  1. That's a price on an original....the reissue won't be out for a while yet..
  2. And that tooling is almost 40 years old. I'd assume the older AMT and MPC kits sell well enough each time that they are reissued that the potential ROI for new tooling just isn't there...
  3. Yes, the '73 has a different grille and parking lights. The MPC kit has a '71-ish grille option, but still has the larger '73 bumper (as seen on the box art of the blue and silver car in Casey's post). There hasn't been a stock '71 Mustang kit since the annuals.
  4. Yeah, I'd think it would it be just the same old, same old '73 MPC tooling with new decals and box art. If we are lucky, Round 2 will tool up the flat disk wheel covers and throw in a set of whitewall tires, both of which the movie car had. I can't imagine them using the AMT 'Tope Racer' tooling. Though there are several aftermarket sources for the flat disk wheel covers, though...Missing Link and Fireball Modelworks to name two.
  5. That's what I would assume it would be, the tired old MPC tooling... last seen in this form: The actual AMT '71-73 Mustang tooling has only been seen in street machine/road racer form for decades without a stock interior..most recent version of it was this:
  6. Some discussion of this kit around March 6/7 in this thread...
  7. Same as the previous issue, it looks like. Don't know why they changed the box art, but at first glance at what's in the box, the tires appear the same in the new issue w/ the white wall inserts.
  8. I have the same resin kit... looks like it was based on the AMT '64. There never was a '65 Cutlass kit. MCW also makes a '65 resin kit, it looks better from the pictures. I also have an R&R '64 Cutlass Vista Cruiser wagon.
  9. Got a Missing Link resin '74 Ford F700 kit, been wanting one of these for years...maybe build a farm truck or dump truck..
  10. That’s the base dash, since the Moebius ‘65-66 kits are all Custom Cabs, they have the other dash. I checked my kits, that spare tailgate is the same as in the ‘70 4x4. Moebius often includes parts from other kits since they have shared tooling.
  11. Checked a few of the usual online vendors... Model Roundup shows it as a June release,Tower Hobbies says early October, Spotlight, Hobbylinc and MegaHobby don't have it listed on their sites... And the distributor Stevens International just says 'TBA'... So I figure it will show up when it shows up...
  12. Since Moebius doesn't make an '80-86 F-series, I'd assume it's the tailgate from one of their early 70s kits...the '71 Ranger tailgate is similar to that.
  13. It's my happy place..spend time out there w/ the dogs, I do my work on my laptop on the covered patio when the weather is nice. I do miss having a pool like my previous house, but I may add a hot tub eventually..plan to extend some stones/bricks out from the patio eventually.
  14. Been working in my yard in my spare time..planting shrubbery, tending to the existing shrubs and trees, using the fire pit in the evenings and doing some grilling...finally looking like Spring out..love the green.
  15. If they do something from GM, I’d love to see a 73-80 pickup in Chevy and GMC versions with a variety of bed types and lengths, 2wd and 4wd versions, etc...
  16. Oh yeah, the 1:1 would have been a 2dr w/ the later trim added. 2drs and 4drs are the same length IIRC, just different doors and quarters.
  17. I've seen a couple early 80s Coupe de Villes w/ the Brougham front end and trim, lowriders in So Cal...the '90-92 Brougham had Chevy 5.0/5.7 V8s. I've thought about trying one of the resin 4dr Brougham bodies w/ this kit and find some stockish wire wheels/wheel covers... Given the continuing popularity and reissues of this kit, I'm surprised an enterprising resin caster hasn't offered a stock '80-84 2dr body, bumpers/grilles/headlights, etc.
  18. I don't really notice the changes much since when I do visit the site I use the 'Unread Content' link rather than look in individual forums.
  19. My Dad was in the Army Air Forces during WW II, spent five years in from '41-46, long before I was born. Was stationed at Miami Army Airfield and in the US Virgin Islands during the war...he wanted to be a pilot but was colorblind and worked as a weatherman in the Army. (I wasn't born until 1970, but have B&W photos of him in uniform). My older brother was of the right age for Vietnam, but he had deferments for health issues. Several generations of Navy men amongst my cousins, one was a Navy diver for years.
  20. MCW Resins makes a '60s style Chevy 6. https://mcwfinishes.com/shop/ols/products/1960s-chevrolet-230250-6-cylinder-engine
  21. I'm pretty sure the vinyl top was just a Superbird thing. Never seen a Daytona with one, the Daytona had the flush rear window like the '69 Charger 500.
  22. Very nice...the Lindberg Granada was one of my first builds also...I started out w/ 1/32nd snap kits as a kid in the summer of 1975 IIRC. I think Lindberg made a Monarch also.
  23. I’ve heard of the band, not familiar w/ their work.
  24. Lindberg made a 1/32nd Cobra Daytona. I have one from the mid 70s from childhood.
