This eBay seller is nuts...
keyser replied to BlackSheep214's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Same reason people complain about new prices and spend double that driving around stalking Ollies and HL for a deal or a coupon? Or not wanting to spend decades hunting like many of us have done? If people have it, nothing is wrong spending it on whatever you wish. People spending far less with even less wherewithal shouldn't spend on kits or much else unless needs handled. After that, go for it. -
Any word on the Revell '30 Model A coupe ?
keyser replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Comparo of both amt and Revell bodies in one of the big kit threads about them. Great pics too Sure glad the comments by Tim Boyd in March still solid. ??? -
Then people would argue about fedora vs. panama, and shiny side out and matte side out. ??♂️??
-
Buy it back at auction and ship it out?
-
Agree. And Buttera Revell kits dead common, similar rear end, and the awful 34 uses same chassis. Cheap as chips.

SOHC ftw. 1320 did really nice GBP but kit would be great. One of best looking around -

Lol Gary. If YOU don’t have a picture, it may not exist. Fun cars.

Also a fave of mine. 53 in blue is great looking car, really nice model. Put that beside your C-type you built ages ago. Polar opposites but great cars.

Any Idea What Kit These Wheels Are From?
keyser replied to Johnny K's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Didn’t remember backing plates. The 3 locating pins on them seems like a snap kit? Big axle hole, and front side deep, has big bead area “shelf” to keep in tire, maybe push into back of tire? Deep so rear wheels? -

Maybe Polar Lights 65 Coronet? Lugs on wheel backs look like them, but look deep. Haven’t looked at that kit in ages but maybe. -
Modelhaus resin prep
keyser replied to yellowsportwagon's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
You can soak MH and Hiro, others in Blechwite. I’ve wiped down with Purple and Simple Green but I’ve heard too many stories about resin turning to rubbery messes to soak. Purple power can make some older plastic kits brittle as well. Happened to me on a few things I forgot were soaking. Hope Don and Carol healthy and happy. -
Great work. They really nailed the lines on this one. That’s a 993 Cabrio https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_993 Much prettier than 964 of 94. Someone here has a really nice 1:1 Adventurine Green coupe. I forget if they posted here or elsewhere. Last air cooled 911, 95-98 in US Kids had a well loved black Maisto a long time ago. Many play miles. Now I need to find another. Thank you for pics. Nice save

41 60 Special one of prettiest. Had mine for decades I guess. Tiny sag Got these today 720 big probably 1:24 +, didn’t check yet. RS looks close. Mac is Jada, RS is Welly. Needs couple Snake-fu points. 720 needs side markers, no chrome over the windows, couple little things only I'd notice. RS pretty good, Needs Porsche lettering on spoiler top, flatter paint.

Maybe an Elvis refrigerator truck for food? He bulked up late career. Or a Coke BTTF Delorean. Huge collector markets. Buy kit, never build it. Like us, but can't build.

Revell 1/24th scale Jaguar E-Type FHC: Test Shots
keyser replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
No disrespect to OP. Like a kid asking if we're there yet every 12-15 minutes. Lots of 1:1 info in the early thread. Like having 3 41 Ford threads. It was completely different Ranchero, they filmed the scrapyard on site, the ranch scene was at studio elsewhere. Same fake load. Didn't know that until I looked it up today.
-
Yeah, would have been about 7500# adding the gold, another 300-350# for Odd Job. Bad azz airlift springs. Filming they used fake load.

Hey, it can haul 5000# of crushed Lincoln, and lose it's whitewalls between the crush yard and the farm (Goldfinger)

Cobra and XK-E GT hardtops?
keyser replied to Kit Basher's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Never enough coffee. You're correct, both the 289 Cobra and 57 Birds had fastbacks. Agree the Cobra wasn't bulbous, mostly glass. Same with Bird. CRS minimal for now No Jag HT out there that I know of other than resin kit of streamliner. We can hope G-Revell XKE roadster that may come based on the new coupe may have one, and make a LTW possible.
