Nice save on a valuable body. I have a couple of oldies I would like to try that technique on.
-
Model Car World resin bodies are pretty good. One thing though, there is no chrome plating for the bumpers or the grille. I have several of them to be built. I built their '69 Chevy Biscayne, and even though I had to re-do the top, it went together fine, and I was pretty happy with it.

Lookin' good!

I really like that one. I got the latest issue of Muscle Car Review in the mail yesterday, and on the cover is a gorgeous red 69 RR with a black vinyl roof. I may do mine to match that car.

Nice!

That is sharp!

g The vinyl roof is not the problem, as it was meant to have it. The problem is that the roof looks chopped.

If they cannot provide the '69 body, ask for one out of the '68 and you will need the clear glass too.

1969 Dodge “Country Charger” R/T by round2
Ron Hamilton replied to Nick Notarangelo's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It was bad, but Revell made good on the ones I bought. Funny, I never finished that car -
I believe that the '68 and 69 Chargers are pretty much the same body, I believe that the modeler has to fill the '69 side markers on the '68 kit and use the decals furnished in the kit, which I do not like and do not plan to use. When the Dick Landy '68 Came out several years ago, I bought a gorgeous set of '68 Side Markers in Turned Aluminum from a company called Auto Atomix, which is now defunct. I am not sure that Revell made corrections of the side markers on subsequent issues of the '68 Charger kit, which included the steelies and Dog Dish caps.

1969 Dodge “Country Charger” R/T by round2
Ron Hamilton replied to Nick Notarangelo's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Revell called their character General Stewart. I guess at the time Monogram decided that their '69 Charger Kit should have the same flavor as the DOH car.I guess their flag was supposed to go across the trunk lid because the car had a Vinyl Roof Moulded in. -
that is the bad one. I would contact Revell. I think the '69 is out of production, but the '68 may be current. They may have some bodies left.

1969 Dodge “Country Charger” R/T by round2
Ron Hamilton replied to Nick Notarangelo's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The DOH kit was originally marketed by MPC, not Revellogram, even though their 69 Charger had that ridiculous flag in it too. It's a shame that Dylan Roof will not get the same treatment that he did to those innocent people. -

Brush painted.

Excellent workmanship, but for me, it would take too long. -
Probably not. I had two of those and both had the bad bodies. Fortunately for me Revell replaced them with no problem. I have yet to finish mine. I understand that some off the later issues had the corrected bodies. All of them had vinyl roofs and mouldings. I want mine to be a slick top, so I am going to swap the body with one from a '68, an do a Bullitt car.

Detail Master marketed several different styles of grille mesh in the past. You may want to look them up. -

That one looks great. I just picked one of those kits today. One of my cousins had one back in the 70's. I have to do some research on the real one for my build. -

Lookin' Good Al. I may see you again next month at the Big Sit. -
I saw this one today at the club meeting. I am very impressed. Seeing it made me work some more on the '62. It's all cleaned up now and ready for primer.

I saw one today at our club meeting, and it is very nice.
