  1. So the Sunny one says 427, the Academy Minicraft says 289...what actually is the engine? a 289? a 427? Both? Neither?
  2. I don't miss AZ summers..they just seemed to go on and on and on... too many months of triple digit temps. Winter was great, though.
  3. Sunny, 90 and about 40 percent humidity. Been dry the last couple of weeks, need rain. But not bad out. The Cleveland area is not as humid as other parts of Ohio I’ve lived in.
  4. Ah, I figured that was what they were. .wasn't sure. I see..so the original had longer panels so a version w/ a back seat could be done, and the shorter panels were for use w/ the truck half-top? Interesting.
  5. To clarify, what are these 'side panels' ? I have the reissue '73 Jeepster, but none of the earlier ones.
  6. Never heard of Varney or Adams..have heard of Pyro..are these all 50s-60s era tooling?
  7. That would make no sense. Much of the tooling is the same, but the Jimmy does have some unique parts such the grille...
  8. So their press release finally was released. Nothing automotive. Round 2 offloaded some tooling to Atlantis https://drive.google.com/file/d/1joBOl-6XnUYkLacq0c_uRPhemhzA-r4V/view
  9. It will be interesting to see what they do next. Both the ‘68 and ‘69 kits have no extra parts beyond the two stock wheel choices. A drag and/or period street machine style version would be nice.
  10. Have to paint that yourself, I think. The red piece is tiny.
  11. It would make sense that the chassis and body, etc would have evolved into the '78, since I don't think Monogram had a stock C3 before the '78? I have a glue bomb TD Corvette in a parts box somewhere..
  12. The rear fender arches look the same to me, but the '68 has trim below them. The interior upholstery on the seats and door panels differ, as does the instrument cluster and steering wheel. The chassis and engine appear the same, as does the wheel choices (Rallys and 5-spoke mags). '68 interior above, '69 below.
  13. Chrome for the '69 that is different from '68--bumpers and grille.
  14. Definitely a new body. Lots of little Model year detail differences between the 69 and 68--marker lights, vent windows, lower body trim, rear quarter end shape. Both Revell bodies:
  15. They did the taillights with two separate red lenses for the upper and lower sections.
  16. No press release, they did put out an article about the 1977 Monogram acquisition of Aurora tools. But no correlation to any new announcement that I can see.
  17. Got one of the new Revell '69 Chevelles in the mail today..looks good at first glance, looking forward to comparing it to the '68.
  18. True enough...magazines always lag behind on news also, because of the long lead times in publishing. For breaking news on new releases, FB pages/groups and forums are always out ahead of magazines.
  19. And the odds of that happening? Maybe 10 million to 1? Just being realistic, I don't see MCM being published on a regular basis ever again...
  20. Those kind of look like the tires Testors used in the HSO versions of old Jo-han kits..they had ugly metal wheels.
  21. The kit wheels look better than the 1:1 IMO...
  22. And aviation...I've read a few issues in the past, the do have some (limited) automotive content. I'd expect after this they may increase their automotive content? I wonder if some of the SA writers/editors will be joining FSM?
  23. Too much whining. The world changes, has since the beginning of time. You have be able to adapt to a changing world, can’t expect the world to change to ‘suit you’, that’s narcissistic...
  24. Noticed that...bummer, I was looking to get more of his wheels.
  25. I don't know if such a beast existed in the 60s, but they are doing a 4x4 version of the '66 also (in addition to the '70 they already did).
