Fixed for ya... ...seems like it's a US phenomenon more than global.

Really thinking I'd like to have a modern Mustang sooner or later...maybe the current Bullitt edition or GT. Though I like the modern Challenger a lot also.
-
Yeah, I took care of mine. Garaged most of the time, never drove it in winter. I had the '86 Mustang LX 4 cyl for my main car when I was in college and grad school, then the Bronco II...so the GT mostly was garaged. I did several cross country drives in it, drove all over Colorado and New Mexico when I had it in Colorado in the late 90s-early 00s.

I need to get it out of the barn and drive it more...it has a few issues, but is in really good original condition. A/C isn't working. It's had the clutch replaced, one of the headlight buckets replaced (filled w/ water back in the 90s), driver's door handle (the original broke off around 20 years ago), and has an aftermarket Sony CD player in place of the original AM/FM cassette deck. But still runs great (it gets started and periodically driven up and down the 3/4 mile long driveway at the family farm). I only have a 2 car garage currently at my house in the suburbs, but will probably bring it up here eventually. Had a buddy in high school that had a dark red '86 Monte Carlo SS and another with an '87 Grand National (both got totaled their senior year). Lots of Fox Mustangs and 3rd gen Camaros and Firebirds in my high school in the late 80s.

New Jeepster?

Love that blue '93 ZJ GC that they showed in 2017.. they've done a bunch of neat concepts over the years. -
1/25 AMT '65 Ford Galaxie "Jolly Green Gasser"
Rob Hall replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I don't think so...never seen a straight axle w/ previous issues of the '65 Galaxie. I googled it and found a pic of the original parts and box art, looks like the same 'ol, same 'ol...pretty much what's been in this kit for decades (without the NASCAR parts). I do like the AMT '65 Galaxie, first one I built was the Barris issue from around 1980. -
Yeah, 64k miles...pretty much all original. It's always been my 2nd or 3rd car, hasn't been driven much the last 20 years.
-
Yes, seen it, good movie...a change of pace from the comedies he usually does..

Seriously? I guess you didn’t read my post you quoted. If you clicked on the link I posted, it goes to the first post on his page (the pinned post from January) that has the price list of items and ordering instructions. And you could message him if you have a question on a specific item. Pretty simple.

IIRC, the suspension and rear axle are molded in on this 60 yr old tooling, so it would be a moot point. Never made sense why AMT put a Chevy big block in this kit at some point.

I did drive my Dad's '84 Ford Escort diesel off and on in high school and college, but these two were the first that were mine exclusively. My '87 Mustang GT (got new in high school) and '86 Mustang LX (my take-off-to-college car). Still have the '87, been in storage for a number of years in the barn in the photo (pic is from around 30 years ago). The '86 got totaled when I moved to Michigan in '94 and was replaced by an '88 Ford Bronco II (pictured in rusty form in Colorado Springs in '00, right before I traded it on my first Jeep, an '00 Grand Cherokee).

I think I've only seen him in Seinfeld and several movies. Funny guy. I've long been a fan of his son Ben.

Maybe for a hot rod/street machine build. The '60 Ranchero was 6 cyl only---the Falcon and Ranchero didn't get a V8 option until '63, w/ the 260. So any 289 (like in the AMT '66 Mustang) would work to do a non-stock V8 version..

Missing Link Resin makes a nice 170 Ford 6 cyl (144 and 170 are of the same engine family), there is one on eBay now. I've bought a couple of these to use in '60s Fords. Model Car World Resin makes one also.

Getting modelers to stay on topic is like herding cats that have ADD. (In my profession, I once heard that managing software engineers is like herding cats, we tend to be very independent).

Got mine in the mail today...looks nice at first glance.

Yeah, the sedan roofline is different from the hardtop--taller, rear window is more vertical (thus a thicker C-pillar). Side window openings differ since the doors have window frames. Very different from the 4dr ht.

Pretty easy to find. There is a pinned post from January at the top of his page with the price list of resin kits. Photos are in his photo albums. And he recently had a post taking orders for May.

I’d love to see a series of 73-79 dentside kits in short and long bed, flareside and styleside beds, 2wd and 4wd versions. Maybe Super Cab and Crew Cab versions also . A lot of parts (chassis, suspension, engines) could be carryover from the '67-72 kits, I think.

The ‘83-87 style bumpers are up on his site now, in a set w/ 80s style C10 fender badges and Chevy tailgate trim.

Got mine around the 1st. Good issue.

Hobby Lobby re-opening
Rob Hall replied to Mike999's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not going into any store or restaurant anytime soon, I can get everything I need delivered. About the only trips out I've done recently is to the vet and dog groomer, wearing a mask. Over 2500 cases in my county (though my suburban zip code is still in the single digits). Being cautious, as my sister and I have a history of sinus infections and upper respiratory issues. -
I already have a resin '67 Biscayne 2dr sedan and '67 Caprice 2dr ht, so I'll probably build a stock '67 4dr ht from the new kit.. One of the resin casters was working on a '67 Bel Air or Biscayne 4dr sedan, definitely want one of those eventually.
