My older brother had a silver/black Mustang II Mach 1 back in the day, and built the MPC '76 to match it.. I think it was the last model he ever built (got it somewhere in my stash).

Other neighborhood memories..the folks next door had a sharp black '73 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham and a gold w/ black top '72 Olds 98 4dr ht, the house on the other side had a blue '73 Buick Century 4dr. Across the street there was a worn black '67 Olds Delmont 88 2dr and a new gold '77 Olds Delta 88 4dr. My folks in '77 had a '76 Lincoln Continental 4dr and a '77 Thunderbird in our narrow 1-car garage driveway (my Dad kept the older cars out at our weekend house/farm--'67 and '68 Cougars, '69 Mustang). My sister's '76 Pinto sat at the curb, along w/ my older brother's constantly changing cars ('74 Vega GT, '75 Mustang II Mach 1, '59 Thunderbird, '74 Firebird Formula 400, '65 GTO, '65 Mustang coupe all within a 2-3 year period...)

I can still remember my childhood neighborhood in the mid 70s. Down the street, there was a neighbor with a black ‘68 Impala Custom Coupe and a gold ‘69 Impala Custom Coupe. I remember at an early age noticing the model year differences and how long the rear deck was on the ‘68. I recall when they got a new ‘77 Caprice 2dr.

The '65 and '68 fronts are very similar..both have a header panel above the grille (the '67 hood went all the way to the grille), the headlights notch up into that panel, the bumper has the lower grille below an upper bar... I like the styling of all of those years. GM had a lot of good looking cars in the mid to late 60s...

I like the '67 rear more than the '68...though I really like the optional hidden headlight front on the '68. Likewise, I like the '69 more than the '70, esp. the rear. Though of vintage Impalas, my favorites are probably the '71-73.

I'm planning to use the '67 Rallys from the 2dr kit on AMT redline tires for one (may do it as a phantom SS w/ the bucket seats, SS 427 hood, grille, etc). For the 2nd one, I plan to do as a regular 4dr w/ the 5 spoke wheel covers (like in the Lindberg '66 Chevelle kit) and AMT redline tires. the 3rd one will provide parts, interior, etc for a resin kit.

It's not a hardtop, though. The '67 Chevy is the only domestic 4dr ht on the market currently.

I think the stock '77 annual Vega was retooled into the stock '78 Monza S, then that kit was combined w/ the Pro Stock parts to become the Twister Vega...

Yeah, I'd use them on a vintage police car...maybe the '70 Ford or '78 Monaco...

No idea...I checked the instructions and sprue of the current '67 2dr ht and don't see a part 73. Is that the steering column w/ a turn signal lever? Edit: I see it was answered above.

Stock and notched sides? The stock bed had separate parts for the sides in the stock version I built as a kid IIRC. -

That is sweet...love the color and wheels.

Del Ray was a trim package on the middle level 210. Bel Air was the top trim level. 150 was the base level.

I seem to recall the first of the 80s reissues (the first one I built, red kit on the box, molded in tan) had 5-spoke Hurst-ish style wheels on the box art. But inside only had stock wheels and some multi-spoke mags.

Model Roundup has them for pre-order at the same price last the '67 SS 427 2dr..hope mine ship this week.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Ram 50 comes out again soon also...been 18 years since it was last reissued. -

I built the Courier as a kid (the Monroe Magnum version)..was a neat little kit.. I had trouble getting the bed aligned IIRC. Will have to pick up the reissue when it comes out.
