We need pics!! What does one guy say here? Something about it didn't happen if there are no pics.

Flocking from the scrapbooking section
crazyjim replied to Darren B's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I don't care to put money in Martha Stewart's pocket but would be interested how that flocking works out. I've never used embossing powder either. The only stuff I've used is Ken's Fuzzy Fur. -
That's the tune. I can understand lodging a complaint at the local post office, but also the need to inform corporate that you won't tolerate crumpled issues.
-
I'm not trying to start anything either. It's just that a due date was set. What if a big show was coming up and I wasn't finished. Would they hold up the show for me? I'd like to see all the builds, but is it fair to those that finished on time?

I paid good money for a subscription. I held off for quite sometime because I was concerned about getting the magazine in sad condition. Hopefully they will arrive with no rips or tears. If not, I have the phone number and won't hesitate to make a call for a replacement. If I need to, I'll make a real stink and demand my money back. Like I siad, I paid good money and deserve a magazine in good condition.

The due date was June 1, 2010. People who signed up for the build knew that and should have been ready. I voted for the AMX because I love that car and the model was build in great detail and is gorgeous. And no, I wasn't a contestant.

Yeah, Harry. The per copy price is cheaper and I won't have a 40 mile drive so I'll also save gas. I dod have a major concern that the magazine will show up in mint condition, but I'll wait and see. And besides, I figure paying for a subscription somehow supports this forum and I'm pleased to do that.

Thank you, Al. I'm going to get an order going.

I'm confused with all these tires and the ones shown on your website, Alan. Will your tires fit wheels that come in different kits. Those Pirelli P7 tires look pretty good. The prices I found were to order prints of the pics. Why would I want that?
-
Looking pretty good. I'm wondering how you're going to make those scoop things on the side.
-
Nice, smooth painting. Really like the color. Pick whatever wheels you want because there's bound to be somebody that won't like your choice anyway. I personally like the Pegasus Ts. Did you know that they are also available in a 19" version?
-
Fantastic! What scale is it? No way it's 1/25.

Old school is cool.

I did it yesterday - went online and paid for a 2 year subscription to MCM. Hope the issues get here in pristine condition.
-
Welcome Joe. I looked at only 1 pic because for whatever reason I have to open each pic individually - I don't do that. I opened the rear end pic and it looks good and your diorama is also interesting.
-
Whoa dude - that's a very neat looking build. I remember driving a 1:1 with a 4 speed and 260 V8. The little guy had some guts. What color/kind of paint is on that puppy?
-
Sorry Bill & Len but I have to add you to my hate list. The detail you guys put into little model cars amazes me. You get my hate list because I can't do the things you do - but sure wish I could. Do you like to roof of that kit? I prefer the bubble rear window.

Sorry. Never heard of it or saw it - but I wish I did. Nice looking custom. -
I think I'm going to enjoy these posts. Eelco - where did you get those wheels and tires? I gotta have some of them!!!

Long drive - be safe. Take some pics at Kankakee. I bet's it's to watch/drive those buggers. Batavia is a nice area. Used to go over to the VFW for HOG meetings. That was on the west side of the river. The east side had a great burger place. Wish I could remember the name. There used to be vacant land out west on Roosevelt Road. A few miles west of the Ford dealer near Adrian's speed shop (if he's still there).

Pretty cool. That blue one sure has some wheel travel to it. You go somewhere around Rt 59 to run them? Probably not much open land around there anymore. Wait - rock crawlers go slow, don't they. The kids of my best friend were down here a couple of years ago and busted up their R/C car. Very, very fast. They left it with me if I wanted it. If it's free, it's for me. So I spent some time and money and now haven't even started it for over a year. Got a gallon of fuel, spare parts, put on new tires. Can't remember the name ad the only place for parts was Tampa or the internet. I shoulda put it up on Ebay last year.

Memorial Day weekend
crazyjim replied to RJWood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Veterans have a special feeling in our hearts for our fallen brothers and sisters. What would a Veteran like to say to those fallen hereoes? How about this - As long as we live, you shall be loved. As long as we live, you shall be remembered. As long as we live, you shall live. That's the inscription from the Canadien Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The flagpole in front of my house flies an American flag and a POW/MIA flag all day, all night, everyday and every night. A flood light illuminates both at night. The only time those flags come down, other than changing out for fresh ones, is when hurricanes come through. Then I bring down the 3' X 5' flags and put up smaller flags. GOD BLESS THE USA!!! -
I was there already. Telephone provided but no email address. I'll have to wait until Tuesday to call and ask.
