  1. Maybe that is what started me doing these years ago...................... Ed Shaver
  2. I think I'm missing something here ....................... Ed Shaver
  3. Anybody here remember a couple of Phantom transporter trucks being built out of Bill Cushenberry's / A M T's Shillouette/ trailer combination in the 60's ? I remember seeing a nice conversion in one of the model magazines once . This piece of M P C history is just the icing ! Ed Shaver
  4. Shane , I think the supposed International is a Russian "Knock Off. They commonly got hold of our old dies like Packard motors for instance . Still very kwell pieces to have , specially the I T C Mercury ........... Ed Shaver
  5. Kids come all shapes , all sizes , all ages ...................... Ed Shaver
  6. Vince , I know a pin striper / sign painter in Arlington Texas who for years used to DRAW his own ! yeah, this guys work was so good , you had to look at it a minute to realize it was a drawing . Yeah, this former New Yorker was THAT GOOD ! No, it wasn't me . Ed Shaver
  7. This kit certainly looks interesting enough .............. Ed Shaver
  8. Rob, I'll give tha clown da benefit of doubt. meebie he wasn't payin attention to what he was typin in. I've seen people do it before and not just on Evil bay. Ed Shaver
  9. Almost looks like every Cobra kit ever issued so far ............. Ed Shaver
  10. Pat, didn't Arkansas have a vehicle inspection or was the sticker I saw just for over the road trucks ? I remember at one time , you had to show how many miles you drove in Arkansas , you had to pay so much in road tax or buy equivalent amounts of fuel . Ed Shaver
  11. Rob, I have a couple of wooden kits made by Hudson Miniatures . They're not to bad . I've done some airplanes that had rubber bands and yep, they flew real good too. The big issue with Balsa wood is sealing it to take paint , the stuff soaks paint up like , uh....... Ed Shaver
  12. You need to grab a copy of Collectable Automobile - Volume 17 #5 . This issue has all of the Ford T's from the latter years 1925-7. Art is correct in the interior color being a semi Gloss black too. I mention the magazine as the article will show you the wiring used on the magneto coils . Ed Shaver
  13. I just don't an probably never will understand why Ertil / A M T never released either the Oldsmobile or the Studebaker . I saw the 50 Studebaker as a Die Cast in a Wal Mart with Coca Cola markings , then several other colors were added in the Johnny Lightning 1-24th series . I have also seen the Oldsmobile in N A P A stores as a Nascar racer too. Seems like both of these were a win win for Ertil ...................... Ed Shaver
  14. Charlie , will this be a publicly traded company , an LLC , a partnership ? What can you share with the curious here ? Ed Shaver
  15. I must say Manny, yer always on the cutting edge ! Ed Shaver
  16. Most interesting and very nicely done ! Ed Shaver
  17. Charlie , first well said once again sir ! Let me remind ALL of you that A M T canceled a release of the Hogan's heroes Jeep over this very issue back in 1987. Chrysler at that time was going to car shows with F B I agents , warrants in hand and seizing any and all Chrysler memorabilia !!!!!!!!!!! I happen to know cause I was still selling New Old stock Ford parts then . How we ever got ANY Chrysler owned , Chrysler produced , Chrysler merged , or Chrysler related is beyond me . I swore I wouldn't buy a Chrysler related product from that point and I still wont . They can come back to earth , maybe then I'll re consider . Ed Shaver
  18. Joshua , I really like that !!!! That sir is an award winner . Ed Shaver
  19. Personally, I wish states would do away with inspections . I watched Florida do it in 1978. I was also a State inspector in both Virginia and in Texas . Both have very similar laws . Texas has one unique rule mandating all vehicles will have a drivers side Sun visor . Virginia says all vehicles must have operating door latches that work BOTH on the inside and outside on all operating doors . From a monthly paperwork view , it's really a pain ! Course the down side of this is say in California where they will pull a motorist over , site the violator and sometimes impound the vehicle too. Oh , I have some un- issued stickers from Virginia that date from the early 1950's . We had every six months inspections here until I guess about 1983 or so. I was in Texas when they finally went annual . I can photo copy some of the old stuff if anyone here needs anything . Ed Shaver
  20. I really liked what casey said bout some folks being able to handle criticism better than others . hey some folks here jus plain got a chip on da shoulder an waitin fer someone to say something . I don't always agree with what is said about me . However I will never "Lock out" or make it to where my detractors can not have their say . Ed Shaver
  21. Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland , outstanding service ! You can actually talk to Norman on the phone . Model haus , expensive , but like a Snap - On wrench, well worth the product Bare metal Foil , I buy decal paper from him Jimmy Flintstone , yes some of the bodies leave a few details to be desired , but they're affordable . Ma's Resin. Hey the guy has had some problems , but his heart is in the right place . Bandit Resins , I happen to know Ken personally and i will vouch for him and his great wife too. Ed Shaver
  22. Hey Tommy, I have never had nor have I ever needed a "Fish Finder ". Uh thats what we used to call G P S machines . I use Naval charts on the water , a compass and I seem to do fine . I also have an extensive collection of maps . I have maps from Gulf oil dating to 1918 and maps that I have tucked under the seat ................. Ed Shaver
  23. Art, if I were to start a model production company, I would want YOU in charge cause you sir have an UN-beatable track record ! Ed Shaver
  24. I already see some of MUH Fan club have already chimed in before me . I shall add my comments regardless. I've been working on automobiles since I was near 14 years old . I'm 62 now . I have worked on near everything from a 1908 Cadillac right up to a Mack truck . Meanwhile , my personal cars were as simplistic as i could buy as i always hated "Automatic " gadgets . I like Air conditioning , my 78 Ford truck dosen't have it , my 53 never had it and I seldom use it on a 95 Oldsmobile . I like the trucks over having manual transmissions . In the mountains , I have a little more control as I have seen automatics that will shift into a higher gear . I have also had brake failure in of all places Heber Arizona .......... I know one member here who should know the area I'm refering to . It's north of Phoenix . I used to say to folks , "Are you driving the car or is the car driving you ". With automatic transmissions , steer by wire axles , computer controlled whatever , I'm sure that sooner or later , an electrical failure will render you're trip useless. It already has me . The Oldsmobile in now at a Buick dealer with a fuel delivery problem , read very expensive !!!!!!!!!! Edc Shaver
  25. Before I get a rash of BS bout what I have to say, remember ya'll had yers ........................... I actually read what is posted here , even though I don't always agree with what some of you say . Box art that sells ! optional parts , various building options Gather opinion polls re issue kits that have very high auction bids I'll second Cranky's idea to have a , Buy 3 and receive a club discount program feature Examine kits that had been done previously and see what competitive improvements that could be reasonably made to make a kit sale able .
