbmotion.com/
