Took a road trip yesterday down to the part of Ohio I’m originally from, went down some backroads I haven’t driven in probably 30 years. One interesting sighting was what I thought was a ‘41 LaSalle moldering in a yard.

I've got the original LWB annuals, step side, and 454SS in my stash, but could always use more. IIRC, the 454SS was the only SWB fleetside kit that was done of that generation, don't recall a plain non-SS SWB fleetside kit.

True, those were on a shorter wheelbase chassis than the original '88 and '89 Silverado annual kits....that longbed was what became the monster truck. the longbed fleet side has never been reissued after the original monster truck release, I think. Would be nice to see the 454SS and step side versions reissued.

Makes me wonder if the tooling was permanently changed to make the monster truck version. The chassis and suspension of the monster truck versions certainly are different from the stock chassis and suspension.

No. The current Z/28 and B/M kits were new tooling that first appeared around 2000, referred to often as the 'modern tool'. There have to be a dozen threads or more on here that have discussed this topic over the years. Alas, topics just keep getting repeated on here ad infinitum...

I'm sure countless threads here have covered this topic, but long story short---the way I understand it: he AMT '75 progressed through '77 then was later modified into a '70 Z/28 that came out around 1989 ( not the '90s era tooling that is still around today). The MPC '75 was updated each year through '81. On the top below is one of the last issues of the MPC tool and on the bottom is the last issue of the AMT tool.

Perhaps Round 2 owner Tom Lowe stores cars there, or some of his employees do..

That engine would be ok for an early S-10, pre-85. The later ones (the kit is a '91 or '92?) used the Iron Duke, different 4cyl family. Not sure how different they would be in 1:25th, though.

'tree lawn' is what they call that area here in NE Ohio...my street barely has room for 2 way traffic, and when people park on the street (one side only) it becomes one lane...don't see it getting widened, though.

Probably didn't want to deal w/ the rush of questions for a kit that is probably 12-24 months from release.

Yes, a full detail 6th gen would be great. So many variations would be possible.

That would make no sense, the '70 Torino had a longer wheelbase and was wider, and not to mention the '72-76 Torino was BOF, not a unibody.

Amazon says Sept 27-Oct 30 for mine. In my experience, they usually beat the estimated dates. I’ve been a customer of Amazon for over 20 years, they rarely disappoint.

I like the idea of the El Camino wheels for the S10. I had forgotten this kit is 1/25th, was thinking it was 1/24th. I’ve never had the stock one, built the Syclone kit back in the day, and picked up an unbuilt Waverider custom a while back...(I like the custom grille and hood).

Yeah, one would think the small ones would be useful in tightly packed neighborhoods. There are some neat LS-swapped ones out there...googling turned up pics of a couple hot rod mail trucks.
